Deborah Lippmann Spring 09: Purple Rain
For Spring, Deborah Lippmann introduces two light & feminine shades named after popular music artists from the 80's. Pretty Young Thing (PYT), named after Michael Jackson is a very sheer peach pink and Purple Rain named after Prince, is a metallic light purple.
For Purple Rain, Zac Posen teamed up with Deborah Lipmman to create a shimmering metallic shade to showcase in his Spring 2009 fashion show.
Me and metallics just don't get along. It's a love hate relationship. Love the color but hate the application. The color itself is just lovely.
All metallics have the same problem - visible brush strokes. And, Purple Rain being that same case. The brush strokes were visible in sunlight but not as noticeable in artificial lighting.
Pretty Young Thing and Purple Rain are now available at Deborah Lippmann and retail for $15 each.

I've had my eye on this color, but every application I see of it is brush stroke city! Then I also think it doesn't always bother me (Rhapsody in White being the prime example). Do you find it really distracting?

Hi Styrch, For me, yes, I find it really distracting. I can see straight through the brush strokes and it drives me insane! However, the color is so pretty and the application isn't very noticable in natural lighting - if that helps any :)
