Trend Alert: Chanel Blue Satin Nail Polish SS 2008

I can remember when Chanel introduced Limited Edition Black Satin 219 nail polish back in 2006.  This popular nail polish was flying off the shelves left and right.  It was going for $50-$100 per bottle on ebay, when its nomally priced at $19.  Celebrities even confessed to the extremes they went through just to get a bottle.  Luckily, I purchased Black Satin before it was impossible to find.  Due to it's popular demand, Chanel brought it back, and is now one of their stocked colors.

So, what is it about Chanel limited edition nail polish colors that makes everyone so crazy?  The beautiful, rich unique colors but, most importantly the name Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel's fashion designer, extraordinarily passionate, assertive, and undeniably brilliant.  How can we expect any less than that, we can't!

Chanel is introducing Blue Satin, a limited edition color for Spring 2008.  I was one of the lucky ones that pre-ordered 2 bottles online from Neiman Marcus.  This is going to be hotter than the Black Satin craze.  If you can get your hands on some, I suggest you act fast!  Chanel is keeping quiet about this one, but, I expect them to release mid-December to Janurary.  The Sales Assosicates (SA's) at the Chanel counter are pretty useless when it comes to release dates, so my advice, don't waste your time trying to get information from them until the day it is released.

If you are a fan of OPI Russian Navy like I am, you will absolutely love Chanel Blue Satin.  I expect my order to come in before Janurary 1st.  Don't forget to enter your chance to win a free bottle of Chanel Blue Satin.

MAC Metal-X: A New Generation of Eye Shadow

A cream to powder metallic shadow that provides liquid metal effects. Goes on smoothly, blends like a charm. An extremely luxurious highlight/finish for eyes, cheeks and skin.

The colors pictured are Virgin Silver: A Metallic silver with white pearl and Plum Electric: a Deep purple with red pearl, which is the hottest color this season.  The Virgin Silver and the Plum Electric are the only two shadows I picked up on this collection.  Plum Electric is by far the best color of the Metal X eye shadows.  One reason I love the Virgin Silver is it's perfect for highlighting and for your lid, so you can avoid those crease lines.

My Review.  This isn't like most MAC eye shadows out there.  Most reviews have mainly been negative due to the consistency.  To get the best results you must put this eye shadow on with your fingers and do not use a makeup brush.  This eye shadow is not crease resistant, So, be sure you apply as a highlighter or on the eye lid.  Overall, this eye shadow is okay as long as you are patient enough to work with it.

Chanel Blue Satin 461: It's been officially released

It's officially here, Chanel Limited Edition Blue Satin nail polish.  It's a beautiful to die for color! Certainly a must have color for the spring! Blue is going to be the "IT" color for spring 2008.  So, be sure you get your hands on some, quick! It's already selling out at the Chanel counters and going for $60 a bottle on ebay! And, It was just released!  

Orginially, I pre-ordered from Neiman Marcus, but, due to the high volume of backorders, they are heavily delayed and will have to cancel many orders.  So, I wasn't about to wait and take that chance.  I jumped in my car and headed to the nearest Chanel counter.  Luckily, they had very few left.  I must say it is totally worth the wait.  This color is going to be "IT".  Ever since I saw Emily, in The Devil wears Prada, I've been waiting for Chanel to come out with a Blue color.  OPI Russian Navy fans this color is very similar, but,  Russian Navy has more pink-ish undertones tones, and Blue Satin does not.  That's one of the reason why I love Blue Satin as opposed to Russian Navy.

MAC Cosmetics: A Mei Review and Swatches

A Mei Amore! Growl!  Can I just say how impressed I am over this collection!  For starters, the details on the eye shadow palettes are incredible!  Beautiful stitching!  And, the packaging is to die for, of course!  The Biggest hit of this collection, that you will hear me raving on about, is the lipstick, Siss!  OMG!  If you love neutrals, you have to have this lipstick!  In my personal opinion, it is the best true "nude" lipstick out there!  But, I knew this lipstick was going to be a hit because it sold out in a matter of hours online.  

LIPSTICKS: Siss, A Muted golden beige (satin).  This is a completely nude lipstick.  When I hear the term "nude," the first thing that comes to mind is Christian Louboutin nude high heel shoes.  And, that is exaclty the color of this lipstick.  It is not sheer whatsoever, it is a matte to satin lipstick.  I have been on a hunt for a true nude beige lipstick for so long, and I am so excited about this!  This literally sold out in a matter of hours when MAC released it online.  Good news is MAC has it back online, and it's only a limited supply, So don't miss out!  Ruby Woo, A Vivid blush red (matte).  This is a very pretty and intense matte red lipstick.  I would almost have to describe it as a Christina Auguilera red.  I love bold red colors, so I was quite pleased with the color also.

LIPGLASS: She's a star, A Lustre-shined light neutral gold (Frost).  This is a must have with the Siss lipstick.  Since the lipstick is a matte to satin, the lipglass gives it a polished look, which is gorgeous.  Love Rules, A Fuchsia with white sparkle pearl.  This is more a a dark fushia pink color with alot of shimmer.  The MAC website swatch looks completely lilac purple, and it's not at all!  It gives Ruby Woo that kick and shine it needs if you don't like matte lipstick.  For those who didn't get a chance at the Malibu Barbie lipglass, from the almost instantly sold out, Barbie loves MAC collection, well Love Rules is VERY VERY similar.  The only difference is Love Rules is just a tad bit darker, but, just as shiny and beautiful as Malibu Barbie Lipglass.  I'm going to try to get a swatch up today comparing Love Rules and Malibu Barbie.

EYE SHADOWS: Bold Eyes. Three shades of Eye Shadow Venus (S), Freshwater (VP), and Carbon in a compact featuring the traditional needlework pattern of A Mei’s native Taiwan embroidered onto a plaque insert.  Venus and Freshwater are MAC standard colors.  Freshwater was my favorite out of these colors.  Neutral Eyes, Three shades of Eye Shadow Vanilla (V), Mulch (V), and Brown Down (VX) in a black compact featuring the traditional needlework pattern of A Mei’s native Taiwan embroidered onto a plaque insert.  All three are MAC standard colors.  Overall, the eye shadows packaging was more impressive than the colors.  But, if you don't have these colors, it's well worth it.  A 213 SE eye brush is included in both palettes.

Overall, I loved this collection.  Buy worthy is the lipsticks and lipglasses.  If you love nude, and I do mean "nude" Siss lipstick is for you.  It can also be spiced up by a pink or peachy lipglass that would look great.  I love this color so much,  that I'm going to order me another one before they are gone!  Update: The Siss lipstick sold out AGAIN, in just hours after MAC recieved some in stock! Ruby Woo lipstick has also sold out.  If you had a chance to get this, please let me know how you like it!

Blue is Back: Chanels 2008 Spring Collection

Chanel's Spring/Summer 2008 collection line is focused around blues, and pastels.  Last week I had a chance to preview the collection early, and picked up some goodies.  Blue is going to be the "IT" color for Spring/Summer 2008, if you haven't already noticed.  I have to say this collection is Smoking Hot!  GRRR

Chanel Nail Polishes for 2008.  Blue Satin (actual pictures above), Azur (actual pictures above), White Satin, and Rose Satin.  My favorite picks are Blue Satin and Azur.  Blue Satin is to die for, and if have read my previous articles, this is already selling out like hotcakes.  Azur is my second pick.  It is more translucent than it actually appears but, looks great over Blue Satin and is definitely buy worthy.  I passed on the Rose Satin and White Satin, they are nice colors, but, nothing spectacular.

Chanel Eye Shadows.  Now, this is where Chanel hit the jackpot.  The Les 4 Ombres in Bleu Cèlestes (actual pictures above), is quite frankly the BEST Blue quad I have seen period!  It is absolutely gorgeous and is definitely a must have for spring.  The 4 Fleurs in Ferries, Camelias quad (actual pictures above), is also very beautiful.  Almost too beautiful to even use!  If I had to pick one, I would definitely go with the Bleu Cèlestes. 

Some of my other favorites that I will be purchasing: Chanel Inimitable mascara in Noir-indigo, and Crayon Lèvres Cardamone.  The Crayon is a great shade of blue, and I know a lot of you have been looking for a good blue pencil, so, here it is!

Overall, I loved this collection.  The definite must haves are Blue Satin nail polish and The Les 4 Ombres in Bleu Cèlestes.  I have a feeling both of these items will be sell-outs.  So, be sure to get an early start!

Mac Cosmetics: Sculpt and Shape Collection

MAC Cosmetics released Sculpt and Shape collection on Dec 26, 2007.  A more provocative foray into the fine art of sculpture.  Silky, jet-milled highlighting powder followed up with matte contour powder finish to embolden the shapes and volumes of your own personal work of modern art.  Be an artist in full command of your medium.

Sculpt and Shape Powders.  A duo-pan shaded compact featuring a contour and a highlight powder in shades selected to complement each other. Professional formula. Jet-milled, ultra-smooth to apply: provides almost imperceptible shading. Use to shape and define the facial planes, or define the shape of the eye.  Available in 4 different colours.

These powders are not new to MAC.  They are available at most of the MAC PRO stores, but sold as two seperate colors.  So, you are getting 2 for the price of 1, without the double price tag.  I've been wanting to try these ever since they were released at the PRO store.  But, everytime they have sold out like hotcakes.

MAC also released three new makeup brushes in this collection. 

MAC 138 Tapered Brush.  Domed brush of ultra-soft, natural fibres featuring a slightly pointed tip with round chiselled sides. Specially designed to streamline and enhance the makeup technique of sculpting and shaping.  US$52.00.

 

 

MAC 169 Angled Brush.  Synthetic, angled for precision, this brush is specially designed for the application/blending of face or cheek product.

MAC: Sculpt and Shape Swatches, Reviews

I purchased the color Accentuate/Sculpt (actual picture above).  The shade description: Pale blushed beige/soft taupe brown.  My skin tone is Dark Light to Medium.  I don't usually use MAC's foundation or powder because my skin is very sensitive and tends to break out easily.  But, when the SA told me it was non-acnegenic and dermatologist tested, I thought I would give it a shot.  And, have to say I absolutely LOVE this product!  The best news is it works perfectly with my skin.  I love conturing and highlighting powders, and if you've never tried counturing this is your chance to try it for a fairly reasonable price of $21.00.  Unfortanetly, I'm not the lucky ones to have perfect cheekbones, but this powder certain gives the delusion of it (if applied correctly), and that's what I love about it so much! 

I use the lighter color on the top on my cheekbone, and the darker color in the middle of my cheekbone.  Be careful on the darker color because you dont want to put too much or you will have a noticeable darker streak.  If the darker color is too dark, try mixing both colors together.  I also use the lighter color as a highlighter on my forehead, temples, and nose.  To make this look absolutely gorgeous, use MAC's emote blush.  This blush was released in the Storm Signals Collection (My all time favorite collection in 2007), as a limited edition color, So, I'm not sure if it would be hard to find or not.  Since, I love this powder so much, I will be also purchasing Warm Light/Definitive for Summer.  A Clean peach/mid-tone reddish brown, for much darker skin tones.

 

Above are the Sculpt and Shape product swatches for Accentuate/Sculpt.  No base was used on this product swatch.  I also wanted to show that the two colors mixed, creates a nice color that isn't too bold.

MAC also released three new makeup brushes in this collection.  The only one that really intrigued me was the 138.  It is the perfect brush, espically for MAC's Sculpt and Shape powders but, I just couldn't justify spending $52.00.   Espically, when MAC has so many great collections coming up in spring/summer 2008 that I need to save my money for.  Not to worry though, the 138 is going to be a permanent brush.  I'm almost confident that these powders will work for anyone.  Just make sure you get the correct color for your skin tone and most importantly a good brush.  I cannot stress how important it is to use makeup brushes.  They are the most important tool for a flawless and sanitary makeup application.  If you cannot afford a MAC brush, try Sonia Kashuk brushes available at Target stores.  I have found that some Kashuk brushes are better than MAC and for a great price.

