Chanel Jade Collection: Swatches, Review

Chanel Jade Collection
Product: Chanel Jade Collection, LE Vernis Nail Colour 0.4 oz
Price: $25.00/ea
Steph's Rating:
Buy it: Chanel, Boutiques

The time is here Ladies and Gents! Ever since the debut of Jade at Chanel's Fall 09' Fashion Runway Show, I couldn't wait to get my grubby little hands on this gorgeous minty green shade.

In this new collection, we have two limited edition shades from Chanel, Jade and Jade Rose. Both shades are lightly sprinkled with a dose of shimmer. I'm talking very subtle, almost non existent shimmer. My application required three full coats to achieve bottle color.

Let's move on to the swatches!

Chanel Jade Mint Green Nail Polish

Chanel Jade, Limited Editon Collection

This year, mint green hit the scene bigger than ever and Jade fits the bill perfectly. A gorgeous mint green with a dash of faint shimmer that makes this different from most greens I own.

Chanel Jade Rose Nail Polish

Chanel Jade, Limited Edition Collection

Jade Rose is a soft pink beige with extremely subtle pink shimmer. With my skin tone, Jade Rose turned out very "neutral-ish" on me. It's a cross between Essie's Eternal Optimist and Not Just a Pretty Face minus the shimmer, which isn't very noticeable anyways.

And for the polka dot lover in all of us!

Chanel Jade and Jade Rose with Polka Dots

All in All, the superstar in this collection is clearly the beautiful Jade. Although I'd hope the shimmer would be more visible, I'm happy with the overall color.

The Jade collection is only available online at Chanel or Chanel Boutiques and retails for $25/ea.

I love that green! But when I added it to my cart with shipping and handling, oh that price! I just couldn't do it. I wish companies like Chanel would offer a bottle half that size for half the price. They'd probably sell like crazy!

As always, gorgeous swatches! I love these colors. But like some of the others, I don\'t love the price. And there are other wants that I have before these. Perhaps I might go for Jade, but I don\'t know. They do look gorgeous though!

I love these colors, but unfortunately I like the price tag quite a bit less :(

I love Jade but I just can't see paying the price. I hope there's a dupe somewhere. Looks gorgeous on you Steph. The rose is also lovely but doesn't make me crazy. I always love your dotty manicures.

Can you do a comparison swatch with OPI's Hey get in Lime! and MAC's Peppermint Patti?

Wow, you looked! Now, advertise your site here!
Right in the middle of the discussion!

Is the jade rose a sheer pink?

Steph said, on Oct 12th, 2009 11:41 pm Reply
Hi Leslie,
I wouldn't classify Jade Rose as a sheer, maybe semi sheer :) It's pretty much the same coverage as Jade

Thanks for a great review.

I just recently purchased the RCM system, and was a little too worried about putting on the color so I only did the clear manicure. Thanks for the tips, because I look forward to trying the color this next time!

Has anyone ever heard of the brand of crackle called KR but the K is backwards? It is great but I've never heard of it before. The way it crackles it looks like dried up clay. Plus it was only $1.50 a bottle and the bottle was 18ml (USA).

Thanks, Steph! I took advantage of a sale this week and bought it. Hopefully I'll have time to start practicing with a nail or two this weekend. Maybe it will help me get that free edge eventually ;)
