Spring 09: Sally Hansen Tracy Reese Collection

Spring 09 Tracy Reese

This Spring, Sally Hansen collaborates with fashion designer, Tracy Reese for the six season in a row with seven fabulous shades.

Each limited edition color is inspired from Tracy Reese's Spring fashion show held back in Sept 08'.

Overall, what a fabulous Spring collaboration from Tracy Reese and Sally Hansen and a big two thumbs up! Every color has excellent pigmentation and requires around two or three coats.

Check out all the swatches.

Sally Hansen Forsythia nail polish

 Tracy Reese Spring 09 Collection

Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon? The best way to describe Forsythia is a little slice of Honey Mustard heaven. More cool toned than most yellows I own, yet very peculiar at the same rate.

Sally Hansen Honeydew nail polish

Tracy Reese Spring 09 Collection

Honeydew is a gorgeous mermaid teal shimmer. Click here for your chance to win this shade.

Sally Hansen Tassel Nail Polish

Tracy Reese Spring 09 collection

Tassel is a gorgeous gold metallic with a pinch of bronze that looks so much prettier on, and the application was a breeze.

Sally Hansen Nasturtium nail polish

Tracy Reese Spring 09 Collection

Nasturtium - a perfect spring and summer coral orange creme.

Sally Hansen Azalea nail polish

Tracy Reese Spring 09 Collection

Azalea is a medium pink toned creme.

Sally Hansen Night Hydrangea nail polish

Tracy Reese Spring 09 Collection

Night Hydrangea, is truely the gem of the collection, a blueish purple with shimmer. Click here for your chance to win this shade.

Sally Hansen Beet Satin nail polish

Beet Satin, a beet berry red creme. The Tracy Reese collection is now available at stores and retails around $5.99/ea.

These ALL look impressive but when I travel to any of the mass retailers I can\'t ever locate these colors. Tracy Reese must go very quickly but I will still keep an eye out.

Thanks for the gorgeous swatches, Steph! Denny, I have the same prob with finding Sally Hansen/Tracy Reese colors. All the stores near me carry the regular Sally Hansen line, but not the special collections from Tracy Reese. I guess I'll have to order them online.

I've been looking for these for a while and ran across them by luck at a hidden Walgreen's! I grabbed Beet Stain, Night Hydrangea, Nasturtium, Forsythia, and Honeydew! My friend grabbed the last Tassel, sigh. They're on sale, too!! They're so gorgeous!

I love Night Hydrangea and Beet Satin. I have the whole collection. I had a friend checking Walgreen's each week. Finally she found it!

Denny, :( I hate how these are so hard to find. Even if you do find a display, it's only two of each color! not fair. Jessica, Keep your fingers crossed, they may just pop up :) I do hate that their so hard to find for you guys. Hi Lucy, Lucky girl you! I really loved this entire collection. One of the best Tracy Reese Collaboration thus far :)

Hi Steph,
Love your blog. You wrote: Always wrap the free edge or tip throughout each step. I didn't see this step in the video. Could you please explain how to do the wrap process and with what material. Thank you.

I am wondering if these gel polishes can be used with other gels. I have a different system with a different brand of base coat and top coat, can the different brands of gel mix?

I've had my kit for a couple of months now and love the way it lasts; but the Structure and Brilliance brushes are starting to stiffen and so is the gel in the bottles. Anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to thin them out?

Hi, does anyone know if I can thin out the red carpet base coat so that it is easier to apply?

Hi Prinzy,
It was a gorgeous color! I remember picking up a few bottles because I loved the color so much! lol! Actually, yes, I'm launching a store in the next couple of weeks. I have everything built, I'm just working on the Terms and Conditions right now, so it should be very, very soon.

I only have about 10 Studio M colors in the store currently, but I will be taking special pre-orders once it opens.

Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about retail stores, but you can still find them on amazon.com.

Can I still buy them in the stores now?

I've been playing with this system for about a month now. I love it! When I first started I used the clear just so I could get a feel for it. Then I got adventurous and tried a "sandwich" with a China Glaze color. It probably would have stayed on longer if I had been able to seal off the edges, but my nails were so short it was a bit difficult. The next time I used RCM gel polish in Simply Stunning (a pale slightly shimmery nude color). This time I had gotten enough practice to really make my coats thin and it worked out fabulous. I'm trying to send all my friends the Ulta 20% coupon (5/26 is the last day) so they can get a kit for about $64. :) Now I hope to get a little creative with color combos and nail design. Thanks for the review.
