How To Thicken and Strengthen Your Eye Lashes

Are your eye lashes thin and brittle?  Try coating your eyes and lashes with Cetaphil Moisturizing Creme every night.  Give 3-4 weeks for best results, along with a good nights rest.

To prevent lashes from falling out use a good mascara like, Chanel Inimitable, that will not make your lashes stiff and brittle.  If you would like more protection try, Clinque lash building primer before applying mascara.  Avoid rubbing your eyes, it tends to pull and loosen the eye lashes and ultimately fall out.

I personally use Cetaphil moisturizing creme on my whole entire face every night.  Lately, I've been coating my eyes with this stuff, because winter dryness, and noticed a dramatic change not only in my eye lashes thickening, but, growing super fast.  Just be sure you don't get the creme in your eyes.  I made that mistake once.  OOOPS!  It burned a little, but, I just washed them out with water, and I was good as new.  The good news is, the creme is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic, which won't break you out.

How To Make Your Brushes Last Longer

The key to long lasting makeup brushes, clean them regularly!  Keep brushes clean and bacteria free by washing at least once every week with Baby Shampoo or a gentle cleanser.  Snip away frayed ends to give that flawless application.  Make sure you shape brissles right after cleansing and let air dry.

TIP: Invest in a good makeup brush.  It may be expensive initially, but, in the long run it will pay off.  Some of my brushes are 11+ years old!  I try to stay away from brush sets.  I know it's hard, because it's a great deal.  But, in most cases "sets" are usually processed through a machine compared to hand glued, and there is a big difference!  Brush sets are ideal if you are a beginner or even a daily makeup user.  But, if your serious about makeup, a quality brush is a must!

Note: Not washing your makeup brushes regularly can cause acne break-outs, and skin irritations due to bacteria that lives in your brushes!  Eww!  So, if you have any mysterious breakouts or skin irritations you may want to clean your brushes or any tools you use on a regular basis.

Nail Polish of the Day: Dior Golden Nugget

Nail Polish of the Day: Dior Golden Nugget

These last two days has just been horrendous in the KY and OH region.  Tornados, thunderstorms, and flooding, oh my!  Hopefully, everyone else is staying dry and cool today.  Two straight days of constant stroms has me feeling quite blah.  I felt the need to spice it up a little with Diors gorgeous, Golden Nugget nail polish.

I know many of you have asked me about my nail polish swatches.  And, I apologize for my lack of posts but, my nails have been going through a little rehab.  Sometimes it's best to chop 'em all off and start fresh.  Rescue my nails book gave me some great tips on how to get my nails in top-notch shape.  Great book, ya'll should check it out!

Today was the first chance I had to wear Dior Golden Nugget polish.  And, it's a gorgeous bronze metallic nail polish with gold shimmer.  Throughtout the day I kept glancing down at my nails admiring this gorgeous summer color as the light brings out the nautral gold shimmer.  I really think this color is going to appeal to ladies of color and warmer skin tones.  It's more of a deeper bronze color but, the gold shimmer shines like the sun.  This color looks great paired up with Dior's new Eyeshadow quint in Golds 569 ($54).  A new release in their summer collection 2008.  Check out the photo swatches below.

Christian Dior 5 Color Eyeshadow in Golds 569

Summer beauty trends are pretty much a given.  From year to year it usually never changes admiring the traditional sun goddess.  Color shades of: Bronze, Golds, and Coppers.  All colors that are right up my alley, that I never get tired of.  Dior 5 colour iridescent eyeshadow quint in golds includes shades of: dark copper, light gold, champagne, golden olive (green-gold) and gold.  This is one of my favorite quints that I purchased this season.  Dior's quints have great color pay-off and staying power.

I have a ton of nail polish swatches that I'll be posting in the next couple weeks.  Being in nail rehab has my swatches backed up big time.  Some of the collections include: Essie's Summer, OPI Mod about brights, Zoya and some others.  Stay tuned.

Have a great day peeps!

xoxo

Hi Nyx,
Yeah, you have to let them dry a good amount of time, but it shouldn't be that long?. Did you shake the pen before each use to mix up the formula? I know that was my problem at first. Hopefully that helps :)

Hi there, I got the black and silver, but I can't get them to work. Mine look kind of watery when I put them on and kinda melt. How long do you let yours dry? I think that might be my problem
