Macys Summer Exclusive: Dior Grenade

Dior Grendade Nail Polish Swatch

Dior Grenade Nail Polish

Just when you thought three limited edition polishes wasn't enough this summer, Dior's springs an four addition as a Macy's summer exclusive.  Now that you've seen Michelle's preview of Sweet Orange from the Cristal Collection, I'm bringing you some good ole Grenade.

Click here to see another one of Dior's releases, Purple Candy.

Described as a vibrant hot pink with extremely fine shimmer of blueish - purple, hot pinkish - red and silver. Although, you've only see the various colors of shimmer in the sunlight.

If you look real close at the second picture (yes, bring your head directly to the screen, I know we all do that LOL) you can see the blueish purple.

The application was just perfect and only required two coats for coverage. However, I used three coats for my swatches because the more shimmer the better.

Grenade is only available at Dior counters at Macy's.  As far as I know, each counter only received about four bottles or so. Grenade should be available in April.

Only four bottles a counter!!! Dang! I hate that - this means I'll be running around all over trying to nab this one. I understand they don't want left over stock...but 4 bottles? Come on! This normally isn't my shade...but this looks so fun for summer. Plus I love Dior's formula.

Reminds me of Zoya's Kiki. Hmm... I admit it sorta hurts my eyes, keke.

It's hard to find a pink nail polish that pops but wow this one really does, it's stunning!

I went to Nordstrom to see if they are going to carry Bubble Gum or Purple Candy and imagine my surprise when the consultant said all she had was Paprika-a light shimmery pink- that no one else has! Why does Dior not give any heads up like Chanel does?

Hi Katy, I know, right - only four bottles? I completely agree! Dior's formula is outstanding and the same goes with this one. :) Hi Tiffany, It's definitely a brighter hot pink :) Tessi, This one certainly pops! I dig it :) Hi Debby, I just noticed Paprika on Nordies site just last week but haven't had a chance to see in real life? How did you like it? So, we have a Sephora, Nordies, Macy and Dior's exclusive this summer. Think we might need more :)

I brought my head so close to the screen, my eyes started watering! But at least I saw blue in nail polish. :)

It looked really pretty in real life. It has a really pigmented pink and you can tell it's frosty, not just shimmery( if that makes sense ).

Hi Vicky LOL, at least you saw the blue :) Sounds pretty Debby! I'll have to check out! Thanks for letting us know.

I don't know about Grenade, but I purchased Paprika a few weeks ago, the colour is about the same as Grenade, but I believe the shimmer in Pakrika is even finer than Grenade. The colour is gorgeous though!

Hi Steph,
Love your blog. You wrote: Always wrap the free edge or tip throughout each step. I didn't see this step in the video. Could you please explain how to do the wrap process and with what material. Thank you.

I am wondering if these gel polishes can be used with other gels. I have a different system with a different brand of base coat and top coat, can the different brands of gel mix?

I've had my kit for a couple of months now and love the way it lasts; but the Structure and Brilliance brushes are starting to stiffen and so is the gel in the bottles. Anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to thin them out?

Hi, does anyone know if I can thin out the red carpet base coat so that it is easier to apply?

Hi Prinzy,
It was a gorgeous color! I remember picking up a few bottles because I loved the color so much! lol! Actually, yes, I'm launching a store in the next couple of weeks. I have everything built, I'm just working on the Terms and Conditions right now, so it should be very, very soon.

I only have about 10 Studio M colors in the store currently, but I will be taking special pre-orders once it opens.

Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about retail stores, but you can still find them on

Can I still buy them in the stores now?

I've been playing with this system for about a month now. I love it! When I first started I used the clear just so I could get a feel for it. Then I got adventurous and tried a "sandwich" with a China Glaze color. It probably would have stayed on longer if I had been able to seal off the edges, but my nails were so short it was a bit difficult. The next time I used RCM gel polish in Simply Stunning (a pale slightly shimmery nude color). This time I had gotten enough practice to really make my coats thin and it worked out fabulous. I'm trying to send all my friends the Ulta 20% coupon (5/26 is the last day) so they can get a kit for about $64. :) Now I hope to get a little creative with color combos and nail design. Thanks for the review.
