Revlon Fruitful Temptations: Scented Nail Polish

Revlons Scented Nail Polish

Just when you think you've seen it all, BOOM! Revlon drops a fruit sensation delivered right to you fingertips - you'll be sniffin all the way home. These are addicting. No, let me put this clear - these are obsessively addicting!

Revlon introduces eight new scented shades inspired by the freshness of exotic fruits and infused with succulent tropical scents.

Before I get to the review, check out my favorite shade from the collection.

Revlon Not So Blue-Berry nail polish

Revlon Scented Nail Polish

Not So Blue-berry is insanely gorgeous! The color is well worth the purchase alone. Described as a duochrome shimmer that switches from a blue (sunlight) to frosty silver violet (inside) pic below. It's loaded down with silver and rainbow like shimmer.

The scent is a blueberry grape that's quite yummy! You'll be craving your nails and sniffing like a mad man.

Revlon Not so blue-berry nail polish

To really appreciate the unique shade, you'll have to see in person.

Here's some quick swatches below. All were used with two coats.

Revlon Coconut Crussh nail polish

Coconut Crush - white frosty shimmer with a coconut scent.

Revlon Mad about Mango

Mad About Mango - coral orange creme with a mango scent.

Revlon Pretty in Papaya nail polish

Pretty in Papaya, featured in the promo ad, a coral red cream with a papaya scent.

Revlon Sublime Strawberry nail polish

Sublime Strawberry - a mid tone pink with white micro shimmer and a strawberry scent.

Revlon Passionate Fruit nail polish

Passionate Fruit - magenta purple creme with a berry scent.

Revlon Mon Cherry nail polish

Mon Cherry - cherry red creme with a cherry scent.

Revlon Raspberry Rapture nail polish

Raspberry Rapture - raspberry pink creme with a raspberry scent.

Overall, I absolutely loved these and think they'll be a huge hit. What's the one complaint we make about nail polish? The nasty intoxicating fumes. So why not make a nail polish that actually smells good?! Just brilliant!

Once completely dried, you'll notice a light tropical scent in each shade. At first, it's just like any other nail polish when you apply.

Can I use a topcoat? Yep. In my experience, when a topcoat is used the scent wasn't nearly as strong - but it doesn't destroy the smell at the same time. If you feel the smell is a tad overwhelming, it may be a good idea to use a topcoat.

Personally, I skip a clear topcoat because I want to smell the strong fruity scent - that's the benefit!

How long does the scent last? Suprisingly a long time! For the first 8-12 hours the fruity scent is strong and even after a day or two, you'll notice a faint smell.

When the scent does start to die down, all you have to do is reapply one coat and go!

Are they safe? Of Course!

Fruitful Temptations is a limited edition collection and retails around $4.50/ea. I wanna hear everyone's thoughts? Have a wonderful weekend!

I used the Mon Cherry with Seche Vite tc and had no problem smelling the cherry sent once my nails were dry. I did my manicure right before bed and could still smell cherry until the evening of the next day.

Hi Kitsun, I had much better luck without the topcoat :) The scent wasn't nearly as strong for me? How did you like them? Hi Tessi, It's a wonderful brand! I really should feature more colors! You def have to get your hands on not so blue-berry! let me know how you like them :) OH PS: Revlon just introduced a new deep purple with silver micro shimmer nail polish called No Shrinking Violet! Make sure you check that one out too :) Hi Lucy, Their addicting :)

Hi AH-ddict, Awww, Thanks so much stopping by - hope I see ya again soon! I really wish Anna Sui colors were easier to get a hold because their awesome! Revlon's are so much better than the rose smell...Honestly, I can't stand a rose smell. it takes me back to the fancy fragrant soaps LOL! xoxo Hi Echo7, Check your Walgreens :)

Hi Steph! I picked up Not So Blue-berry and applied it last night. I found that it took a long time to dry and I applied a topcoat and the scent is still there. I find it a bit overpowering, but maybe that's just me. Not too sure if I would wear it again, but we'll see.

steph- I have a similar shimmery blue on my wishlist from Zoya: Jo How does it compare?

Wow, you looked! Now, advertise your site here!
Right in the middle of the discussion!

