LA Colors Metallic Series Nail Polish Set

LA Colors Color Craze

Product: LA Colors Color Craze Metallic Series Nail Polish Set .44 oz/ea
Price:  $2.99/set of 4
Steph's Rating: 3.8 Kisses
Buy it: CVS Pharmacy
Big 3 Free: Yes!

Look what's hiding out at your CVS Pharmacy. LA Colors introduces a limited edition set of four metallic series polishes to the color craze line for $2.99. That breaks down to less than $.75 a pop!

Each color ranges from a metallic foil finish to a jelly with glass fleck shimmer. Please Note: Since these shades come in a packaged set, there are no official nail polish names.

Are you guys ready for swatches?

LA Colors Teal Metallic Nail Polish

LA Colors Color Craze Metallic Series

Teal totally caught me off guard at first. I was expecting a thin, glassy fleck jelly like LA Girl's Head Banging. Instead, it's a straight up metallic foil that's nearly opaque in one coat! And if you ask me, I'll gladly pay $2.99 just for this color alone.

It's described as a bright, green based teal with flecks of silver.

LA Girl Gray Metallic Nail Polish

LA Colors Color Craze Metallic Series

Charcoal is a light charcoal gray with metallic silver flecks. With two coats or more it only gets better. The color turns into a deep gunmetal and takes on a steel effect.

LA Colors Purple Metallic Nail Polish

LA Colors Color Craze Metallic Series

Purple is a purple filled with flecks of heavy blue and pink shimmer.

LA colors Pink metallic nail polish

LA Colors Color Craze Metallic Series

There's usually an oddball with most gift sets, but this is far from a dud. Pink is a deep pink with red and pink shimmer flecks.

Overall, what's not to love? It's a killer deal priced at $2.99 for a set of full sized bottles. Big 3 Free. Metallic, Foil, Glass Flecks. Winner!

Have you seen this set at your store? If so, has anyone picked this up? Have a wonderful weekend!

I saw these at my CVS and almost picked them up. They\'re great colors, but not very unique, and I thought they\'d be sheer, too. I wonder if they line up with some of the core colors? Might need these after all... Thanks for swatches! ☺

I picked this up a few weeks ago but hadn't tried it yet because I was afraid they would be too sheer. They look great, though! I'm going to have to try mine soon!

I saw them and grabbed them! I'm keeping all but the pink, which will go to my niece. Thanks for swatching; I hadn't had a chance to try them yet!

Hi Steph,
Love your blog. You wrote: Always wrap the free edge or tip throughout each step. I didn't see this step in the video. Could you please explain how to do the wrap process and with what material. Thank you.

I am wondering if these gel polishes can be used with other gels. I have a different system with a different brand of base coat and top coat, can the different brands of gel mix?

I've had my kit for a couple of months now and love the way it lasts; but the Structure and Brilliance brushes are starting to stiffen and so is the gel in the bottles. Anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to thin them out?

Hi, does anyone know if I can thin out the red carpet base coat so that it is easier to apply?

Hi Prinzy,
It was a gorgeous color! I remember picking up a few bottles because I loved the color so much! lol! Actually, yes, I'm launching a store in the next couple of weeks. I have everything built, I'm just working on the Terms and Conditions right now, so it should be very, very soon.

I only have about 10 Studio M colors in the store currently, but I will be taking special pre-orders once it opens.

Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about retail stores, but you can still find them on

Can I still buy them in the stores now?

I've been playing with this system for about a month now. I love it! When I first started I used the clear just so I could get a feel for it. Then I got adventurous and tried a "sandwich" with a China Glaze color. It probably would have stayed on longer if I had been able to seal off the edges, but my nails were so short it was a bit difficult. The next time I used RCM gel polish in Simply Stunning (a pale slightly shimmery nude color). This time I had gotten enough practice to really make my coats thin and it worked out fabulous. I'm trying to send all my friends the Ulta 20% coupon (5/26 is the last day) so they can get a kit for about $64. :) Now I hope to get a little creative with color combos and nail design. Thanks for the review.
