Sally Hansen A Girl's Best Friend

Sally Hansen A Girls Best Friend

I'm back from vacation! Did you guys miss me? I've surely missed you these last couple of weeks. While I was enjoying some internet free time off, one thing that stayed right by my side or shall I say on my nails-- A Girl's Best Friend ($3.99) from Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength Fall Display.

A Girl's Best Friend, which I totally get the name, is described as a clear top coat with glassy flecks of gold glitter and silver diamond dust shimmer.

Check out A Girl's Best Friend layered over KO's Black Matte.

Even though one layer dispenses the perfect amount of glitter, you can't help but add another coat for that ultra sparkle!

A Girl's Best Friend over Various Colors

From shimmer to creme textures, A Girl's Best Friend jazzes up any plain ole Jane. As you can see above, it looks great with practically every color.

Overall, let's just say I picked up a back up bottle at Meijer!

Sally Hansen's A Girl's Best Friend is now available for a limited time and retails between $3.99 - $4.99/ea.

What do you think of glitter top coats? Have a wonderful night!

I love how you've shown this glitter top coat over several different colors. Gives me a great idea of the different looks you can achieve. Reminds me that I need to bust out my glitter top coats more often!

Is this the same as SH Diamond Strength "Diamonds"? Can't seem to find the one with the longer name, & they appear the same from what I can see . . .

Hi Victoria,
No, but it's slightly similar. It doesn't have the gold glassy fleck glitter, which is the best part. A Girl's Best Friend should be in a separate display.

Hi Steph,
Love your blog. You wrote: Always wrap the free edge or tip throughout each step. I didn't see this step in the video. Could you please explain how to do the wrap process and with what material. Thank you.

I am wondering if these gel polishes can be used with other gels. I have a different system with a different brand of base coat and top coat, can the different brands of gel mix?

I've had my kit for a couple of months now and love the way it lasts; but the Structure and Brilliance brushes are starting to stiffen and so is the gel in the bottles. Anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to thin them out?

Hi, does anyone know if I can thin out the red carpet base coat so that it is easier to apply?

Hi Prinzy,
It was a gorgeous color! I remember picking up a few bottles because I loved the color so much! lol! Actually, yes, I'm launching a store in the next couple of weeks. I have everything built, I'm just working on the Terms and Conditions right now, so it should be very, very soon.

I only have about 10 Studio M colors in the store currently, but I will be taking special pre-orders once it opens.

Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure about retail stores, but you can still find them on

Can I still buy them in the stores now?

I've been playing with this system for about a month now. I love it! When I first started I used the clear just so I could get a feel for it. Then I got adventurous and tried a "sandwich" with a China Glaze color. It probably would have stayed on longer if I had been able to seal off the edges, but my nails were so short it was a bit difficult. The next time I used RCM gel polish in Simply Stunning (a pale slightly shimmery nude color). This time I had gotten enough practice to really make my coats thin and it worked out fabulous. I'm trying to send all my friends the Ulta 20% coupon (5/26 is the last day) so they can get a kit for about $64. :) Now I hope to get a little creative with color combos and nail design. Thanks for the review.