MAC Cosmetics Authentics Review and Swatches

The Above is an actual picture of the MAC Authentics Face Palette that I took this morning (I felt like being creative today)!  At first, I really wasn't thrilled about this collection.  I only ordered this because I was given a Macy's gift card for Christmas.  I have to say, I am pretty excited I did.

The very first thing that caught my eye on this palette was the blush color.  It is a very peachy to deep coral color that will look gorgeous for Spring and Summer.  So, I am quite pleased with the blush.  Blackberry is one of MAC's standard eye shadow colors.  A purplish-brownish color, perfect for crease lines.  The Moss Spot is a gorgeous moss greenish-yellow shadow that looks beautiful with green eyes espically.  Total Bliss is my favorite out of the bunch.  It is a light neutral beige with pink reflects, which is great for a highlighter also.  I am pleased with all the eye shadow colors.  Although, I don't think I would wear them all together at once.  But, don't knock it until you tried it, right?  So, I will be trying the look soon.  Another reason I like this palette so much is, you can toss it in your purse, pocket, back-pack,  and have a blush, eyeshadow (s), highlighter, and 213 SE brush.  It is perfect for those stay overs and for quick, on-the-go touch-ups.

I used two different kinds of bases on these eye shadow swatches.  The top set is used with MAC Paint in Sublime Nature, which is more of a matte based texture.  The Bottom set is used with MAC Paint Pot, Bare Study, a shimmery paint.  Overall, I think the matte paint had more color payoff and a slight shimmer to it, which was perfect.

On the Blush, I did not use any base underneath.  I absolutely love this peach coral color.  It looks great on darker skin tones as well as lighter skin tones.  Remember, this is an exclusive, limited edition palette, and only available at Macy's and other fine federated department stores.  This is not available at any of the MAC Stores or online.  If you are somewhat on the fence about this, I would go ahead and purchase it.   You can't go wrong with this face palette.  Your getting: 1 Blush, 3 eyeshadows, compact mirror, 213 MAC eye brush, all for $34.00.  Would you buy this palette?

MAC, you are killing me and my bank account, literally!  The, A Mei Collection, is now available online.  Not only did the A Mei Collection release today, So, did the N Color Collection!  My Wallet just can't take this abuse!  But, I just can't say NO!  Really, there should be a some kind of AAA classes for MAC, because I know there's alot of us out there!

This morning, at 5am to be precise, I was writing an article for my blog, and I saw the MAC Cosmetics email pop up.  It went down hill from that point on!  I knew MAC would be releasing these two collections about the same time.  I ordered the entire, A Mei Collection, as soon as I received my email.  The MAC Sales Associate told me last week that this was limited production collection which basically means, it will sell out super fast.  Siss, A Muted golden beige (satin) lipstick (not pictured), has already SOLD OUT online in a matter hours!  If your a MAC lover, you know never to wait until the last minute on these limited edition collections!   And, I am so glad I snatched these up! Their has been countless times I've debated on something and ended up missing out on it, because I waited to long.  And, I forbid to pay those outrageous prices on Ebay.

One thing I'm really excited to see is the eye shadow palettes (even though most are standard MAC colors), and the Siss lipstick that sold out in a matter of hours online.  "Blue and nudes are definitely the "IT' color for Spring/Summer 2008.

MAC Cosmetics: Fafi Website Coming Soon

MAC Cosmetics: Fafi Collection Color Story

These pictures clearly speak for themselves!  WOW, was my first expression when seeing these product photos back in December of 2007.   There is always one or two collections that will be a huge hit, and this is going to be one of them!  I'd never thought any collection could top Barbie loves MAC, but, I may be wrong!  So many things I'm looking forward to seeing in these collection.  Paint Pots, Blush, Eye Shadow Palette's, Nail Polish, Lipstick, Lipglass, Fafi Doll's (not pictured but, will sell out super duper fast), and the cosmetics bags.  Which, pretty much sums up the whole collection!  Last year, around the same time as Barbie love MAC was released, the Barbie Dolls sold-out instantly, and were going for $400+ on ebay. 

Fafi, a french Graffiti and Fine Art Graphic Artist, who is known for her images of sexy and liberated girls.  Her drawling and graffiti's are absolutely amazing!  If you've never seen any of her Drawling's or Graffiti's, click here to check them out.

MAC for Fafi: Fafi T-Shirt and Product Photos

Look what I stumbled upon today at my MAC store!  And, she thought she could get away without a picture, I think not!  What a great way to start the day.  My trip to the mall today was so eventful, and I'm excited to bring some back some news!  Not only did I get to preview Fafi, and Slimshine, drum roll please....Chanel Summer 2008 Makeup Collection!  Yes, that's right another collection and it's not even spring yet!  Bring on the summer!  Let me give you a little hint, Hello PINK!  A limited edition eyeshadow quad, and one of the colors is an awesome bright pink.  Two new nail colors are introduced in this collection.  Flamingo, a bright pink and Antilope a golden brown.  Sometime in March this collection will be releasing.  I'm going to need crazy pills for all these collections!

Initially, when MAC lauched the Fafi website I wasn't really attracted to the t-shirts.  It was just something I bypassed because, for the price, I can get a quad or two lipsticks, etc.  But, they are SO cute!  Seriously, when you see them on, their adorable!  This shirt literally speaks "Bad Ass!"  Espically with some Black Satin nail polish.  If your somewhat interested in these, do not wait, they will go fast being an Online Exclusive only!

After seeing all the Fafi swatches, and reading all the information from the MAC website, I have a pretty long lost of items that I'm interested in, and can't wait to play around with colors on February 14th.  I'm trying to avoid to crowd on release day.

Firstly, being a lipstick gal, I'm mostly excited about them.  The MA said really good things about the texture, so I'm really hoping it's true!  There is 4 out of the 6 colors that I'm looking forward to trying out.  Eyeshadows are also a big thing for me.  I am loving the Fafi Quad 1.  But, I'm just not to sure about the Quad 2.  It's colors that I normally wouldn't pick out, but, I'm not knocking it down.  I'm having my MA do me up, and if it's a go, I'll definitely take pictures to show everyone.  As far as the merchandise, I'm ordering all that online.  I'm not even taking the chance.  Last year, everything sold out at my store in a matter of one hour, with the Barbie loves MAC collection.  And, this isn't the first time this has happened.  I'm hoping MAC releases it online early, like they usually do with other collections.  But, don't hold your breath, because who knows. I'll probably get all 3 dolls ($9.00 each, I thought they be alot more expensive), T-shirt, after seeing it today, and the scarve.  If you love to put scarves in your hair this is a must!

Chanel Summer 2008 Makeup: Product Photos

Another collection?  That's right, it's not even Spring yet!  Doesn't it seem like Chanel is always the first ones to release their collections early?  I love summer and I sure am loving this limited edition eyeshadow quad and their two new nail polishes!  

Stay tuned as I will post the color story.  I'm waiting for Chanel to verify the limited edition items.  Hopefully, I will have that up today.  This collection is set to release sometime in March.  

I do know that this eyeshadow quad is a limited edition item.  This colors in this quad is absolutely stunning.  A bright pink, peach, light green, and bronze.  Two new limited edition nail colors are also introduced in this collection.  Flamingo, a bright pink and Antilope, a golden brown.  Oh boy, I can't wait to see these nail colors.

There is a couple of items I'm really looking forward to in this collection.  Lumieres Facettes (limited edition), the colours are beautiful bronzed in this eyeshadow quad along with a gorgeous pink color.  Inimitable Emeraude, a jade green mascara and last but not least, the limited edition nail colours.  I can't wait to see Flamingo, a bright pink and the golden bronze.  I expect one of those if not both to be sold out colours.  There is alot of greens in this collection.  Do I see a Jade Green nail polish for the fall of 2008?  Oh, I hope so!  What nail colour would you like to see Chanel come out with for fall?

MAC Cosmetics: Fafi Merchandise Haul

MAC Cosmetics officially releases the Fafi Collection nationwide to MAC stores, and other fine department stores.  Here is some of the merchandise that I picked up online, because I knew my store wouldn't have stock. 

Small Fafi Cosmetic Bag.  Limited Edition.  $25.00 USD.  This has to be my favorite item of my merchandise haul.  It is the perfect size.  Don't let the "small" mis-lead you in anyway.  This is not small by any means.  In the picture above, I put 5 MAC Lipsticks and 4 Lipglasses, and you can see it's not even half full.  So, it has plenty of room.  I also might pick up the mini one, so I can keep in my purse filled with lipsticks, glosses, etc.  

Fafi Scarve.  $15.00 USD.  Limited Edition.  I really like the scarve, and at $15.00 it's quite a steal.  Put it in your hair, on your purse, or even around your neck!  This is a  "Sold Out Item" on the MAC website.  Hopefully, you can find it at your local store.

Fafi T-Shirt.  $38.00 USD.  Limited Edition.  Not as cute as Barbie loves MAC t-shirts, but, still buy worthy.  These shirts are really cute.  In my opinion, they look cuter if they are form fitted and paired up with the scarve as a bandana and some big hoop earrings.

 

Fafi Dolls.  Limited Edition $9.00 USD.  These are adorable and at $9.00 each, why not pick up one, two or even three!  The Dolls are pretty small, about the size of a MAC Lipglass.

Tomorrow, I am off to the MAC store to check out the makeup.  I didn't want to go today, because I get so claustrophobic when tons of people are in the store, when a collection releases.

MAC Cosmetics Fafi: Review and Swatches Part Two

Eye Shadow Quads. I purchased both of these eye shadow quads.  I honestly, did not expect to like Quad 2, but, that ended up being my favorite.

Quad 1.  Vanilla, a white color witha a velvet finish, that is good for highlighting.  Hey Neutral, a shimmery tan color, that is very pretty nude color.  Pink Venus, bright pink frosted color, that has great color payoff and texture.  Howzat, a dark gray-ish black color, good for crease lines.  

Quad 2.  Bold as Gold, a gorgeous shade of shimmery yellow-gold.  I really loved this color, perfect amout of shimmer that isn't over powering.  Shockwave, more of a shimmery tangerine color, that isn't as bright as it looks.  You're Fresh, as it looks green in the quad, it's quite sheer.  More of a greenish-yellowish shimmer.  Prankster, it may look navy blue, but, comes out more dark blue-blackish.

If you tend to play it safe, I would go for the Quad 1. If you are daring enough, I would definitely recommend purchasing Quad 2.  The colors may look funky, but, appear more sheerer than they actually look.

Paint Pots.  I absolutely love MAC's paint pots.  I purchased Cash Flow, and Perky.  I am planning to pick up Rollickin soon.  My favorite by far is Perky.

Perky, a coral-peach shimmer color, that is truely gorgeous, and the color pay-off is great.  This is a must have base for Quad 2.  Cash Flow, a goldish-brownish color, that is great with browns and neutral colors.  Rollickin, a tealish shimmery color, that looks great espically paired up with Parrot eyeshadow.  Nice Vice, a purplish brownish color, that was way too dark and purplish for my skintone (NC25).  Layin Low, a creamy flat brown beige color.  Girl Friendly, a very flat pink color.

 

 

Powder Blushes.   The powder blushes were something I didn't even look at twice until I saw in person.  They may appear "very bright" in their Fafi cases, but, that is not the case whatsoever.  The blushes have very  "build-able color".  I initially only purchased Hipness but, later purchased Fashion Frenzy.  It's really hard to choose between the two, because they are both equally beautiful.  

Fashion Frenzy, a medium cool pink matte color that is very buildable.  Just be careful with the blush brush, you can easily get outta control  with the blushes, which might reflect the brightness of the color.  Fashion Frenzy looks great with Quad 1, Sexy n Fun lipstick paired up with Totally It lipglass.  Hipness, a warm peach matte color with a small hint of pink.  Hipness looks great with Quad 2, Strawbaby lipstick, paired up with Sugar Trance lipglass.

Iridescent Mineralized Powders.  These powders are just gorgeous, and by far the best out of the Fafi collection.  If you love to sparkle and shine, then these powders are for you.  Unfortanetly, I could not get a good picture to justify the beauties of these powders with them being so sheer.  I purchased Verve-vacious, more of a golden bronzed color. 

