Sneak Peek at Avon's Gunmetal Nail Enamel
Debuting in Avon's Valentines issue, The Onyx Luster Collection. A limited edition color collection consisting of Glimmerstick Eye Liners, Tri Shadow Compact, Tri Lip Gloss, and Nailwear Pro Nail Enamels inspired by the lacquered look of black onyx.
Night Violet, a deep purple shimmer and Gunmetal, a charcoal gray shimmer are the newest members to grace the Nailwear Pro line. And today I have your first look at Gunmetal.
After seeing the campaign images, I visualized Gunmetal as a charcoal black metallic like Chanel Steel, but I was completely wrong. One thing I'm happy about, it's actually gray... NOT black nor a true metallic finish.
At first glance the shimmer looks silver, but when you get up close and personal you'll see flashes of pink and green microshimmer with a subtle metallic glow.
Check out a quick comparison below.
The Candidates: Chanel Steel, Maybelline Gray-T Glamour, and Icing Summer Nights. Here is a quick comparison to give you an idea where Gunmetal falls on the gray scale. It's not quite as black as Steel and not quite as light as Gray-T. Just perfect!
Overall - Great Color, Perfect Application, Big 3 Formula - Gunmetal is a winner in my book!
Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Enamels retail for $5.00/ea and can be purchased at Avon.com or through your local Avon Rep. The Onyx Luster Collection will launch with Campaign 3 and should be available online in mid January.
Who else is loving Gunmetal? Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hey, does anyone remember the metallic grayish silver color Milani came out with in the spring/summer 2010 on a limited edition display? Thanks

Hi Karlene,
It was PC Girl from the Liquid Metals Collection. Pretty much a dupe of Orly's Foil FX Shine. Here's a display picture if you wanna to take a peek:

I love your reviews, they are the best of the web. I love how Avon copies on trend colors. This Gun Metal color reminds me of FingerPaints color called Meet Me at the Met. Definitely rivals Chanel Black Pearl.
