Gray Nail Polish Comparisons: Swatches

gray nail polish

Happy Thursday lovelies! Hope your having a wonderful afternoon or morning, wherever you are. It's another rainy day in the neighborhood and a perfect time for some gray nail polish comparisons.

Just a little over a year ago, this stormy color was scarce to find, and today - I'm happy to report we have a few great picks to choose from.

My Most Memorable Gray: Although there are many fabulous shades of gray, I have to my give props to one that broke my gray virginity, China Glaze's Recycle from the E-Collection.

Back in Spring 08', when the E-collection was originally released, I had a completely different view of Recycle. It's defintitely a shade you have to warm up to. And, now I love it.

Some other favorites: Zoya Harley, Essie Body Language, LA Girls Flare Saharan Sand, RBL Concrete Jungle, MAC on the Prowl.

(C) Creme (S) Shimmer  Check em' out!

Light Gray nail polish comparisons dupes

The Light Gray's (pictured above). Body Language and Saharan Sand are two of my favorites. It's a mix between gray, nude and white that looks really fabulous on. It's light, crisp and opaque.

Medium Gray nail polish comparisons dupes

The Medium Gray's. RBL's grays have just a pinch of stormy blue that makes them different from the others.

Dark Grey Nail Polish Comparisons Dupes

The Dark Gray's. Have a wonderful day! What's everyone's favorite shade of gray?

I have recycle by CG, and as beautiful as the application and the color is, it does nothing for my brown skin. So, while I love dark grays in general, light ones compliment my skin tone. I love the milani and OPI moon over on you. side note: I bought the essie light shimmery blue because of you (from the northfolk collection) and it's the best thing I've ever done. Beautiful blue with nice gray undertones.

When I saw this this I started to laugh because I have Saharan Sand and didn't realize it was in the light gray feild, sigh. Now I have this and on the prowl, oh well....thanks for this one too

Those that you said were dupes, don't look the same to me. Also, Zoya Harley looks close to Carolyn New York Handball Courts, is it?

Hi Domineque, I took me a while to warm up to Recycle, it's definitely not a shade I fell instantly in love with :) Aww, I really loved the north folk colllection. It's really a gorgeous color! So glad you love it. Hi ugot2luvlana, It's not really a true gray persa, but a mix between gray and beige. Colors are so unpredictable sometimes. Hi Jennifer, The only exact dupes are On the Prowl and Day Dreaming, the others are close dupes, I assure you. Zoya's base is a little lighter than Carolyn's, but the shimmer in both is completely different ;)

Thanks for all the swatching. I love the grey's. My favorite is China Glaze's Recycle. I also like Carolyn's Handball Court and RBL Concrete Jungle. I'm so glad there are so many choices of colors.

Where can I buy RBL nail polish? I've been searching for an amazing gray for quite some time. Your site is amazing!

I tried Deluxe Chocolate last week and loved it! Wicked will be my next mani. And I've been thinking about ordering the new Fall rose shades, but they don't seem very fall to me.... so I haven't decided yet.

Those are great dupes! I've always had good results from Milani, so I think I'll be looking for Dressmaker. I don't own any Chanel, and don't expect to either.

Great post! It's very helpful. I already have the Jordana (which is the same as the Milani Dressmaker) so I don't need the Chanel which is impossible to get a hand on. Thank you so much for this comparison!