Verve-vacious, a goldish bronzed powder with several pigmented gold flecks.  This is gorgeous, and can be used as a bronzing powder for summer also.  Sassed-Up, a soft golden peach-pinkish color.  I believe this color will be more appealing for everyone and the most popular.  Sassed-up is another one I would like to purchase, only if my bank account wasn't depleted by Fafi!  Belightful, a cooler brownish powder with gold specks.  Verve-vacious and Belightful were very similar in colors.  I opt for Verve-vacious because it's more becoming, and it's a limited edition color.

Nail Lacquer.  I purchased both of these colors, because I'm a nail polish freak!  However, I do think Girls will be Girl is more appealing than Boom.  Girls Will Be Girls, a pink with a specks of gold that makes it somewhat coral-ish.  The coral color is not very noticable to the naked eye.  If you prefer the sheerness, you will only need two coats.  However, In the picture above, I had to use 3 coats to cover my nail completely.  Boom, a burgandy color with specks of pink shimmer.  This metallic like color is very pretty, and looks great on nails.

Overall, Fafi is truely a great collection.  It offers alot of bright pink/corals, girly colors that are going to be "it" colors for spring/summer 2008.  Definite stand out items: Strawbaby and Fun n Sexy Lipstick, Sugar Trance and Totally It lipglass, Perky Paint Pot, and Sassed-Up mineralized powder.  The only items that are sold out nationwide is Fun n Sexy and Strawbaby lipstick.  But, they may still be available at your local MAC Store.

Dior: Limited Edition Poison Blue Nail Polish

Is there really a difference?  Of course there's a difference!  The main different I notice, the formula doesn't have much shimmer which makes this polished and perfected.  Poison Blue is a very high gloss, and very sophisicated nail polish look.  I really like the polished look of Dior Blue Poision.  This is a great look not only for Spring, but, for Fall 2008. 

Love the blue nail polish trend?  Don't worry, it's going to be here for a while!  Be on the look-out for some gorgeous Blue's and Green colors to arrive now throughout fall of 2008.  This color is very much appropriate to wear through summer and fall!  Have fun with it!

Essie: Style Berry Nail Polish

Essie and The Style Network have partnered to created a unique limited edition nail color that polishes everyone's style.  Style.Berry is inspired by Style networks classic logo colors.

This is the newest addition released from essie cosmetics.  Now, who doesn't love Pink!  I'm always a sucker for pink, so I'll definitely have to try this one out soon!  This color looks similar to another Essie favorite of mine, Jumpin Junkanoo.  But, it's hard to tell based on the pictures.

Dior Bleu Poison: Review and Photo Swatch

 

As ya'll know, I'm a little obsessed when it comes to blue nail polish so, I couldn't resist this one.  Dior just released Bleu Poison, an Sephora exclusive limited edition nail polish color, inspired by the legendary Dior Midnight Poison fragrance.  So, does it live up to the hype of all the other "navy blue" nail polishes out there?  How does it compare to the infamous Chanel Blue Satin?  I'll explain.

What's the difference?  Dior is a high-gloss, dark navy blue-blackish nail polish, with a slight hint of dark blue shimmer pigments.  Dior's formula is much thinner compared to Chanels Blue Satin, which made it a dream to apply.  Although, there is very little shimmer in this polish, it looks gorgeous in light, due to the perfect amout of shimmer to make this a very sophisticated polished look.

Dior proclaims long wearing, yeah right?  This formula is definitely long lasting and dreamy!  I love when I find a nail polish that is long lasting and easy to apply!  My manicure lasted me a good 7 "rough" days with no chipping.  So, thats is a plus in my book.  Check out the photo swatch below.

I love that fact that is more of a sophisticated glossy polish.  Perfect for the office, and those special night outs. Even though there is not much shimmer, it lets off the perfect amout of sparkle in the right light.

Blue Satin VS Bleu Poison.  One big difference is the consistency of the forumula.  Chanel's is much thicker than Dior which made it difficult to apply Blue Satin at times.  Another big difference, Blue Satin ususally looked dark blue-blackish is most lighting, except the sun.  Bleu Poison shimmers and sparkles in a sophisicated way in most lighting that isn't too overpowering.

Overall, I think that Dior's Blue Poison is much appropriate in the corporate world and the night life.  Also, perfect for those who love high-gloss cream polishes and those who like just a touch of shimmer.

My Current Obsession: Dior Pretty Charms

So, I was on my way to my local Dillards in Kenwood Mall.  I had one goal, to get a bottle of Chanel white satin nail polish and then run out as fast as I can!  Well, as ya'll can see that did not happen whatsoever.  As I was running outta there, the Dior makeup artist caught me, and when it comes to beauty I can't resist, you had me at hello!  Anyway, the makeup artist was great and I learned alot about Dior that I had never known before.  The only thing that really make me look twice was the limited edition Dior Pretty Charms, which retails for $40.  Keep in mind this is not a new product.  I beleive it made it's first debut back in 2006, and sold out instantly.  So, it's back by popular demand and only for a limited time!

What is it?  A couture inspired style with a heart shape locket that opens to two lip shades and a mirror. This locket contains one shade of lipstick in matte pink, and a shimmery bubblegum lip gloss.

What I like about it?  I love when I find a product that's not only fashionable and stylish but, is also versatile in so many ways.  Everything about this locket is so girly and feminine.  The crystals, the heart shape, and lip shades.  I love couture style, so this is defintely a must have is my book.  Now, I'll tell you how versatile this is!  A lipstick, lipgloss, mirror, charm bracelet, and a purse charm for $40!  5 uses, 1 product, equals Fabulous.  Overall, for what you get, it's truely a great deal.  The best to come is yet!  Check out the picture below.

Above is a picture of my holy grail Balenciaga bag I carry year-round (PS: I only have about 5 handbags total). If you love bag charms this is an absolute MUST!  I can't even count how many people have stopped me, complimenting on Dior pretty charms!  It's truely fabulous, espically when used as a bag charm!  And, the lippies are easily accessed so you don't have to dig around in your purse!  Check out the picture below being used as a charm bracelet.

Above is a picture demostrates Dior pretty charms being used as a charm bracelet.  It's a little heavy on the wrist, but, wouldn't be any heavier if you were stacking bracelets or bangles.  I'll probably be using this as a bag charm mostly, but, looks super hot paired up with a chunky watch, so who knows.

MAC Beauty Powder Blush: Review and Swatches

These blushes are absolutely stunning, espically if you are a blush lover!  I really love all the mixture of colors, definitely there's a color suitable for most everyone in this collection.  As much as I wanted every color, I had to be realistic and only picked up one, True Romantic.  Sweetness blush is comparable to MAC Fafi Fashion Frenzy, and Joyous is comparable to MAC Fafi's Hipness.  So, if you picked up those two from the previous Fafi collection, I would rest assure and save your money.

MAC Cosmetics Heatherette: It's Here

It's Heatherette time!  Today is the day this highly anticipated collection releases at all MAC stores nationwide and approved MAC retailers!  Don't be the last one standing, because I have a feeling this collection will sell out super fast!  MAC's website already has most items back ordered already!

The lipsticks and lipglasses are what I'm looking forward to most. The MAC SA told me the patent leather eyelashes are a must, so I can't wait to see them.  I will be a my MAC store today at 10 EST sharp!  I'm not missing out on this one!

MAC Heatherette: Review and Swatches

 

Forget the reviews, the photo swatches justify everything!  I tried to get high quality pictures for you guys on the MAC Heatherette Collection.  But, as always its hard to capture beautiful color.

Overall, I really liked the Heathertte collection with the exception of a few items. MAC's previous collection, Fafi, which many of us were disappiointed (excluding myself), was my favorite.  I have to be honest, I really loved the Fafi collection.  I think many of us really didn't give Fafi a chance due to the bold daring colors and was hyptonized by Heatherette's pink packaging (ha ha I was).

On to the Heatherette collection.  WOW!  Fafi who?  This collection is going to be the Barbie loves MAC collection of 2008, and is going to be sold out extremely fast!  I always advise people not to wait when it comes to MAC's limited edition collections.  Because, you don't wanna pay those outrageous ebay prices.  If you love pink foremost, then this is a must have collection in your beauty wardrobe. 

Heatherette Lipstick and Lipglasses.  I purchased every color except Fleshpot Lipstick and Bonus Beat Lipglass.  They just seemed really dull and boring to me, compared to all the others from this colorful collection.  Fleshpot and Bonus Beat are somewhat similar to the Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop, as you can see by these swatches.  The only true difference is Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop are more orangish rather than beigish. 

The Heatherette Collection Eye Shadow Trio's. It was really hard to pick one eye shadow Trio, so I choose both.  My philosphy, whenever in doubt, get both.  No, really I don't condone that, because it will get you and your checkbook in trouble.  But, I did end up purchasing both, because they are equally beautiful.  Heatherette Trio 1 is my favorite out of the two, only because it has a gorgeous shimmery blue color.

The Heathertte Collection Glitter and Pigments.  The most definite stand out colors amoung the glitters and pigments are, Pink Pearl and 3D Silver.  Pink Pearl, described as a mid-tone pink color with blue undertones, that makes this color really pretty.  Another bonus to Pink Pearl is it can be used on your eyes, cheeks, lips, etc.  Pink Pearl paired up with Fafi's, Fun n Sexy lipstick (which also has blue undertones) would look great together.  3D Silver, describled as a multi-reflective silver metallic glitter, is right up my alley.  Although, 3D Silver is not eye safe, you can use it for other purposes.  The MA had $$$$$ Yes, mixed up with the 3D silver glitter and looked hot paired together.

MAC Heatherette Dual Edge Eye Pencils.  I love these bold pretty colors!  My must haves are the Pop Blue/Black Funk and Fab Orchid/Dash Lily.  I also liked Nighhawk/Front Row but, haven't decided if I'm purchasing it yet.

 

The Heatherette Beauty Powders.  I had to pass on both beauty powders, just because I recently purchased two gorgeous beauty powders from the previous, Fafi collection.  Beleive it or not there is actually a swatch for Alpha Girl (very faint cool pink color).  Alpha Girl, described as a light pink with gold nuances.  The color is unbeleivealble light, I put numerous coats on my NC25/30 skin, and the pink is still very faint.  I think this color will be more appealing for cooler skin tones.  Smooth Harmony, described as a medium gold bronze color that is more on the organish side but, had great color payoff, espically for those with darker skin tones.  Smooth Harmony, is a color that would be more appealing to me rather than Alpha Girl. 

 

The Heatherette Nail Polishes.  The stand out color out of the two is, $$$$$ Yes.  I happened to pick up both colors, because Lola Devine is a nice coral shade I've been looking for.  Lola Devine, described as a soft mid-tone coral (cream) nail polish color.  This is a true coral color nail polish that is very pretty.  If you've been looking for that perfect coral color, well, Lola Devine is what your looking for.  $$$$$ Yes, described as a metallic silver foil (frost) nail polish color.  The MA had $$$$$ Yes combined with 3D silver glitter, and just looked devine. I really liked this color also. 

Check out an great alternative to MAC's, $$$$$ Yes nail polish. 

 

The MA's went on and on about these pantent leather-look lashes way before this line was even released.  So, this was a must have for me.  I haven't personally worn them yet, but, saw them on and they look pretty hot.  If you love MAC's number 7 eyelashes, you will love these.  I love that they are very natural looking.  I'm saving these beauties for a special night out.

Chanel Summer Collection: Reviews and Swatches

Overall, I was really impressed with their Summer Collection.  Chanel's last couple of collections really hasn't impressed me, so, I was pretty excited.  This collection can be for anyone.  They have all the season's "it" colors.  Peach, pink, bronze, and corals are this seasons it's colors and it think they hit the nail on the head. 

