This Spring, Sally Hansen introduces eight ultra glittery shades to the HD High Definition Nail Color line - A patent formula with real Liquid Crystals for Multi Dimensional Color and Iridescent Shine. In short-- The Ultra collection is Glass Fleck, Iridescent, Duochrome Glitter!
Like most HD polishes from Sally Hansen's line, these applied slightly sheer with buildable coverage. Today I'm sharing a few of my favorites from the collection, all of which have that glassy iridescent glitter with the exception of Resolution.
Check out the swatches!
DVD applies as a sheer light purple with heavy flashes of blue glitter. The end result is a gorgeous soft blurple with an insane amount of sparkle. DVD is truely spectacular; it brings any polish to life!! If you can only purchase one color, this is your gal!
Spectrum - is a bright turquoise with blue flecks of glitter.
Laser is in the same family as DVD, except this one is much bluer. The base has a decent amount of color compared to the others and is filled with blue and purple flashes of glitter.
Byte - is a fuchsia with flashes of pink and blue iridescent glitter. I'm not a big fan of pinks generally, but I really loved this one! The flashes of blue glitter is more prominent than the pink. Very Stunning!
Resolution - is a green with blue undertones and iridescent shimmer. The gold shimmer is really gorgeous; it gives off a glowing vibe.
Laser, DVD, and Byte all have duochrome qualities looking at the bottle. It's not as obvious on the nail, but you can certainly see the effect indoors under the right lighting.
Overall - Gorgeous, Amazing, and just pure awesomeness from Sally Hansen this year! If you love glass fleck glitter and don't mind a sheer formula - it's definitely worth checking out! Don't let the "sheerness" factor turn you off - these can be layered over ANY base or coordinating color!
Check out my favorite layering combo below.
Try layering Laser, Spectrum and DVD for the Ultra HD experience (pictured above).
The High Definition collection is now available and retails between $5.99-$6.99/ea. How gorgeous is the Ultra HD's? Will you be checking these out? Have a wonderful Saturday!

I love them all, but DVD is AMAZING. I might be breaking my no buy for that. (Lord, I love glitter.)

Thanks for posting these! Such great colors. How many coats did you use for these photos?

Hi Laura,
I used three thicker coats on each one. Spectrum is the sheerest of the group and even after three applications you can still still my Visible Nail Line. Really, I could have used an additional coat.

The colors are just beautiful! I keep staring at the photos...lol
I read on the web, I think it was MUA, that these polishes have a very long drying time. Is that what you found also?
Thanks!

I just saw these at CVS and I wanted to see swatches of them. The colors look quite different than in the bottle. I loved DVD, Spectrum, and Laser in the bottle... Now I am torn.. they were around $7 at the store so it's hard to choose just one..
