Sneak Peek: Avon Nailwear in Splendid Blue

Avon Splendid Blue Nail Polish

Avon Nailwear Pro Holiday Color

Glassy Fleck flnishes hold a special place in my heart, so it's no wonder that I'm excited about Avon's new Ultra Sparkle collection featuring two limited edition shades, Splendid Blue and Pink Radiance. Today I'm giving you a sneak peek at the gorgeous blue.

Splendid Blue ($5.00) is a medium blue loaded down with silver and a hint of turquoise micro glitter. The glitter isn't like your standard micro glitter. It's metallic particles resembling a glassy, foil like texture.

Don't mind my three coat application, because this is by far a two coater with excellent coverage and zero application issues. Avon's formula is Big 3 Free of formaldehyde, toluene and phthalates.

Check out a comparison swatch below.

Blue Nail Polish Comparisons

Even though the lighting makes all three look close, each color is different in their own way. The closest comparable I have is China Glaze Midnight Mission, except it's a much deeper shade of blue. Splendid Blue has just a touch of turquoise that keeps it lightened up.

Splendid Blue and Pink Radiance will launch in campaign 25 for a limited time only. The Nailwear Pro polishes retails between $3.99 - $5.00/ea.

What do you think of Avon's Splendid Blue? Will you be checking out this color? Have a wonderful weekend!

Candi,
I know it's such a cliche, but practice makes perfect! After two years and hundreds of swatches later, I eventually caught on LOL! I promise a video is in the making! Give it a week or two :)

I really love when you post a photo comparing the colour to others. It gives me a better idea as to whether or not I already have something similar in my collection. And as always, your nails are cute as a button! :) Gorgeous swatches!

ooh I think Splendid Blue is gorgeous. It looks very velvety :) quick question: what kind of brush do you use for cuticle cleanup?

Hi Makeup Morsels and Brandi,
It's so much prettier in person! I'm actually VERY horrible at cleaning up my cuticles with a brush since I have very small nail beds, so I had no choice but to learn how to paint my nails perfectly. The only thing I use is a toothpick and soy nail polish remover, and I usually cleanup as I paint :)

Thank you so much for posting this, you really saved me! I've ordered Splendid Blue but my rep hasn't delivered it yet and was *this* close to buy online Midnight Mission.

Hi Steph,
Love your blog. You wrote: Always wrap the free edge or tip throughout each step. I didn't see this step in the video. Could you please explain how to do the wrap process and with what material. Thank you.

I am wondering if these gel polishes can be used with other gels. I have a different system with a different brand of base coat and top coat, can the different brands of gel mix?

I've had my kit for a couple of months now and love the way it lasts; but the Structure and Brilliance brushes are starting to stiffen and so is the gel in the bottles. Anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to thin them out?

Hi, does anyone know if I can thin out the red carpet base coat so that it is easier to apply?

Hi Prinzy,
It was a gorgeous color! I remember picking up a few bottles because I loved the color so much! lol! Actually, yes, I'm launching a store in the next couple of weeks. I have everything built, I'm just working on the Terms and Conditions right now, so it should be very, very soon.

I only have about 10 Studio M colors in the store currently, but I will be taking special pre-orders once it opens.

Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about retail stores, but you can still find them on amazon.com.

Can I still buy them in the stores now?

I've been playing with this system for about a month now. I love it! When I first started I used the clear just so I could get a feel for it. Then I got adventurous and tried a "sandwich" with a China Glaze color. It probably would have stayed on longer if I had been able to seal off the edges, but my nails were so short it was a bit difficult. The next time I used RCM gel polish in Simply Stunning (a pale slightly shimmery nude color). This time I had gotten enough practice to really make my coats thin and it worked out fabulous. I'm trying to send all my friends the Ulta 20% coupon (5/26 is the last day) so they can get a kit for about $64. :) Now I hope to get a little creative with color combos and nail design. Thanks for the review.