The thing I love about this collection, it's very suitable for "Green Eyes!"  I have light green eyes and olive complexion, and sometimes it hard to satisfy us, let's just say that.  These colors look amazing with green and hazel eyes.  Emeraude, gives a hint of color that's not too bold nor daring, and the Vert Bronze eyeliner, is very unique, like an olive green bronze liner.  Items I picked up: Oasis Quad, Nail Polishes, Gazelle Glossimer, Emeraude Mascara, Atoll eyeshadow fluid and Vert Bronze eye liner.  Gazelle, is by far a must have, it's simply gorgeous, and the color pay-off is great you don't even need a lipstick!

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Polish.  $19.00 USD.  Flamingo and Antilope are both limited edition colors for the Summer 2008 Makeup Collection.  Flamingo, described as a pink flamingo with gold shimmers, that makes this beautiful.  Antilope is a metallic light bronze sand color that is also gorgeous.  I think the most appealing color will be Antilope because it is a very neutral color.  Although, they are both gorgeous colors, and will sell out quicky, as most Chanel limited edition colors do.

The Flamingo and Antilope has been applied with two coats.  One thing I love about these polishes is you can contol the color completely.  They apply somewhat sheer, but, can be darkened nicely with an additonal coat.

I've been hearing alot about these two colors lately.  So, I wanted to show you guys the comparisons.  Delice and Antilope may seem similar, but, are completely different in their own way.  Delice, is a very clear-to-light beige sheer polish with lots of gold shimmer.  Antilope, is a semi-sheer, sand frosty color, that does not have any shimmer.  Although, it may be semi-sheer it applies much thicker than Delice.  It actually has good color, and can be thickened easily by additional coats.  I definitely prefer Antilope over Delice.

Chanel Levres Scinttillantes Glossimer.  $26.00 USD.  Gazelle, a new color this year, described as a prailine pink color with orangish undertone.  I know it's described as a prailine pink, but, I'm seeing more peach in this color, which makes this a very hot and unique color!  Repromotes: Pinup, described as a frosted golden peach color and Seashell, described as a soft shimmering bubblegum pink color.  To be honest with you, I loved every single color, even though two are repromotes.  I can't say enough good things about Chanel's Glossimer's.  They really are FAB!

 

Chanel Aqualumiere Lipshine.  $26.00 USD.  Mauritius, described as a bronzed coral color and Zanzibar, a soft peach color.

Chanel Rouge Allure Satin Lip Color.  $30.00 USD.  Naive, described as a sheer light pink color.  Curious, described as a sheer nude brown color 

Chanel Rouge Hydrabase Creme Lipstick.  $26.00 USD.  Rose Flamingo, described as a pretty pink flamingo color.  Leopard, described as a gold coral color.  Flamingo and Leopard both has awesome color payoff.  Both these colors are so calling my name, but, I just hate spending that much for lipstick!  Urggh! Check out some color combinations of the Lipstick and Glossimer's.

Here are some Lipstick and Glossimer combinations.  Again, the Rose Flamingo and Leopard are the definte stand out colors to me.  One thing I love about Rose Flamingo and Leopard, it just takes the right lip gloss and you can accomplish every color shown here.  Rose Flamingo with Seashell or any light pink gloss will create the Navie/Seashell look.  And, Leopard paired up with Pinup or any light peach lipgloss will create the Zanzibar/Gazelle look.

When creating lip combinations, I always think in terms of "good color pay-off", when choosing a lipstick color.  Because, after all, that is your prime base, so make it a good one.  And, if you have good color pay-off, all it takes is gloss to create any of look or color.  Mix your glosses with lipstick colors you normally wouldn't, I bet you'll be surpised in the color outcome!

 

Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara. $27.50 USD.  Emeraude, described as a beautiful jade green color.  I messed around with the color today, and I do like it.  It's a Jade Green, but, isn't very noticable which is why I liked it.  Just a hint of color, that everyone can wear.  I espically loved it because it brought out my light green eyes.  This color would also look great with hazel eyes. 

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner.  $26.50 USD.  Espresso, described as a dark brown choclate color.  Vert Bronze, described as a green-bronze eyeliner.  The stand out of the two eyeliners is  definitely Vert Bronze.  It's a very unique color eyeliner that I really liked.

 

Chanel Ombre Deu Fluid Irisdescent Eyeshadow.  $30.00 USD.  Atoll, described as a gold sand color.  This color is absolutely stunning.  It's a very pretty gold sand color that looks great alone or as an eyeshadow base!  Also, looks great paired with Vert Bronze eyeliner.  I really love Vert Bronze it's a very unique eye liner color!

Sally Hansen Sterling: Limited Edition Color

At my local drugstore, I was lucky enough to stumble upon this limited edition nail polish color from Sally Hansen, Sterling.  It's very rare that a nail polish color in a drugstore catches my eye.  But, this color definitely caught my eye quickly.  And, I was very fortunate because they were just putting out the display, which only held about 8 bottles.  So, I guess it was my lucky day!

Sally Hansen, Sterling, described as a metallic silver nail polish color that isn't too heavy nor sheer.  I really like Sally Hansen's Salon formula's, and was excited to get a hold of this limited edition color.

Think metallic colors are out?  Think again!  They are on a ongoing rising trend for Spring and Summer.  MAC Cosmetics just released a new metallic silver nail polish color from the Heatherette Collection, $$$$$ Yes.  Check out the photo comparisons between Sally Hansen's and MAC"s color.

Can you see the difference?  If not, well that's because their about 98% identical.  There is only one true difference, MAC's $$$$$ Yes, is more sheer compared to Sally Hansen's, Sterling.  I actually prefer Sally Hansen's formula because it's a tad bit thicker, and has a true metallic silver color payoff.

If you can find this limited color, it's defintely worth picking up.  Sterling is a better and cheaper version of MAC's, $$$$$ Yes nail polish.

Sally Hansen: Tracy Reese Collection Available

The long awaited Sally Hansen limited edition Tracy Reese collection has finally hit stores this week.  I went to two different local drug stores and happened to see this collection just being put on display.  The only bad thing, two colors of each per display is available.  Which is going to make it that much harder to get a hold of these lovely shades.  Arabian Night is going to be a very hard color to track down.  I had to go to two stores to find it, but, it's defintely worth while. 

I have to say every single color in this collection is suitable for everyone.  My favorites out of the Tracy Resse collection: Arabian Night, Sultry Fuchsia and Tunisian Sand.  But, overall I liked every color, not to add the long lasting formula.  This collection has a color to please every appetite.  See the colors below.

Keep your eyes open when you visit your local drug store.  You definitely don't want to miss out on Arabian Night and Tunisian Sand, two beautiful unique colors, and only two colors per display!  Why do they do this to us!

Neo Sci Fi: Swatches, Review, and Product Photos

 

Overall, the Neo Sci Fi is everything I expected.  I think this collection offers a little bit for everyone.  Most shades are very wearable and neutral toned, which many of us will find appealing.  However, there is quite a bit of repromotes in this collection.  But, this may be a good thing, espically if you didn't have chance to grab these in previous collections.  If the color swatches didn't grab your attention, well be prepared, the packaging is sure to "wake" up your day!

It don't take a brain scientist to figure out summer collections are all about the traditional Sun Godess.  So, if you think your seeing deja vu here, you probably are!  The color shades range in Golds, Bronze, Peach, and Browns.  And, I think Sci Fi will be more popular with warmer skin tones.  I really had fun playing with all the colors and chatting it up with the MA's today.  Espically, about the nail polishes.

So, do you notice what's missing in this collection?  Pinks!  The fact that there's not many pink color shades in this collection really tickles my fancy.  I know, I know.... A girl cannot have enough pinks, right?  Well, Pink "RULEZ" in my makeup collection, so, this is definitely a move in the right direction.

Of course, I didn't leave the MAC store empty handed. Take a sneak peek at my haulin pictures.  Some items I picked up were: Sci Fi Delity, Astral, Pink Grapefruit, and Supreme.  For the complete run-down, check out my haul.

Neo Sci Fi Lipsticks  Astral - A mid-tone warm brown lustre with red and gold pigments. The red pearlized pigments are barely noticeable, and the gold shimmer makes this really pretty. Sci Fi Delity - A burnt red frost with gold pigments. As soon as I swatched this, I knew this was love at first site.  It's a perfect color that isn't to bold that everyone can rock. Electro - A very very bright neon orange.  As much as I love to look at gawk at this color, I need to get back to reality.  Because, I know electo would just sit their all lonley with her other sisters.  She has tons of sisters! Pleasureseeker - A sheer creamy peach glaze.  I really wanted to love this color (it was on my haulin list), but, sadly, it was extremely sheer.  My lips are fairly pigmented, so, it took about 5 applications to get good color.  Sunsonic - A light beige gold frost.  So, before you go, uggh... This is suprisingly, a very gorgeous color when paired up MAC's lipglass.  I felt like I was in one of those "Got Milk" advetisments.  umm, yeah, it was basically like a white frosted ring around my lips.  I think ya'll can image what that resembled!  However, I topped off with supreme lipglass = an oh so dreamy choclate creation.

Electro....your so electrifying....

 

Lipglass Naked Space  - is a nude peach with gold shimmer.  Naked Space is fairly light but,  a nice color, espically if your into nude colored glosses. Soft & Slow - is a mid-tone creamy plum with gold shimmer.  A nice pink that has good color pay-off. Pink Grapefruit - is a "must have" beautiful orange with gold pearl.  The swatches do not lie, it's absolultey amazing.  I plan on picking up a back-up this week.  Supreme - a rich milk choclate bronze with white pearl.  This is another color that just popped out to me, it's so rich.  It's also my first brown lipglass purchase.

 

I'm hypnotized by Pink Grapefruit...

Eyeshadows Magenetic Fields - is a brown black with silver pearl.  The color is much more brownish than black.  It's a great darker brown, espically for crease lines. Evening Aura -  is a frosty golden peach velux pearl.  Evening Aura was one of my favorite eyeshadows.  A very beautiful peach golden color for a softer look. Femme Fi - A frosty golden creme pearl velux.  A great highlighting that has awesome color pay-off. Time & Space - A rich copper brown that is highly pigmented.  The color pay-off is beyond excellent.  Expensive Pink - a pink with gold duochrome.  Although this is a permanent color, it is stunning.  I've owned this color for quite sometime and is one of my all-time fav's.

I know there's been alot of confusion about Expensive Pink.  This is a MAC permanent color.  So, don't let the bright orange packaging throw you off.  It's only being promoted with the orange packaging through the Neo Sci Fi collection.  However, the black packaging is available in their regular stock.

Powder Blush X-Rocks - A shimmery dirty mauve with great color pay-off and pigmentation. Spaced Out - A shimmery peach with good color pay-off.

I have a fancy with powder blushes, so this was a must have for me.  Spaced Out wasn't as highly pigmented compared to X-Rocks.  But, I may be back to my MAC store to pick up X-Rocks because it was just as gorgeous.

Cremestick Lip Liner 80% - is a Deep cocoa brown Beurre - is a dirted plum Summerfruit - a pale coral

Nail polishes are my major weaknesses.  I literally own about every color in the rainbow.  So, these color were a no brainer for me.  Check out the Neo Sci Fi photo swatches. 

Nail Polish Metalist - A soft light sand shimmer.  I think more of us will flock to this color because it's the safe route.  I passed on this color because it was boring and not unique.  In fact, it reminds me alot of Chanel Antilope and Dior's new summer one.  Plasma Blu - is an bright turquoise shimmer.   This is a pretty bright turquoise that will look fab on toes. Neon 8 - is a coral orange shimmer.  Neon 8 is my favorite color out of the four colors.  The color isn't as bright as you think.  And, is a great orange shade. Phosphor - a bright taxi cab yellow frost.

MAC Cosmetics: Dress Camp Launches Online

MAC Cosmetics launches the Asian Exclusive, Dress Camp.  While I was out enjoying the gorgeous weather yesterday here in KY, this collection was selling out right under my nose!  Dress Camp Collection is completely sold out online! Yikes!  Maybe it's the hot pink colors or the sexy animal print packaging that we just can't resist.  Luckily, I was able to pick up a few things before it sold out.

Chanel Strikes Gold For Fall 2008

Chanel strikes gold for their 2008 fall collection Peter Phillips, a new creative director for Chanel's makeup line.  The collection will be released in July followed by Philips’ holiday collection, due for October, which will continue the gold rush theme.

