Going Green: Maybelline Minty Nail Polish
Happy Monday! Did everyone have a fabulous weekend? Even though St. Patrick's day has ended, the green theme continues on and today I have a new mint to share from Maybelline's Sweet Thing Spring Collection.
Minty is a pastel mint green creme. It's not too bright nor too pastel - the perfect median mint green. Unfortunately, the application wasn't as kind.
With the exception of older Maybelline polishes from the Dollar Tree, I usually have no issues with the formula. When I was applying Minty for the first time, I noticed fiber-like pieces from the brush resembling hair or fuzz. But in the end it all worked out surprisingly.
Bottom line - Minty is great color if you can get past dreadful formula. You can find this collection for a limited time at most drug stores: Walgreens, Ulta, CVS and Meijers. The average price is around $3.99 - $4.99/ea.
Did you guys have any application problems with Minty or The Sweet Thing Collection?

I had the same thing! I haven't worn them yet, but when I swatched both Pie in the Sky and Sweet Clementine, there were little fiber bits. I was thinking of cleaning off the brush before doing a full mani with either of these, but I'm glad to hear it works out anyway. In other reviews, though, I haven't read anything else about this. I just thought I got a couple off bottles, since I got them at KMart. (;P) Thanks for saying something!

I am wearing this now! I applied it yesterday and I had a lot of trouble with the application. It was streaky, runny and I had little bumps (air bubbles?). I love the color but I don\'t love the formula.

My brush on Minty sucks too! I love the color but the brush is dreadful. I had to do 3 coats of polish because it was a little streaky. Weird formula, great color.

I found it streaky and maybe needing to be thinned.
Unrelated, it dries overnight a lot darker than the bottle color.

I got Minty. Got a compliment on the color from a girl at Ulta! I had the fiber things too. Its a shame maybelline has sub par formula and brush :(

I've been looking for this kind of color for a cheap price everywhere in my city. Nowhere to be found!

I just applied Maybelline's Goody Plum Drop (from the same collection). I had the same icky lumpy problem. I am disappointed in the terrible formula; I love the colors, though.
