Nail Polish of the Day: CNY Summer in the City
Happy MLK Day Ya'll! Today the UPS came a knockin with sweet little package from Carolyn New York. And, I was most excited to try out Summer in the City because of two reasons.
First off, there was no online swatches of this perfect pastel yellow shade. Secondly, I've been totally obsessed with yellow ever since the debut of Yellow Fever by Rescue Beauty Lounge. So, I had to see it!
Boy oh Boy, is this a beauty! Infact, Summer in the City is creeping up to be one of my favorite yellows. A light yellow pastel creme that has white undertones and is fairly opaque. The white base is what makes Summer in the City so unique compared to all the other contenders.
Check out more pics below.
Pic taken outside in Natural Light.
Summer in the City is truely unique. The closest competitior I own is Square Pants. As you can see their still way off.
The application was perfect for a yellow. No streaking and you could possibly get away with two thick coats. With cremes, I find it much easier to apply heavier coats.
Summer in the City retails for $7.99 and is available at Carolyn New York.

Steph,
This color is incredible, but I'm not seeing it on CNY's website. Is it not officially out yet?
BTW, in an earlier post you had asked about CNY Amber Streetlights. It is just too gorgeous to describe - intense, but classy. Perfect application and wear, too. I wore it for 5 days (which is long for me), and really hated removing it. Can't wait now to order more CNYs - including Summer in the City. ASAP. Thanks for posting this!

Hi Sheo,
Try typing Summer in the City in the search box on Carolyn's website. For some reason it's filed under orange and corals?? OOH, amber lights sounds fab - can't wait to try it!

Thanks Steph. I don't know how I missed that, except that I haven't been too interested in yellows...until now, that is... That, and I was probably too busy drooling over Korean Fruit and Flower Stand. I'm thinking I might order both of those this weekend.

Steph,
I did end up getting KFFS, Summer in the City, and Sunset on the Hudson. All are just perfect, so as soon as I got them, I did a full skittles mani with just those colors. Very springy and cheerful. KFFS is truly cantaloupe - nice and bright, but soft at the same time. The color isn't represented very well on the CNY site, but a couple of girls have posted very accurate bottle pics on blogs.
Sunset on the Hudson is a yellowy- gold and pinky-peach duochrome with excellent flash. It is a little sheer, but with 3 coats the color is amazing - if you don't mind a little VPL. (I actually like a little VPL on some colors...) So, thanks so much for letting us know about Summer in the City. My hubby usually hates yellow on nails, but he loved this one!