The collection, due in to hit counters in July, which includes Gold Fiction, a softly shimmering nail polish, $30 (yikes); Facettes D’Or, a finely milled gold loose powder that reads on the skin as a subtle glow, $56; Gold Light Glossimer lip gloss, $26 (oh la la); Rouge Hydrabase lipstick shades in copper, plum and coral (yum another coral), each $27, and a quad eye shadow palette with gold, coffee, ivory and dark green eye colors, $56.

Looks like Chanel is hyping this Gold Fiction nail polish to be the next Black Satin or Blue Satin!  While Chanel’s nail polishes usually retail in the $19 range, Gold Fiction will retail for $30. “We’ve used high-end pigments to get the color and finish just right, and the outer bottle is also done in an [opaque] gold case.”  This is going to be a limited edition color but, may become permanent depending on it's popularity.

Chanel will reprise — and amplify — gold in its holiday color collection, due out in October, with Poudre Precieuse Or, a gold highlighting powder that will retail for $75; Gold Shine, a gold Glossimer lip shade, $26; Noir Scintillant, a black eyeliner with gold sparkle, $28, and Haute Chocolate, a gold brown nail shade, $20.

And, I thought $19 was expensive for nail polish, hola cow, $30 bucks!  Chanel keeps going up, up and away! I just don't know if I can justify $30 bucks a bottle.  It's really hard to judge by the promo pictures, so we'll have to wait and see the color swatches.  Stay tuned.

Nail Polish Love: Dior's Golden Nugget

While browsing through Dior's Gold Rush Summer Collection, many things caught my eye, but, one specific, Gold Nugget 708 Nail Polish.  I automatically reached for it to swatch, and it was just gorgeous.  Not like any bronze color I own.  It's really hard to describe this color because it's so unique.  It's a bronze nail color, with tons of gold shimmer which makes this an olive green bronze in some lights.  So, I rushed home and pulled out all my gold and bronze polishes, and I couldn't find one to compare.  Check out the swatch below.

Dior released two limited edition nail colors in their Gold Rush summer collection. 

Coppery Ginger 668, $19.00, described as a light metallic copper shade.  The texture reminded me of Chanel's Antilope nail polish, but was more copper toned.  I really didn't care for this one because it wasn't as unique as Gold Nugget. 

Gold Nugget 708, $19.00, described as a bronze golden nail polish with gold shimmer which gives the appearence of olive green bronze in some lights.  This color is semi-sheer, but you certainly can get good coverage with two coats, three coats you are golden!

Dior's nail polish formula's are excellent.  Long lasting, and no chipping and I honestly have to say it's much better than Chanel.  I think this color will appeal more to the warmer tones. My theory,  anyone can rock it!

Pictured to the right is a comparison of OPI Charmed by a Snake and Dior's Golden Nugget.  As you can see, there's a noticeable difference between the two colors.  OPI Charmed by s Snake is lighter sand bronze color and Dior's Gold Nugget is a Dark Bronze/Gold color, which gold shimmer creates more of a olive green bronze look.

MAC Dress Camp: Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC released The Dress camp collection early and very unexpectantly, and while this collection was literally selling out under my nose, I was out enjoying the gorgeous weather here in KY.  If it wasn't for Temptalia's google alert, I would of missed out on this completely!  So, a huge shout out to you girl!  The only thing I missed out on was too fab lipstick, which was a total bummer, because it's a really fab color.  Check out the photo swatches below.

Dress Camp Lipglass.  She Gold, described as a sheer yellow-gold with gold shimmer.  This color is very pretty, and the best out of the collection.  I prefer She Gold worn alone, it brings out the natural color in your lips and makes them shine like She Gold.  Fashion, described as a bright-midtone pink with white pearl frost.  The color isn't as bright as the described.  The white pearl frost tones it down quite a bit which makes it a lighter pink.  Check out the Dress Camp Palette swatches below.

Dress Camp Face X4 Palette.  One thing I love about MAC's limited edition face palette's is their so convenient, espically for over night stays or touch-ups.  DressCamp Pink Powder (a blue mid-tone pink with white pearlized pigments).  The Dress Camp pink powder is a light pink with shimmer and it's my favorite color out of the palette.  It can be used as a beauty powder blush or an eye shadow.  Sunny Girl (a pretty yellow gold), Golden Gold (a deep golden bronze), Trend (a light Neutral tan with gold pearlized pigments, perfect for highlighting).

Overall, I really loved MAC's Dress Camp collection.  And, not just for the hot packaging, ok maybe a little!  Bright Pinks, gold's, bronze, all colors that are right up my alley.  My favorites out of the collection, She Gold lipglass and Dress Camp Pink beauty powder.

MAC Dazzleglass: Photo Swatches, Review

MAC Cosmetics introduces 16 dazzling colors to this new limited edition collection.  Lipcolor that dazzles and shines with natural light to create this dazzling look.  Overall, I really liked dazzleglass for a glittler lip gloss.  The lip gloss consistency was excellent, non-tacky, and non-sticky and very moisturizing.  A little thicker than your standard gloss, but, no biggie.  However, I do see myself going through this rather quickly, due to the thickness.  I also loved the wide variety of colors offered in this LE Collection.  A color suitable for almost everyone.  Check out some photo swatches below.

I purchased Honey, Money and Funtabulous when they were released on ebay, and yesterday I picked up Comet blue and Date Night.  Date Night is a great choice if your looking for color pay-off, and Comet Blue, well anything blue-based, is a must have for me!  Check out some more photos in detail below.

I don't want the gloss, can I buy the Nail polish seperately?  Nope.  This is an Sephora Exclusive only, which is not sold seperately.  But, no worries, this isn't the last you'll see of Orgasm.  Nars will be releasing this nail color in July along with their Fall 2008 collection.  So, if you don't get a chance to the the gift set, be sure you snag a bottle when it's released in their fall collection.  I have a feeling this will be a hot color for summer, so don't wait until the last minute!

Chanel Palma Lipstick: The Perfect Orange Color

Chanel introduced four new limited edition lipshine colors along with the release of their new Aqualumiere gloss collection.  I personally never tried lipshine before mainly because of the price tag, but I knew deep down it only be a matter of time.  Well, that time is up!  While I was swatching the Aqualumiere gloss collection, I was instantly drawn to this gorgeous abricot frost color and couldn't resist.

Coral/Oranges are making a huge comeback for this summer.  In fact, most of my recent makeup purchases have involved an orange based colored lipstick or gloss.  And, many upcoming summer makeup collection constist of orange and warmer colors.  I espically can't wait for MAC's Neo Sci Fi Collection.

Palma is described as a peachy abricot frost.  And, isn't as orangey as it looks pictured above.   The color pay-off was excellent, and the texture was very smooth and moisturizing with SPF15, an added bonus.  Palma looks espically gorgeous with a sun kissed tan, and on darker skin tones.  I'm not used to round shape lipstick style but, found it very comfortable and easy to apply.  Overall, I was really impressed with the quality of Aqualumiere lipshine being my first impression.  It was long-lasting and keep my lips feeling luxurized!  Check out some coral comparisons below.

My Coral lipstick collection is constantly growing this season, and it's not even summer!   These are my three favorite coral based lipsticks that I absolutely love.  MAC Strawbaby, featured in the Fafi collection, is described as a Coral Rose with rainbow lustre and is similar to palma but, has a hint of pink.  MAC Lollipop Loving, featured in the Heatherette collection, is described mid-tone coral color with gold undertones, which is a lighter glaze and has more pink color pay-off.  Palma has a definite orange color pay-off compared to the others, which makes this color unique.  Check out the color swatches below.

Naughty Nauticals: Review, Swatches, Photos

 

Check out all the Naughty Nauticals collection swatches.  I will be writing up the review shortly, along with more photos!

Party Mate - A semi-sheer mid-tone pink lustre color that has light buildable coverage.  This has more color pay-off than Ahoy, There and is a tad bit darker. Ahoy, There! - A sheer dirty pink color with multi-dimensionel pearl that makes this a glaze.  This is the lightest color of the bunch. Port Red - A must have for red lipstick lovers!  A gorgeous ruby red with gold pearl which makes this a frost.  This is my favorite out of the bunch, and is very pretty. Buoy-O-Buoy - A creamy neutral beige color with pink undertones, that has buildable color.

 

The only color that really stood out to me was the gorgeous, Port Red.  The other colors have more of a " neutral-pink" pay-off, which I'm so over pink right now.  My makeup collection is heavily out numbered by pinks.

Ensign - A peachy pink with white and gold pearl.  This color appears more peachy than pink.  And, is a great all around color. Hey Sailor - A mauvey plum pink with white pearl.  Hey Sailor has the best color pay-off out of all the lustreglasses. Love Knot - A sheer pink with blue and white duochrome.  Love Knot is the sheerest of all the colors. Bateaux - A neutral brown peach with white frost.  Bateaux is my favorite color of the bunch.  It's a nice neutral color with a hint of peach.

The two colors I purchased were Hey Sailor and Bateaux.  Hey Sailor has good color pay-off and looks fab combined with Port Red lipstick.  Ensign is also a pretty color, but, Bateaux had more of a peach color pay-off which I opted for Bateaux.  Love Knot was very sheer on me but, I absoultey loved the blue and white duochrome, just wished it had better color pay-off.

Lark About - A sheer white frost pigment with blue undertones.  Bell Bottom Blue - A navy blue color with white pearl.  The white pearl gave this color more of a blue color with purple undertones. Lovely Lily - A soft lilac color with pink undertones.  The pink undertones gave this more of a softer color. Mutiny - A clean sky blue with gold pearl.  The gold pearl makes Mutiny not as bold, and less color pay-off.  This is my favorite out of the pigments.

Mutiny was the only pigment I purchased from the Naughty Nauticals collection.  I think this is a great color in general that everyone can wear.  It's not to bold or daring, it's a nice soft aqua color.

Shore Leave - A pale frosty ivory color with pink undertones, that has quite a bit of shimmer to it.  I really liked this color, it looks fab as a highlighter paired up with Illegal Cargo. Pandanonium - A frosty gunmetal color with white pearl. Illegal Cargo - A frost grey plum color that has more mavey-plum color pay-off.  Meet the Fleet - Midnight blue matte color.  I really did not like this color nor texture at all.  It was very blotchy when playing with the colors, and I was not impressed at all. Submarine - A beautiful mid tone blue color with frost that almost looks like a darker teal color.

I wasn't nearly as impressed with the eye shadows.  I felt Meet the Fleet and Pandanonium were very dull and boring to me.  The texture was very blocthy and hard to work with when I was swatching.  I purchased Shore Leave, Illegal Cargo and Submarine.  My favorite out of the eye shadows is Illegal Cargo.

Pigments vs Eye shadows.  I had a hard time deciding between the pigments and eye shadow colors, because they are somewhat similar.  But, I decided to go with the eye shadows because of the better color pay-off.  Illegal Cargo is much prettier and bolder purple than Lovely Lily.  And, Shore Leave is a pretty ivory white frost comparted to Lark About, which is more of a sheer white-blue pigment.

Nobody can tell a colorful story like Sephora!  Sephora introduces a limited edition palette feauting 16 of their best selling eye shadow colors.

This is such an fantastic deal!  I originally only purchased this because I needed an item for free shipping!  Sephora always gets ya with that free shipping!  I was automatically drawn to this colorful storybook palette.  But, hesitated for a minute because I've never tried Sephora's eyeshadows.  I knew it couldn't be too bad because they are my #1 beauty authority.  Plus, this would be a perfect Mother's Day gift also.

Overall, this limited edition palette has some great colors choices.  And, is the perfect palette to travel or take on-the-go.  What's great about this palette is the colors are all seasons appropriate which makes this a fab deal!  The only drawback I had is the quality (hey, I'm a MAC girl, I have high expectations).  It is fairly good quality, that is why I rated this 4 kisses but, not the best.  I found that the shadows worked best with a good base such as Urban Decay or my personal fav MAC Paint Pots.

