Nubar introduces three new shimmering mattes to the Night Sky Collection. Sunset, Twilight and Midnight resembles the Metal Chic and Suede finishes. Each color is filled with a heavy amount metallic silver shimmer that turns dull, flat paint into magic!
The application and formula on these is amazing! Every color is extremely opaque with only one or two coats and drying times next to perfection. You'll have plenty of time to reapply without feeling too rushed.
Are you ready for some swatches? Check them out!
Twilight is a subtle light gray matte with silver shimmer that's more on the silver side rather than gray. It's a bit lighter compared to MAC's limited edition shade, Studded. So if you're looking for an alternative to MAC's version, this is it! The application is flawless, you can't beat that.
Sunset is a rich golden matte with silver shimmer. With a glossy top coat (shown above), you can see the warmer tones come alive in Sunset, and Compared to Orly's Solid Gold it's a close call.
Midnight is a deep charcoal matte with silver shimmer. It's not quite black, the silver shimmer makes this on the darker scale of gray. Orly's Iron Butterfly is a bit lighter compared to Midnight, but relatively close just like Sunset.
Nubar celebrates ten years of creating safe and innovative nail lacquers with Nubar 2010. This shade consists of flakes and reflective glitter in a polychromatic base. It can be worn alone or layered over different base colors for a dramatic effect.
I know you guys are wondering, how does this compare to Hidden Treasure? Looking at the bottles side by side, the glitter is very different. Nubar 2010 is much more sparkly and the glitter particles are small and finer, whereas Hidden Treasure has that larger scaled look. Regardless, both give off the same opalescent effect. So if you can't track down Hidden Treasure, Nubar 2010 is a perfect substitute.
Overall, Nice Collection! The formula on Nubar's shimmering mattes is next to perfect, most colors being one coaters - two at the very most. They may not rank at the top of the unique chart, but if you don't own any matte finishes it's a great starter set. Nubar 2010 is pretty self explanatory, totally awesome!
How do you feel abut The Night Sky Collection? Is Nubar 2010 hot or what?

The products don't excite me, but that's a seriously great photo you've got of the topcoat-- very clear exactly what it does.

Don't ask me why because I don't have this collection but I do have all of Orly's, these look like they apply much better. Of course it could have been just me because I had never worn matte polishes when I used the Orly. I'm still liking these colors!
