OPI Valentines: Beverly Hills 90210 Swatches

OPI Beverly Hills Collection

For Valentine's, OPI introduces a new collection inspired by the new Beverly Hills series featured on the CW network.  All three shades are named after the new characters from the CW series.

Back in the day, everyone was watching 90210.  It was just the thing to do.  Brenda, Dylan - Kelly, Dylan.  Emotional, we all were affected by their stupid love triangles.

Last year, when the promo pictures released (see above), I was estatic to see OPI's coming out with a collection to represent my favorite past time crew.   Regrettably, later we all found out that the collection is inspired by the new gang.

No peach pit, green, blue.  Don't ya think the old gang deserves some love -  I do!

OPI Queen of West-erly Nail Polish

OPI 90210 Valentines Collection

Queen of Web-erly, one of my favorites, is a slighty sheer purple mauve with purple and gold shimmer.  Three coats to achieve bottle color.  Note: my swatches were used with three coats, not two.

OPI Pretty and Privledged Nail Polish

OPI Pretty and Privileged Nail Polish

Pretty and Privileged - a ruby red with chunky pink shimmer.

OPI Sweet as Annie Thing! nail polish

OPI 90210 Valentines Collection

Sweet as Annie-Thing is a red orange with gold shimmer.  The gold shimmer in Sweet as Annie Thing makes this color orangish when compared to Pretty and Polished.

The OPI 90210 collection is now avilable at retailers and online and retails between $4.75-$8.00.

Man, I can't believe they're not based on the original 90210! I wanted to see Kelly and Brenda nail polish. What color would Brenda's be?!

Hi Steph,
Love your blog. You wrote: Always wrap the free edge or tip throughout each step. I didn't see this step in the video. Could you please explain how to do the wrap process and with what material. Thank you.

I am wondering if these gel polishes can be used with other gels. I have a different system with a different brand of base coat and top coat, can the different brands of gel mix?

I've had my kit for a couple of months now and love the way it lasts; but the Structure and Brilliance brushes are starting to stiffen and so is the gel in the bottles. Anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to thin them out?

Hi, does anyone know if I can thin out the red carpet base coat so that it is easier to apply?

Hi Prinzy,
It was a gorgeous color! I remember picking up a few bottles because I loved the color so much! lol! Actually, yes, I'm launching a store in the next couple of weeks. I have everything built, I'm just working on the Terms and Conditions right now, so it should be very, very soon.

I only have about 10 Studio M colors in the store currently, but I will be taking special pre-orders once it opens.

Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about retail stores, but you can still find them on

Can I still buy them in the stores now?

I've been playing with this system for about a month now. I love it! When I first started I used the clear just so I could get a feel for it. Then I got adventurous and tried a "sandwich" with a China Glaze color. It probably would have stayed on longer if I had been able to seal off the edges, but my nails were so short it was a bit difficult. The next time I used RCM gel polish in Simply Stunning (a pale slightly shimmery nude color). This time I had gotten enough practice to really make my coats thin and it worked out fabulous. I'm trying to send all my friends the Ulta 20% coupon (5/26 is the last day) so they can get a kit for about $64. :) Now I hope to get a little creative with color combos and nail design. Thanks for the review.