Chanel: Limited Edition Color Art Nail Colors

This May, Chanel is opening its second Los Angeles trendy North Robertson Boulevard. Located adjacent to the famed Ivy restaurant, the new 5,395-square-foot, Peter Marino-designed store marks the birth of the company's new design concept.

Peter Philips, Chanel Makeup's new global creative director, marked the grand opening by designing four limited-edition nail colors. The collection of graphic, pop-art shades was inspired by the hipster-cool spirit of Robertson Boulevard and boast such whimsical names as Melrose, Rodeo Drive, LA Sunrise, and LA Sunset. While the product will initially be available only in-store, Chanel.com will stock the polishes starting in July.

The four limited edition polish colors retail for $25.00 each.  The polishes will only be available online at Chanel.com or at the Robertson Blvd stores in Los Angeles.

Sneak Peek: Pics Chanel Robertson Collection

I happened to stumble across these jaw-dropping pictures and would love to share them with ya'll!  Let me start off by saying, I literally am drooling over every single color right now!  LA Sunset has my name written all over it!  If the color pay-off is as pictured above, I think this may be the perfect orange shade many of us have been longing for, including myself!  Yeah!

Get em' while their hot!  I predict that these four electric shades will sell-out like hot cakes.   And, being an "limited edition and the seasons "must-have" colors, don't help the fact!  But, Chanel never lets us down ladies, we all know that!

Chanel should be releasing the Robertson Blvd collection online at the end of June/July and retail for $25.00 each.  Supplies are very limited and only availble online or at the Robertson Boulevard store.  So, be sure you are signed up for availablity notifications!

Essie Summer: The Neon Collection

Essie's headline: 'Never be afraid of color", love it!  Espically, never be afraid of these gorgeous colors.  Essie introduces four new hot colors just in time for summer.  This limited edition collection features four neon shades: Shorty Pants (a vibrant yellow sunshine), Short Shorts (a hot pink), Bermuda Shorts (a vibrant neon purple) and Mini Shorts (vibrant orange).  This collection should be available now or sometime this week.

Man, Essie is on a roll.  Both of their summer collections has me drooling all over the place.  These four new colors remind me of Chanel's Robertson Blvd collection but, essie's has more vibrant colors and is alot cheaper. whoot whoot! Go Essie!

Nail Polish of the Day: MAC Whirlwind

I know your probably thinking -  Summertime's here and I'm still wearing dark nail polish!  Well, I have sort of a fetish for darker colors.  And, I have an even bigger fetish for MAC's whirlwind nail polish.  This has to be one of my all-time favorite nail polishes in general and from MAC.  Described as an gorgeous forest green with aqua blue shimmer that was introduced in MAC's storm signals collection.  Whirlwind is truely one of the most unique colors I own.

Two heavy coats were used in my photo swatches or you could get by with three light coats.  Good color pay-off, no chipping and the staying power was definitely there.  This is most certainly a must have color if you love blue and green nail polish shades.  However, it is an limited edition color but, I'm sure you can still find it on ebay.  Candid shot below.

Dark nail polish colors never go out of style, even in the summer.  But, I know it's time I jump on that summertime color wagon.  So, you'll be seeing some pretty electrifying colors to come!

This beautiful green-blue shimmer nail polish is what orginially pulled me into this collection.  Looking at the promo picture, it looks very familiar to one of my all time polishes, MAC whirlwind.  Needless to say, I haven't found an worthwhile comparison to MAC's color.  So, I'm pretty excited to see this color in real life.

Rihanna Loves Her Metallic Nail Polish

Throughout this week and last, we've seen Rihanna sporting around a gorgeous bronzy-pewter nail polish at different occasions.  So, ya'll know what that means, right?  The metallics are back and this reincarnated trend isn't going away anytime soon.  In fact, this is just the beginning.

This fall,  Chanel is releasing two metallic nail polishes named Gold Fiction ($30) and Kaleidoscope ($19).  Two limited edition shades that I'm most anxious to get my hands on.  Be sure you take a look at Chanel's drool worth polishes for Fall! 

The color pictured above appears similar to Chanel's new one, Kaleidoscope.  But, I'm also seeing Dior's Golden Nugget - a bronzey gold , which matches perfectly with Rihanna's flawless makeup.  I predict the metallics will stick around throughout the fall and winter.

Nordstrom Beauty Exclusives: Preorder Only

Nordstrom gives us a peek at some beauty exclusives available for pre-order.  Take a moment to stop by and check out the drool-worthy pictures and release information.  Here are just a few things I'm excited about.

MAC Colour Forms - Warm Eyes ($38.00): A set of five limited edition shadow combinations perfect for those green eyed gals.  It might be the eye-catching green casing or the beautiful color combination of purples and greens that draw me into this palette.  Having green eyes ain't no day in the park.  Bottom line: their difficult and we just can't pick any color.  Purple is a shade that won't do us wrong ladies and gents!

MAC Colour Forms - Warm Lips ($22.50): A set of three limited edition lipstick shades.  This lovely Warm Lip Palette was featured in Allure's July issue as one of the Editior's pick.

Fall is creeping up faster than you think and so is all the upcoming collections.  It's all about dark goth colors and I'm loving it.  I can't wait to drench my nails and lips with dark vampy colors such as Dior's Rouge in Fantastic Plum and Nail Vernis in Liquorice.

Dior Rouge in Fantastic Plum ($27.00) - a dark plum and Liquorice ($19) - a dark plum shimmer is a great way to start off your Fall.

Essie's 2008 Fall Collection ($15.00 mini set) - Forever Young - Fiery Tango Red, Lacy not Racy - velvety vintage burgandy, No Boundaries - passionate plum and Tomboy No More - red current traffle.

Regarding Essie's Fall collection - I'm not certain if their releasing more colors.  But, I will keep you guys updated as soon as I find out anything.

Chanel Gold Fiction and Kaleidoscope Swatches

This Fall Chanel introduces three new limited edition colors:  Gold Fiction - a true 18 karat gold, Kaleidoscope - a metallic pewter gray with green undertones and Fantastic - a deep wine shade.   Along with these three new shades accompanied a pretty hefty price tag.  Gold Fiction retailing at $30 and the others at $20.  Did ya'll notice their regular nail polish even increased in price?!  I know what your thinking, 30 bucks for a nail polish, that is ridiciously, and it is! 

Gold Fiction is described as a true 18 karat gold shade.  The application is like spreading butter on your nails except with 18 karats of pure perfection.  But, for 30 bucks worth of perfection?  Probably not.  Everything about Gold Fiction was perfect, which is exactly what your paying for.  Your not paying for the unique color, just the richness of Chanel.

The Polish Addict has some great gold comparisons and OPI Symphony in Gold looks to be right on the money.  It's definitely worth taking a peek.

I literally fainted when Kaleidoscope - a pewter grey metallic with green undertones, graced my eyes.  Now, this is what I'm talking about!  I would certainly pay 30 bucks Kaleidoscope in a minute.  This is probably one of the most unique colors Chanel has created and I'm loving it.  All the photo swatches don't justify the beauty of this color - it is truely hard to describe.

Kaleidoscope has been fingers and toes for quite sometime.  I've been sporting around this color for the last couple days and I can't stop drooling at it.

Fantastic is a nice creamy shade of red wine, but, I just don't see anything fantastic about it.  Save your money on this shade and pick up another bottle or Kaleidoscope or save it for the Robertson Blvd Collection.

Overall, Kaleidoscope is the bread winner of the Fall nail colors.  But, all being limited edition, don't hold your breath and snatch them up quickly before they sell out.  Don't wait on Kaleidoscope it will go super fast.  I promise you won't regret it.

Chanel Fall Makeup Collection: Review, Swatches

 

The new Chanel Fall makeup collection debuts at most stores this week. Overall, some key players in this collection: Gold Fever highlighter is a beautiful gold highlighter that looks absolutely flawless on any skin type.  Glossimer lovers - Gold Light and Delight are must have lip glosses drenched in glistening shimmer.  My first thoughts on the lilac (Delight) lip gloss "What in the world am I going to do with it"?  Oh my gosh, Everything!  Words and pictures cannot describe the beauty of this sparkling gloss.  It's definitely meant to be a topper and not to be wore alone.  The Glossimer were my fav's besides the Kaleidoscope nail polish. 

Kaleidoscope nail polish sold-out online within two days of release on Chanel.com.  But, you can find this limited edition color at most Chanel counters as the Fall collection just debuted.  If your thinking, is it really all that?  Yes, Yes and double yes!  Don't miss out on this very unique shade!

I was pretty disappionted in the eye shadows and quad but, my wallet was oh so happy!  The colors were just blah to me - brown, white, gold, dark teal?   Come on Chanel, you can do better than that.  I was more impressed with HiP's new metallic shadows rather than these.  Also, the shades had poor pigmentation as it took quite a few swipes to get some good color on my NC30/35 skin.

Covergirl Tropical Fusion Eyeshadow Dupes

A few weeks ago, I blogged about Covergirl's new tropical fusion eyeshadow. I've had several requests for this colorful palette and I know why!  Not to make matters worse but, I'm going to give ya'll a few more reasons why you need to grab this.

I was instantly drawn into the beautiful green shade as I'm TOTALLY fixated with green this year and last. It may be the combination of my green eyes or the impossiblty of getting ahold of in Nars Zulu nail polish. How's that saying go - we always want the impossible.. Not only impossible but, extremely limited. Hard to find + Rarity = Cha ching!

On to the good stuff. Last night was the first time I had a chance to play with my Cool Heat shadows from Mac. Big suprise but, I fell in love with Gulf Stream.  Something was oh so familiar about this gorgeous green.  That's because it's an exact dupe of the covergirls Tropical Fusion green shade. The only true difference is mac's version is a tad frostier.  Check out the swatches below.

Your not only getting Gulf Stream but, Submarine too.  Two MAC eye shadows at $36.00 + Tropical Fusion Quad $4.99 = $31.00 savings.  The blue isn't a 100 percent dupe like Gulf Stream but, it's pretty darn close.  Submarine is a tad on the navy side and frostier.

Fab and Flashy is a tangerine shade compared to covergirls orange/coral.  Covergirls version is really pretty but no pigmentation and staying power along with the yellow shade.  The yellow texture was just plain awful.  A matte that is chalky and has no pigmentation at all.  Eyepopping is a gorgeous bumble bee colored shade that looks gorgeous with greens.  It's classified more as an lime green, but appears more yellow on my NC30.  Although eyepopping is a limited edition it's still available on ebay and resonably priced too.  Just make sure it's a trusted MAC seller.

Pedicure of the Day: Chanel LA Sunset

The next couple weeks I'll be mixing it up with Pedicure of the Day posts.  I wanted to give my nails a break because the constant yellow stain is driving me nuts and summer colors are about the toes espically these four hot colors!  Not many beauty bloggers post POTD (pedicures of the day).  I'm assuming it's the same fear  - Aren't all feet ugly?!  At least that's how I feel.  Suprisingly, I do have serveral requests for POTD's. 

Chanel finally released the "Hello, like summer's over" Robertson Blvd Collection last week online.  I would love to rebel against them for draggin this out but, that isn't happenin.  The four shades are equally pretty in a sophisicated and classy way.  Very practical, everyday colors you can wear in the corporate atmosphere espically for summer.     

LA Sunset is described as an Melon orange glossy creme that applied flawlessly with two coats.  The price tag may be controversial setting you back 25 buckaroos but, take these factors into consideration: Chanel, Limited Edition, Exclusive to Chanel.com and Robertson store in LA only, and Created by new director, Peter Phillips.

Before the Robertson Collection was officially released online, Heidi or Elodie were two shades that looked familiar judging by the swatches online.  I pulled out all my possible dupes and no luck.  All these shades above were completely off making this a unique color in my collection.

Chanel Autumn 2008: Limited Edition Blushers

Chanel's autumn 08' collection is a tribute to the classic 1950's tweed.  Four new limited edition blushers will be available in shades of Coral, Red, Pink and Amber combined with silver and gold shimmers formed in "tweed" like textures.  But, these tweed blushers don't come cheap, retailing at $61.00 (ouch!) each.  The collection is slated for mid September 08'.

