FAQ: Is there any dupes for Starry Starry Night

Essie Starry Starry night dupe

Q: I love Essie's discontinued Starry Starry Nights but can't find this color anywhere! Is there any close dupes or possible alternatives for this gorgeous shade?

A: Starry Starry Night is one of Essie's highly sought after colors and I have some bad news addicts, the answer is No!

The unique blue jelly-ness of Starry Starry night makes it next to impossible to find an exact dupe. However, I went digging through my closet and found two close alternatives that you might find lurking at your favorite Dollar Tree. But I warn ya, it's just as hard to track these down.

Check out my findings below.

Essie Starry Starry Night Dupes

Here's what I came up with. Naturistics being the closest dupe to Starry Starry Night.

Naturistic Crystal Blue nail polish

Crystal Blue is really gorgeous and perhaps one of Essie's biggest contenders. A true navy blue jelly loaded with the same blue and silver glitter as Starry Starry Night. The navy blue base is just a tad bit darker compared to Essie's.

Essie Starry Starry Night nail polish

Here's our pride and glory Starry Starry Night. The blue jelly base is really hard to describe. It's not your standard navy blue base, more muted and brighter at the same rate.

Maybelline Twinkle Twinkle nail polish

Maybelline's Twinkle Twinkle should be the easiest alternative to find at your Dollar Tree or Ebay. An opaque navy blue with silver glitter.

Another alternative that I didn't include in my post, Sephora's Blue Sapphire. It's more of a royal blue with chunkier glitter that's super easy to find at Sephora.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Asian Girl, Gurl, Seriously you don't need the real thing!!! Naturistics is so close, you would never notice the difference :)

Here's another dup question: Is there a dup for Essie's "Pama"?

Have you seen Sephora brand blue sapphire? I think you need to throw that in there too and compare :) I bought that as a dupe.. I think it *needs* a pinch more glitter though

Hi Otrivia la Livia, Pama is a great color! Let me look and see if I have anything close :) Hi Lizliz, yeah, I have Blue Sapphire linked to this post above! It's definitely not as close as these two, but a nice alternative! :)

Love love love your blog Steph! I just recently stumbled upon it when I googled Sally's new polish line. So far since purchasing my first bottle (comander in chic) I have returned to buy 5 more bottles... Seriously has to be the best new nail polish line out there. Top colors for me are Commander in Chic, Grey by Grey, Plum Luck, Lavender Cloud and Pat on The Black. At this speed I think Ill own them all by the end of the month! :)

I tried the "Thinking of Blue" color last night and was very impressed with the wide applicator brush. I actually like it better becuase it provides full coverage. The color is vibrant and funky. I absolutely love the shades. I think that this new line will give Opi a run for its money and I'm an avid Opi girl. However, change can be good. : )

I used to be a strictly OPI girl but when I went shopping for a new spring shade and the selection where I went was picked over I took a chance and tried this in Shell We Dance. The application was easy with the brush reminding me of the Pro Wide style OPI uses. Also the wear is very long lasting and keeps my super thin and brittle nails from breaking and peeling. At a few dollars more than OPI per bottle...I\'m sold!

I'm not gonna lie, right now i have over 15 different purples in my collection... i have a problem. This kind of reminds me of the Hot Topic purple! (which is in my top 3 favorite purples)
