Halloween: Color Club Master of Disguise

Color Club Master of Disguise

Price: $5.95 and up

Summer has officially kicked the bucket this season, and I couldn't be happier to celebrate Fall. Football, Sweatshirts & Long Pants, Bonfires - All things I love! And don't forget, Halloween!

Today let's start with a wickedly cool collection from Color Club called, Master of Disguise. In this new boxed set, you'll find four halloween mini polishes averaging .25 oz/ea. All colors applied fairy well not exceeding three coats.

Check out the swatches!

 Color Club Abracadabra Nail Polish

Abracadabra is a thin orange jelly with chunky round gold glitter that has a slight matte texture.

Color Club Abracadabra over Black

Abracadabra layered over black screams Halloween.

Color Club Taboo Nail Polish

Taboo is absolutely gorgeous and one of my faves. It's a blue purple shimmer that's certainly pretty. Just a tad bit blue compared to her sister, Electronica.

Color Club Ghost of Chance Nail Polish

Ghost of Chance is a opaque french white creme.

Color Club Witchy Woman Nail Polish

Witchy Woman or Master of Disguise, you pick? On the original press release both names are mentioned, but I'm going with Witchy Woman. It's more fitting. Described as a black creme that has the same satin/matte texture as Where's the Soiree.

All in All, great collection! Price is right and the small mini bottles are ideal for travel and everyday use. The only downfall, Abracadabra and Taboo aren't sold seperately.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Beautiful swatches! Taboo is CC Electronica repackaged. Hope this helps someone looking for dupes.

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for pointing that out! I just pulled out my Electronica and it's a deeper purple compared to Taboo. A great alternative!

I love this collection! It's so much fun. Have to say, I'm calling the black Witchy Woman too! ;)

Taboo kind of reminds me of the new blue purple from the Sally Hansen Instadri line.

Steph said on Sep 23rd, 2009 7:13 pm
That's what I thought also, but it's not. Taboo is just a tad bit more purple than Sally Hansen's Violet Voom! Taboo is def the winner :)

I've been out of the loop since school started up again, so please forgive me if this is public knowledge, but do you know if Abracadabra will be sold separately? I love that one the most, and I think I'd like a full bottle, rather than simply a mini. Thank you so much for posting your pics! Seeing these lovely photos are so helpful when I'm looking for new shades for my collection. :-)

Hi Steph,
Love your blog. You wrote: Always wrap the free edge or tip throughout each step. I didn't see this step in the video. Could you please explain how to do the wrap process and with what material. Thank you.

I am wondering if these gel polishes can be used with other gels. I have a different system with a different brand of base coat and top coat, can the different brands of gel mix?

I've had my kit for a couple of months now and love the way it lasts; but the Structure and Brilliance brushes are starting to stiffen and so is the gel in the bottles. Anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to thin them out?

Hi, does anyone know if I can thin out the red carpet base coat so that it is easier to apply?

Hi Prinzy,
It was a gorgeous color! I remember picking up a few bottles because I loved the color so much! lol! Actually, yes, I'm launching a store in the next couple of weeks. I have everything built, I'm just working on the Terms and Conditions right now, so it should be very, very soon.

I only have about 10 Studio M colors in the store currently, but I will be taking special pre-orders once it opens.

Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about retail stores, but you can still find them on

Can I still buy them in the stores now?

I've been playing with this system for about a month now. I love it! When I first started I used the clear just so I could get a feel for it. Then I got adventurous and tried a "sandwich" with a China Glaze color. It probably would have stayed on longer if I had been able to seal off the edges, but my nails were so short it was a bit difficult. The next time I used RCM gel polish in Simply Stunning (a pale slightly shimmery nude color). This time I had gotten enough practice to really make my coats thin and it worked out fabulous. I'm trying to send all my friends the Ulta 20% coupon (5/26 is the last day) so they can get a kit for about $64. :) Now I hope to get a little creative with color combos and nail design. Thanks for the review.