MAC Overrich Collection: Review and Swatches

Overall, the overrich collection is filled with Over-richness.  The Cult of Cherry inspires these eight new pigment packed limited edition shades filled with rich lucious color to go perfectly with your cult of cherry look.  The pigments have unbelieveable color pay-off and are simply amazing - bottom line.  With all the Rage of Cult of Cherry - I totally forgot about these tubs of luxurious color.

Tonight at the Launch party Antique Green and Vintage Gold are two colors that came home with me.  Antique Green is a gorgeous turquoise green and Vintage Gold is a olive green gold similar to Golden Olive.  Good new is - most of these will be permnament colors at the Pro store except Mauvement and Mega Rich.  The Overrich collection will be available at maccosmetics.com and freestanding stores on August 21st.

Givenchy Vernis Please in Dandy Moire

WOW, wow, and another WOW!  I haven't been this excited since, well, Chanel Kaleidoscope, lol.  No really, this color is absolutely fantastic as I knew it would be.  Ever since I blogged about Givenchy's fall makeup collection - this was high priority on my lemmings list.  With just seeing the product images - it was love at first sight.

If your not familiar with Givenchy products well, their all mini-me size with a hefty price tag.  To break it down, you get .18 oz for $15.00.  Most nail polish bottles range around .4 oz so, it's a mini me size!  A navy blue base color loaded down with emerald green, blue and gold shimmer - speechless, you guys.  So many gals are going to love this shade.

 

Picture above is taken in the sunlight.  The only true disadvantages is the price and limited edition status. 

As far as comparisons - the best way to describe this is a mix between MAC's Whirlwind and OPI's Yoga-ta get this blue.  If you love both thesse colors, then this is a must!

 

See how unpredictable nail polish colors can be!  Dandy Moire has some noticeable differences.  First off, a deep navy blue-blackish base color compared to OPI's royal blue.   What's so unique about Dandy is the emerald green and blue shimmer is actually visible indoors.  And, whirlwind is way off - it's not even in the same category as these two.  Dandy Moire is now available at Sephora for a limited time only.

Milani Goes Pop Art in six Gorgeous Ways

Don't ask me why Milani decided to introduce these gorgeous metallic shades so late in the game.  Just when you thought Fall was here - Milani pulls a little rabbit out of their hat.  infact, six new limited edition rabbits!  woot, woot!  But hey, better late than never!  Plus it's never too late to sport around pop color.

I'm not certain if there's a collection name, but, all six new shades are named after "art/design".  So, I'm just callin them Pop Art.  Shimmers, shimmers and more shimmers -  that's all you'll see in this new collection.   So much shimmer they can be classifed as metallic-like.

The best way to capture shimmers is with the sun and that's not happenin today.  The dark clouds have been hanging around for last couple days and isn't budging.  I would assume alot of us are having this nasty weather (my heart goes out to anyone in extreme circumstances).  But, in the next couple day's, I'll be replacing my swatches with regular ones.

Red Canvas - cherry red shade with gold and red shimmer.  Good color pay-off, two coats will you give good coverage.  No application problems.

                                          

Pink Abstract - a hot pink drenched in pink and silver shimmer.  Two coats will give you good coverage and three will make you shine.  No application problems.

 

Art Deco Blue - a royal blue metallic shade with aqua shimmer.  Two coats will give you good coverage and color pay-off.

 

Purple Pop Art - is going to be my next pedi shade which, I'll be posting tomorrow.  A magenta pink-purple with blue and pink shimmer.  Two coats will give you good cover but three is recommended for the bottle color.

 

Green Impressions - a granny smith apple green loaded with green and gold shimmers.   One particular thing I like - the conjuction of green and gold shimmers gives the appearence of multi-dimensonel under certain lighting.  The bad news - they are fairly sheer and require four coats or more to achieve bottle color.

 

Modern Yellow reminds me of China Glaze in Solar power with one minor expection.  It's completely drenched in gold and yellow shimmer - very gorgeous!  Just like Green Impresssions, the application required four coats to achieve bottle color.

 

Honestly, I liked every shade in this collection.  Very suitable for most people - if you love shimmer polishes.  Who doesn't like to shine with every color in the rainbow!  Hope your having a wonderful day!

Bobbi Brown: Shimmering Nudes Eye Palette

 

Bobbi Brown introduces a new limited edition shimmering nude palette ($50).  A eye shadow palette consisting of seven cool and warm nude shades that's flattering on every skintone.  This includes a combination of soft, pearlized Shimmer Wash Eye Shadows and high-shimmer Metallics to softly illuminate eyes, and Espresso Eye Shadow to line eyes. Comes with a dual-ended Eye Shadow/ Eye Liner Brush.

The seven shades includes: (pictured above from left to right) Nude Beach Metallic, Nude Mist Shimmer, Naked Eye, Nude Glow Metallic, Mica Shimmer, Nude Spice Metallic, and Espresso.  Check out the photo swatches below.

   

I'll be the first to admit, neutral shades usually aren't my thing.  But, something kept pulling towards Bobbi's Brown new shimmering nudes eye palette.   The shades are a nice mixtures of the metro chic colors debuting this fall.  Plus, you get three new bobbi brown metallic shades.  A great deal - espically, if you don't own any of these shades.

When swatching the shimmer nudes palette, I was a little hesitant because the color pay-off wasn't that great on my NC-35 skin.  But, when coordinated with the other shades in the palette, it was well worth it.  You can go from professional and sophicated to a sexy, smokey eye look in minutes.

This palette is now availabe at Bobbi Brown for a limited time and retails for $50.00.

Sneak Peek: Dior Holiday Makeup Preview

As I was flipping through one of magazines, Dior's new holiday promotional ad stopped me dead in my tracks.  Foremost, the gorgeous holiday nail colors.  Unfortanetly, I only have limited color information to offer you guys but, I expect official information to hit the web within the next couple of weeks.

Limited Edition Tools from Loreal HIP

This is one reason (out of many) why I hate limited edition products - their impossible to find.  A couple days ago, while on the prowl for Sally Hansen's Tracy Resse collection (another frustrating collection to find), I stumbled across a display of limited edition items from Loreal HiP.  But, there was one thing missing - all of the stock, of course!  It looked like it was completely rampaged by a pack of bulls!

Luckily, I found one eye shadow brush hiding in another area retailing for $9.99.  Ever since my new venture (which I haven't blogged about yet) I've been obsessed with finding the best makeup brushes.  So, it's kinda like an addiction just to pick-up a makeup brush here and there.  Just like nail polish, I can't ever leave a store without em'.

Honestly, I don't think your missing anything as far as the make-up brushes.  But, don't take my word just yet.  I'll be offiically reviewing the brush very soon. 

On to the, Clear eye color cream.  At one time, this was pretty easy to find.  But, once Loreal got wind of this highly reviewed stuff - they yank it off the shelves and make it "limited edition".  And, you know how the story ends from there, ladies.  I was a little bummed because there wasn't one in sight.

Loreal Hip LE products should be floating around somewhere.  So, keep your eyes peeled!

China Glaze Wagon Trail has a twin sister

One of China Glaze's prize winners from the Fall Rodeo Diva collection is Wagon Trail.  A gorgeous black with goldish green shimmer - that's truely unique.  Yes, it's black - but very suitable for most people.  This is a color that can't mistaken anywhere.  So, when I popped into my local drugstore and saw the new wet n wild display, I knew it was an exact dupe.

Wet n Wild's Stunner applied perfectly within two applications.  The formula was a tad bit thicker than China Glaze's, which was nice. 

Stunner is a excellent dupe for Wagon Trail - if you can find it.  You'll probably have better luck finding Wagon Trail since it's readily available online.  Regardless, both shades are equally beautiful.

Lippmann Collection: New Shades for Fall

Deborah Lippmann introduces a whole bunch of goodies this fall for your nails.  A couple of items I picked up from the fall collection is Party Like a Rockstar Set ($25) and Superstar ($15).

Party Like a Rockstar Set includes two (small size) limited edition shades: Good Girl Gone Bad - a gorgeous purple with pink and silver shimmer, Devil in a Blue Dress - a midnight blue and a small fast dry topcoat.

Good girl gone bad - a sexy purple vixen nail polish named after Rihanna's hit album/song.  A gorgeous purple loaded down with pink and silver shimmer.  Since there is so much pink shimmer, this looks magenta purple in some lights.

Devil in a Blue Dress - a darkened navy blue - black creme.  This is just your standard midnight navy blue creme - nothing special.

Debroah Lippmann best describes Superstar as a copper flecked fudge.  A brown base coat filled with massive amouts of copper, brown and gold glitter.  Superstar is definitely out of the ordinary and different - which is one of the reasons it's starting to grow on me.

Fall 08 Collection: Borghese Wines of Tuscany

Borghese introduces the Wines of Tuscany collection this Fall 08'.  A collection of seven limited edition shades of vampy reds, pinks, browns, and plums.  Overall, this is a nice collection espically, if you love dark, vampy plummy shades.

Out of the collection, I came home with four of the stand-out shades.  The pink and reds didn't interest me much because it's just your standard hot pink and reds - nothing unique.

 Pomino Plum - a burgandy plum with pink and blue shimmer. 

Vini Violet - a deep magenta purple creme.  This was one of my favorite shades out of the collection.  It's a much deeper purple magenta in real life and looks fantastic on toes.

Brunello Grape - A deep blackened grape with matching shimmer.  A very gorgeous, vampy shade for fall.  There was another similar shade in this collection to Brunello Grape but, not as pretty in my opinion. 

Espresso Brown - a brownish red with red and gold shimmer.  The wines of Tuscany collection is now available at your local CVS or Walgreens.

Limited Edition: New colors from Wet n Wild

Wet n Wild introduces six new limited edition rock solid nail colors this season.  Overall, this is a fabulous mixture of dark and seducing shades for fall.  This collection is definitely a hit, retailing at just $2.69 a pop.

The colors ranging from dark steel, blue, purple and red's - sure to please any appetite.  One particular thing I would have changed is the red shades.  Mysterious is just your basic red shimmer.  And, boy, if that were substituted for a green version - nail addicts around the world would be going crazy for this.

Pictured Above, Femme Fatale - a dark charcoal grey with blue and green shimmer that is one of my favorites.

Check out more swatches below.   

 Sexy Siren - a vibrant blue with aqua blue shimmer.  Very pretty but, not so unique.

Seductress - a blackened purple with pink and purple shimmer.  Blackened shades with shimmer are really hard to capture on my digital camera.  But, this color is much pretty in person.

Stunner, wow - the name just says it all, doesn't it?  A black with gold specks of shimmer and a exact match to China Glaze's Wagon Trail.  If it wasn't for the release of Wagon Trail, I'd say this is the most unique out of the collection.

 

Temptress - a dark, vampy blood red with matching shimmer.  A sexy dark red that's stunning.  It may not be the most unique but, it's definitely goes with the fall theme.

 

Mysterious is just your basic ruby red shade with pink and red glitter.  In the picture above it looks more as a cherry red but, it real life it's actually darker.  Mysterious was my least favorite shade out of the Mistress of Darkness collection.  Now, if they'd substituted this red for a dark vampy green - well, I think we all know how that would have went, right?! 

This collection should be available at most grocery stores, drug stores, etc.

Limited Edition: NYC Gets Metalicious for Fall

New York Color cosmetics introduces the metals for fall.  A collection consistsing of mineralize metallic eyeshadows, two lipsticks, lip gloss and a must have metallic nail polish - that's a definte hit in my book!

This limited edition display should be hitting most stores now or later this week.  Make sure you keep your eyes peeled because, my store only had two slots for Molten Metal nail polish *gasp*!  Should of, would of, could of picked up the other bottle but, I wanted to give someone else the oppurtunity to grab this awesome nail shade.

24KT Chrome lip gloss is a gold loaded down with gold shimmer.  Marbleyes mineralize metallic eyeshadows in Aquamarine - a teal shimmer mixed together and Tiger's Eye - a light bronzy gold shimmer mixed together.