Hi Nessa, The scent was a little strong for me at first, but the scent died down after the first 6 hours. But, I also like a little over powering :) I really loved them! Hi Elaine, Actually, Zoya's Jo looks similar to my outside pictures of Not so Blue-berry but they are very different. Revlon's is more purple based (violet) with silver and purple shimmer compared to Zoya's blue with blue and silver shimmer. :) If you like shimmery polishes, you'll love Not so Blue-berry. Both are super pretty.

I searched all over for these and couldn't find them. I sent my mom out hunting and she found all of them and is mailing them to me. I can't wait!

Echo7 said, on Apr 12th, 2009 9:30 am Reply
I found them at Rite Aid. I bought the Passion Fruit, Blueberry and Raspberry colors. I put on Passion Fruit last night and it's perfect for Easter. I didn't see them at Walgreens, but thanks for sending me to there first. I finally found a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in white, at last!

Hi Vicky, yum, coconut crush! Hi Milan, No problem, Thanks for the link :) Hi Holly, whoohoo! You'll love every flavor! Hi Echo7, Yahhh for the scented polishes and nail art pen! Both are fab! Hi Leslie, Are you letting each coat dry before you apply another? I haven't had any problems with them yet? I really hope they work out for you, because I luv em :)

I just discovered these today and only picked up the strawberry because I couldn't decide on the colours. But after seeing them all here, I think I'm going to have to go back and get them all! thanks for the swatches!

I just bought Pretty in Papaya and this color is perfect with a tan. I found the smell subtle and fresh. I love it and thanks for posting what the other colors would like on. I'm going back to get a few more, they were also on sale!

Steph said, on May 13th, 2009 11:30 am Reply
Hi Nova, No problem! I really loved all the colors! Hi Tanya, Your Welcome :) Aren't they fab? I really loved them all!

Awesome review and pics. Those colours actually look totally cute on shorter nails. I always thought I wouldn't be able to get away with it on shorter nails, but your fingers are so cute!! You made me look on Ebay for these (in live in Holland and we never have any of the cool stuff) and i found them for a pretty decent price (4 bucks per bottle)... i just spoiled myself and got them all... can't wait to receive that package and have some fun with these and my Konad package that is coming from ocdnails.com... Thanks again, i'm SOLD!

Steph said, on May 20th, 2009 8:47 am Reply
Hi Wendy, Aww, thanks so much :)! Actually, 4 bucks a bottle is a terrific deal, you will love them! I promise :) These will look great with konad's, esp for summer :)

I got the Not So Blue-Berry the other day. I love it! My mom is at Kmart right now and is picking up the the other colors except the Raspberry Rapture. That' the one that I really wanted! I'll find it somewhere.

cosmogirl said, on Aug 18th, 2009 10:21 am Reply
Are these still available? It is now late Aug 2009. I have not seen them in the stores :) Love the Mango and Papaya!!

Steph said, on Apr 7th, 2010 9:28 pm Reply
Hi Cosmogirl,
You might be able to find these in the clearance section, but for the most part they are discontinued. Revlon has a collection coming out for Summer 2010 with different scented polishes from last year, so be sure to look out for them! :)

This is awesome! I'm going go force my boyfriend to buy me all the scented nail polish!

ShannonD said, on May 25th, 2010 2:25 pm Reply
I became addicted to the scented line with their newest colors. Bought all of them except the ocean breeze (because I don't like the scent at all). Now I am trying to find all the fruitful scents. I love these things and I am not a big nail polish wearer. I hope the scents hold up over time because I rarely use nail polish. I want them to last years so I can have my color and scent kick when the fancy takes me. Did you ever review the new colors? The green one "Beach" wears yellow instead of green. Not sure I like how sickly yellow it is. The best new one is Gum Drop. It is pretty, pale but still a statement, and smells delicious. I have had compliments on the color.

I tried Deluxe Chocolate last week and loved it! Wicked will be my next mani. And I've been thinking about ordering the new Fall rose shades, but they don't seem very fall to me.... so I haven't decided yet.

Those are great dupes! I've always had good results from Milani, so I think I'll be looking for Dressmaker. I don't own any Chanel, and don't expect to either.

Great post! It's very helpful. I already have the Jordana (which is the same as the Milani Dressmaker) so I don't need the Chanel which is impossible to get a hand on. Thank you so much for this comparison!
