Fall 09: Orly Once Upon a Time Collection

Orly fall Once upon a Time collection

Orly introduces a new release this Fall called, Once Upon a Time. A collection that's themed around fairly tales, wishes, and making our nail polish dreams come true with six fabulous colors.

If your looking for unique and unusual shades, tune in, because you'll love this new collection from Orly.

This was totally unexpected for fall and I'm digging it. Green, Grays, and Brown - what more can nail polish fanatics ask for!

Application: The formula was pretty good on most of these, packed with color and opaqueness. Pixie Dust was the only shade that needed three coats.

Check em' out!

Orly Prince charming nail polish

Orly Once Upon a time Fall 09

Prince Charming is a brownish taupe creme that resembles another one we've seen this summer, Over the Taupe from OPI's Summer Brights collection. Not being exact dupes, Prince Charming is tad bit more brown.

Orly Enchanted Forest nail polish

Orly Once Upon a time Fall collection

Enchanged Forest, a deep forest green creme. Not as dark as some blackened greens we've seen, such as, Zoya's Envy. The slight hint of blue makes this one special from the others.

Orly Mirror Mirror nail polish

Orly once upon a time fall collection

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest gray of all, I am, I am! Described as a true light grey creme. This is a perfect light gray, I love it.

Rescue Beauty Lounge's Concrete Jungle is similar, but just a tad more blue than Mirror, Mirror.

Orly Pixie Dust Nail polish

Orly Fall 09 Once upon a time

Pixie Dust is one of my faves from the collection, a grayish blue with silver shimmer. Very unique and gorgeous!

Orly Poison Apple nail polish

Poison Apple, an apple red with slight orange undertones. I'm not a big fan of reds, but the muted orange gave this a little kick that I liked.

Orly Happily ever after nail polish

Happily Ever After, berry pink with subtle hot pink shimmer. The shimmer is extremely subtle, almost non existent if looking directly at it.

Orly's Once Upon a Time collection should be available August 1st at Head2Toe Beauty, Transdesign and Sally Beauty Stores. Have a wonderful day!

Wow, swatches! Yay, thanks! I like 'Happily Ever After'. I thought it was nothing special when I saw the bottle, but it's really pretty!!! Great! I think this is the only one I want!

Pixie Dust and Enchanted Forest are the ones I'll be buying from this collection. Usually Orly doesn't seize any lemmings for me, but this one did! I think your nails are as cute as a button, by the way! :) As usual, I'll be back to check out your next update. Keep up the great work - you're one of my favourite nail-polish bloggers.

I will be buying the whole collection. I will buy it just for the name alone. I adore fairy tales so I have to have this. I love Enchanted Forest, any chance of this being a dupe for Nars Zulu? Pixie Dust is adorable and I love Prince Charming.

Love love love your blog Steph! I just recently stumbled upon it when I googled Sally's new polish line. So far since purchasing my first bottle (comander in chic) I have returned to buy 5 more bottles... Seriously has to be the best new nail polish line out there. Top colors for me are Commander in Chic, Grey by Grey, Plum Luck, Lavender Cloud and Pat on The Black. At this speed I think Ill own them all by the end of the month! :)

I tried the "Thinking of Blue" color last night and was very impressed with the wide applicator brush. I actually like it better becuase it provides full coverage. The color is vibrant and funky. I absolutely love the shades. I think that this new line will give Opi a run for its money and I'm an avid Opi girl. However, change can be good. : )

I used to be a strictly OPI girl but when I went shopping for a new spring shade and the selection where I went was picked over I took a chance and tried this in Shell We Dance. The application was easy with the brush reminding me of the Pro Wide style OPI uses. Also the wear is very long lasting and keeps my super thin and brittle nails from breaking and peeling. At a few dollars more than OPI per bottle...I\'m sold!

I'm not gonna lie, right now i have over 15 different purples in my collection... i have a problem. This kind of reminds me of the Hot Topic purple! (which is in my top 3 favorite purples)