Saving the best for last.

Ever since Michelle gave us a preview of Molten Metal - I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.  If you have any doubts, don't.  Because your doubts could be someone else's treasure. 

Molten Metal's a very hard color to describe.  A reddish burgandy brown based loaded with silver glitter.  One thing I absolultey loved about this color, it compliments everything, and I mean everything.  Pinks, Reds, Purple, you name it.  It's totally smashing, you guys!

Borghese Roman Holiday Collection

Borghese introduces another nail polish collection this season - The Roman Holiday.  An ultra blingy collection of six limited edition shades consisting of: silver, gold, reds, pinks and plums - perfect for those holiday occassions.  All six shades are loaded down with mass shimmer - to sparkle and shine.

Overall, this is a great collection - particularly if you love shimmer based polishes.  Out of the six shades, only four stand out colors came home with me.  The other two colors I choose not to purchase was just your standard cherry red and hot pink shimmer's.

Bella Blackberry is one of my favorite shades out of this collection.  A deep burgandy plum color with pink shimmer.

Romanza Ruby - a ruby red with pink and red shimmer.  In my swatch above, the color may look more cherry red but, in real lift it's a darker ruby red.  Perfect holiday event color.

Celestiale Silver and Trevi Gold aren't your standard gold and silver metallic shades.  Both colors are unique in their own way with a pewter colored undertone.

Celestiale Silver is a light silver with matching shimmer and pewter undertones.  Both these polishes have the same texture as Chanel's Kaleidoscope. 

Trevi Gold can be described as a dirty toned down gold that also has pewter colored undertones.  Check out some comparisons below.

Chanel Kaleidoscope has more noticeable pewter color compared to Borghese but, may not be so different in real life.  Although, the colors are different they all share one thing in common - the pewter colored undertones.

Nail Polish of the Day: Loreal Fanatic Fuschia

Hope you guys are having a great weekend.  Today I'm wearing one of Loreal's newest fall colors.  Fanatic Fuschia - a deep fuschia pink shade that's actually more appealing in real life.  This picture didn't turn out quite as I hoped.  Sadly, the color represtentation isn't as accurate for some reason.

In Loreal's new fall display, two limited edition nail colors are featured - Fanatic Fuschia and Plum Pop.  Orignially, I didn't pick up Fanatic Fuschia because it wasn't so unique.  But, after seeing this several times at the store, my mind was changed very easily.  Plum Pop - is another shade I picked up and is more of a black purple color that's featured on Penelope Cruz in the promo display.  I'll be posting that sometime next week.

So, this weekend I was able to check out MAC's Emanuel Ungargo - which was slightly disappionting.  But, don't worry because Chanel's Holiday 08 collection certainly makes up for that!  The true stunner is the gold highlighting powder.  It's truely magnificent and quite different from the Gold Fever highlighter that was featured in the Fall 08 collection.  I'll be posting the holiday swatches and reviews shortly!  Stay Tuned!

Sally Hansen Fall 08: Tracy Reese Collection

Year after Year Sally Hansen collaborates with fashion designer, Tracy Reese to bring us the latest and greatest nail trends right from the Runway.  For Fall 2008, Sally Hansen and Tracy Resse introduces 10 limited edition shades directly from Tracy's Fall 2008 Fashion Runway show.

The fall collection includes 10 new shades sure to please any appetite.  The shades range from your basic nude colors to vampy and edgy - perfect for fall trends.  Sally's best selling formula provides full coverage with two easy applications.  Some colors used three applications just to even everything out.  But, overall, two coats was the average for me.

I'll be the first to admit - nude colors aren't my thang but, Divinity - a true nude with gold shimmer and slight pink undertones ended up being one of my favorite shades from the Fall collection.

 

Quartz Chameleon - a soft pink with gold shimmer.

Moonstone was my least favorite shade from the Tracy Reese collection.  Despite the grey bottle color, it's more of an white frost with silver shimmer. 

If it wasn't for Sally Hansen's previous release in Gunmetal, I would be all over this color.  Stormy Blue was slightly disappionting just because Gunmetal is pretty much an exact dupe.

 For the swatch above, three coats were applied on each nail.

Raven's Wing - a black loaded down with black, gold, and silver shimmer that's very blingy.  I absolutely love black nail polish colors for Fall - it's the new blue baby.  What makes Raven's Wing different from any other black is the beautiful gold base shimmer.

The Good Earth - a dark brown coffee shade with gold and red shimmer.  Good Earth is a darker brown than Chanel's new one, Haute Chocolat.  Check out the brown nail polish comparisons.

Alchemy, another favorite from the collection, a magenta purple with red and pink shimmer.

Cruel Heart - a ruby red with matching shimmer.  Just your standard red, nothing special.

Night Lily - a deep berry purple pink creme.  Unfortanetly, my swatch isn't an accurate color respresentation for some reason.  It's a much deeper purple berry shade that's very pretty. Check out an example below.

Night Lily has the same base color as Massini's Purple Medallion.  Just to give you an idea how off my swatch is above.

MAC Manish Arora Collection: Highly Overrated

MAC's Manish Arora collection is all about the packaging, hands down.  And, if you weren't up all hours of the night (like myself) stalking MAC's site then you probably missed out.  So, I was really trying hard to bit my tongue with this one but, I just can't resist.

I'm usually on the ball when it comes to these ultra exclusive limited edition releases from MAC.  But, with my hectic schedule and maintaining my blog, I just don't have time to sit around stalk like I was 16 yrs old again.

So, if your "many" who missed out - don't worry because your not missing anything, really.  Infact, most of the colors are repromotes which baffles me anyway.  But, thanks to all the Ebay hoarders out there, this collection is going for insane amount of money.  Seriously, how can you charge three or even four times the amount and not have a gulity concscious?!  Who knows, I guess that's just me.  I like to "help" people rather than '"rip" them off.

My New Love: Laura Mercier Caviar Dreams

Good Afternoon, Lovelies!  My poor blog needs some much deserved attention. Yesterday, I received a sweet little package from Sephora and couldn't wait to tell you guys about it.

Laura Mercier's Caviar Dreams ($15.00), from the Black Tie Collection is described as a gorgeous duochrome that shifts between Charcoal Gray, Green and Purple that's simply amazing! The formula was smooth and two coats gives you good coverage with no true application problems. Since the formula is rather thick, you may able to pull this off in one coat.

Here's an example of the Charcoal duochrome, which you'll see more of in the sunlight. It's definitely unique and I own nothing like her. if you love green and duochromes make sure you grab this fast ladies!

New Holiday Mini Sets from Borghese

When you start to see the Christmas trees, lights and decor - you know the Holidays are right around the corner, which only means, exclusive gift sets! I'll be the first to admit, I'm a sucker for seasonal collections including this one from Borghese.

Each limited edition set includes four, small nail lacquers with Micronized Gemstones or what I'd like to call, Glitter. The mini sized bottle is accompanied with a pint size application brush that I had minor issues with. No biggie, but worth mentioning.

Are you ready for some swatches? Lets start with the first set called, Allegra.

Gold Glitter is a warm toned gold with gold glitter. It's much warmer than Nubar's 24K Nail Polish.

Red Glitter is a fabulous holiday color, it's an opaque red loaded with gold glitter. 

White Glitter is a frosting like white glitter with micro glitter that can be topped over any nail color or worn alone.

Black Glitter is a opaque black with silver glitter.

White glitter layered over Black glitter.

Next is the Serena Collection. 

Brown Glitter is a semi sheer brown/red with gold, red and silver glitter. If you love OPI's Holiday Glow like I do, you'll love this one. 

As soon as I swatched Green Duochrome, I knew we had a winner and a close dupe to Laura Mercier's Caviar Dreams. It's a gorgeous duochrome that switches from Gray, Green and Purple depending on the lighting. Really fabl!

 

Even though Borghese Green is a teensy bit more blue toned or tealish compared to Laura Mercier's, it's great alternative to the fabulous Caviar Dreams. 

Multi Color Glitter is a clear/sheer with blue, purple, gold and red glitter that's a close dupe to Sally Hansen's Rockstar Pink.  

Purple Shimmer is a vampy purple/plum with micro shimmer.

Overall, Great Sets! A perfect holiday gift for any fashionista. Each set includes trendy, up-to-date colors that are fabulous and unlike the typical package sets. Downside, I found the price of $9.99/set a bit high considering each bottle is only .14 oz. The smaller application brush gave me some minor issues. Micronized Gemstones or Glitter? Whatever the case, these are awesome! Borghese, we want full sizes!

My favorites: Green Duochrome, Brown Glitter, Red Glitter, Black Glitter and Gold.

Limited Edition: Wet n Wild Holiday Gift Sets

The label should read - calling all nail polish junkies!  A few days ago, I stumbled across Wet n' Wild's holiday gifts sets for five bucks at my local Meijers.   Of course, the only reason that attracted me to the gift set was the precious metal nail polishes that looked simply metalicious and right up my alley.

Five bucks is a great deal for seven different beauty items.  Heck, you can't even get a bottle of Sally Hansen's Salon polish for that price.  Cosmetic companies are marketing geniuses around the holiday season.  They always include one or two fabulous products in holiday sets that you just can't resist.  In this case, it's the metall nail lacquers.

Check out the nail colors below. 

The nail poilshes don't officially have names since their included in gift sets, just shade numbers.  352 is described as a red/pink metallic with silver shimmer. Application and formula was perfect. 

354, my obvious favorite, is described as a pink/purple metallic with silver shimmer. This shade is so cool you guys, it's like piinkish purple foil on my nails - totally retro.   

Don't need the extra items?  You can always give the extra goodies to your sister, mom, friend or even a reader on your blog or site!

MAC and Hello Kitty: Let the Insanity Begin

You've heard the rumors for months now.  WWD sets the records straight for this highly anticipated collection we've all been waiting for.  Seriously, do you know how insane the demand is going to be for this collection?  Read more details below.

MAC has teamed up with Sanrio Global Consumer Products to create a Hello Kitty color cosmetics collection.  This new collection will arrive on MAC’s Web site Feb. 10, in North American stores on Feb. 12 and into overseas stores in March.

“We are thrilled to partner with a brand that shares the vision of offering an innovative, authentic and transforming experience to our loyal fan base,” said Janet Hsu, president of Sanrio. Sanrio’s worldwide retail sales of licensed products for 2007 is estimated at $5 billion.

While the 34-year-old Hello Kitty character is usually assumed to be a cat, she is actually a girl, according to Sanrio. And a girl without a mouth, so she “speaks from the heart,” the company said. “She may not have a mouth, but she’s going to sell a lot of lipstick,” cracked Demsey, noting that a waiting list for the items will go live on Jan. 7 at maccosmetics.com.

“To me, MAC Hello Kitty embodies the ultimate beauty icon,” said Jennifer Balbier, senior vice president of product development for MAC Worldwide. “She’s sweet and sexy, slightly edgy, and appeals to a wide range of customers. We wanted to reflect that through a sweet side, but also something slightly mischievous when it came to the colors. I started out by creating a palette of pinks, since they fit and always trend well in the spring. And this look is so much about the eyes that we did two eye shadow quads.” The Lucky Tom quad has violet blue, brown, gold and pink-coral shades, while the Too Dolly palette has mint, blue-silver, pale pink and magenta shades.

“We incorporated glitter eyeliners because she loves anything that twinkles, and we took the coral and hot pink theme and did pretty, poppy [colored] blush,” added Balbier.

While this collection is intended to have a sophisticated presentation, MAC hopes to appeal to younger fans with two shades of lip conditioners.

The Hello Kitty offerings fall into two collections: the Hello Kitty Colour Collection and the more high-end Hello Kitty Kouture. The bulk of the items are in the former category: six shades of lipstick with names like Fashion Mews and Strayin’, each $14; six Lipglass shades, each $14; and two tinted lip conditioners, $14.50 each; two eye shadow palettes, which each contain four shades and retail for $38; two shades of pigment are $19.50 each, and two Reflects Glitter stockkeeping units — one blue, one pink — are $17.50 each.
