Nail Polish of the Day: Sephora Metro Chic

Sephora by OPI Metro Chic Nail Polish

Happy Hump Day, ya'll!  At my previous job, one of my co-workers would come in every Wednesday and say "Happy Hump Day".  It drove us girls bonkers to the point we'd always laugh.  It's been rainy here and I just want to crawl back into bed.  But, I didn't.  Instead, I decided to finally open my Metro Chic ($10.00) that I've been stashing for quite sometime.

This baby has been getting alot of press lately.  So, I wanted to see what all the rage was about.  A grayish purple creme that certianly lives up to the name "Metro Chic".  The formula was thicker than I liked and applied rather streaky at first.  But, eventually smoothed out when it was all said and done.

Metro Chic is different and unique.  Metro Chic is always sold out at sephora stores and online.  Giving those two reasons - it's bound to be all the rage, duh!  But,  please, don't get stupid and pay those insane ebay prices.  Because all in all, it's not worth more than the retail price of nine bucks.  I share the same views with one of my favorite nail polish blogs, The Polish Addict.  So, make sure you check out her blog and put an end to this madness.

Sephora by OPI in Metro Chic

Ok, enough about my rant.  One reason I like Metro Chic - it's a cross between purple and gray, two of my favorite colors.  Indoor lighting, the grayish appears more visible and outdoors you'll notice a purple gray shade.  But, don't let the "temporarily out of stock" on Sephora's site get you down because they will be restocking this.  Infact, they've replinished stock three times already.  So, don't give up all hope.

Although, there may not be an exact dupe - we have some good contenders,  I'll be posting in the next few days!  Have a great Wednesday, you guys!

WOW!!!! This one is awesome, Steph! I wish I could by one for me, hehehe. This season in Brazil we have an orange fever, but I'm not a big fan of citric colors. Kisses!!

I know this color was out of stock at the Mall of America Sephora almost immediately right after it was introduced. A last weekend I was able to get my hands on a bottle and they still had a good number left in the store. Maybe everyone forgot about it up here for a little while ;)

Metro Chic is always sold out in every Sephoria I visit! Someone almost always even steals the testers! I told my Sephora store to put me on the waiting list for this color. However, the original OPI has a similar color called "You Don't Know Jacques" that is a great substitute. "You Don't Know Jacques" has a little more gray undertone, but again, it's along the same lines as Metro Chic.

Great, Thanks the suggestion! It's pretty sad that someone actually steals the testers?! Hopefully, you'll have yours soon. :)

I got this yesterday at Sephora in Northpark Mall in Dallas...I love the color but it took 3 coats to get perfectly even coverage without streaks. It seems much darker on me than your pictures show.

I tried the "Thinking of Blue" color last night and was very impressed with the wide applicator brush. I actually like it better becuase it provides full coverage. The color is vibrant and funky. I absolutely love the shades. I think that this new line will give Opi a run for its money and I'm an avid Opi girl. However, change can be good. : )

I used to be a strictly OPI girl but when I went shopping for a new spring shade and the selection where I went was picked over I took a chance and tried this in Shell We Dance. The application was easy with the brush reminding me of the Pro Wide style OPI uses. Also the wear is very long lasting and keeps my super thin and brittle nails from breaking and peeling. At a few dollars more than OPI per bottle...I\'m sold!

I'm not gonna lie, right now i have over 15 different purples in my collection... i have a problem. This kind of reminds me of the Hot Topic purple! (which is in my top 3 favorite purples)

I picked up Greener, Wildlife, Forest and Reclaim. Reclaim and Wildlife stand out because they are unique, but Greener is still a stunner in my book.
