MAC Cosmetics: A Mei Review and Swatches

A Mei Amore! Growl!  Can I just say how impressed I am over this collection!  For starters, the details on the eye shadow palettes are incredible!  Beautiful stitching!  And, the packaging is to die for, of course!  The Biggest hit of this collection, that you will hear me raving on about, is the lipstick, Siss!  OMG!  If you love neutrals, you have to have this lipstick!  In my personal opinion, it is the best true "nude" lipstick out there!  But, I knew this lipstick was going to be a hit because it sold out in a matter of hours online.

LIPSTICKS: Siss, A Muted golden beige (satin).  This is a completely nude lipstick.  When I hear the term "nude," the first thing that comes to mind is Christian Louboutin nude high heel shoes.  And, that is exaclty the color of this lipstick.  It is not sheer whatsoever, it is a matte to satin lipstick.  I have been on a hunt for a true nude beige lipstick for so long, and I am so excited about this!  This literally sold out in a matter of hours when MAC released it online.  Good news is MAC has it back online, and it's only a limited supply, So don't miss out!  Ruby Woo, A Vivid blush red (matte).  This is a very pretty and intense matte red lipstick.  I would almost have to describe it as a Christina Auguilera red.  I love bold red colors, so I was quite pleased with the color also.

LIPGLASS: She's a star, A Lustre-shined light neutral gold (Frost).  This is a must have with the Siss lipstick.  Since the lipstick is a matte to satin, the lipglass gives it a polished look, which is gorgeous.  Love Rules, A Fuchsia with white sparkle pearl.  This is more a a dark fushia pink color with alot of shimmer.  The MAC website swatch looks completely lilac purple, and it's not at all!  It gives Ruby Woo that kick and shine it needs if you don't like matte lipstick.  For those who didn't get a chance at the Malibu Barbie lipglass, from the almost instantly sold out, Barbie loves MAC collection, well Love Rules is VERY VERY similar.  The only difference is Love Rules is just a tad bit darker, but, just as shiny and beautiful as Malibu Barbie Lipglass.  I'm going to try to get a swatch up today comparing Love Rules and Malibu Barbie.

EYE SHADOWS: Bold Eyes. Three shades of Eye Shadow Venus (S), Freshwater (VP), and Carbon in a compact featuring the traditional needlework pattern of A Mei’s native Taiwan embroidered onto a plaque insert.  Venus and Freshwater are MAC standard colors.  Freshwater was my favorite out of these colors.  Neutral Eyes, Three shades of Eye Shadow Vanilla (V), Mulch (V), and Brown Down (VX) in a black compact featuring the traditional needlework pattern of A Mei’s native Taiwan embroidered onto a plaque insert.  All three are MAC standard colors.  Overall, the eye shadows packaging was more impressive than the colors.  But, if you don't have these colors, it's well worth it.  A 213 SE eye brush is included in both palettes.

Overall, I loved this collection.  Buy worthy is the lipsticks and lipglasses.  If you love nude, and I do mean "nude" Siss lipstick is for you.  It can also be spiced up by a pink or peachy lipglass that would look great.  I love this color so much,  that I'm going to order me another one before they are gone!  Update: The Siss lipstick sold out AGAIN, in just hours after MAC recieved some in stock! Ruby Woo lipstick has also sold out.  If you had a chance to get this, please let me know how you like it!

MAC Cosmetics Authentics Review and Swatches

The Above is an actual picture of the MAC Authentics Face Palette that I took this morning (I felt like being creative today)!  At first, I really wasn't thrilled about this collection.  I only ordered this because I was given a Macy's gift card for Christmas.  I have to say, I am pretty excited I did.

The very first thing that caught my eye on this palette was the blush color.  It is a very peachy to deep coral color that will look gorgeous for Spring and Summer.  So, I am quite pleased with the blush.  Blackberry is one of MAC's standard eye shadow colors.  A purplish-brownish color, perfect for crease lines.  The Moss Spot is a gorgeous moss greenish-yellow shadow that looks beautiful with green eyes espically.  Total Bliss is my favorite out of the bunch.  It is a light neutral beige with pink reflects, which is great for a highlighter also.  I am pleased with all the eye shadow colors.  Although, I don't think I would wear them all together at once.  But, don't knock it until you tried it, right?  So, I will be trying the look soon.  Another reason I like this palette so much is, you can toss it in your purse, pocket, back-pack,  and have a blush, eyeshadow (s), highlighter, and 213 SE brush.  It is perfect for those stay overs and for quick, on-the-go touch-ups.

I used two different kinds of bases on these eye shadow swatches.  The top set is used with MAC Paint in Sublime Nature, which is more of a matte based texture.  The Bottom set is used with MAC Paint Pot, Bare Study, a shimmery paint.  Overall, I think the matte paint had more color payoff and a slight shimmer to it, which was perfect.

On the Blush, I did not use any base underneath.  I absolutely love this peach coral color.  It looks great on darker skin tones as well as lighter skin tones.  Remember, this is an exclusive, limited edition palette, and only available at Macy's and other fine federated department stores.  This is not available at any of the MAC Stores or online.  If you are somewhat on the fence about this, I would go ahead and purchase it.   You can't go wrong with this face palette.  Your getting: 1 Blush, 3 eyeshadows, compact mirror, 213 MAC eye brush, all for $34.00.  Would you buy this palette?

Last Summer, I was able to try, Stila's Gold Glow eye shadow trio (pictured below).  And, I have to say I absoultely loved it!  It is one of my all time favorite eye shadows.  So, I am very excited about this new one.  Gosh, where can I begin with these.  The colors and the shimmer is just gorgeous!  I use them as highlighter, eye shadow, lip base, and anywhere on your body!  If you do not like shimmer, then, you will not like this product.  But, if your all about shimmer and being a bronzed beauty, then this is a must have for summer!  I love this so much, I am going to get the remainder of the collection.  The pink cheek duo is also gorgeous!  See collection photos below.   Don't forget to take advantage of Stila's 2 for 1 Sweet Deal

MAC Cosmetics: Fafi Collection Color Story

These pictures clearly speak for themselves!  WOW, was my first expression when seeing these product photos back in December of 2007.   There is always one or two collections that will be a huge hit, and this is going to be one of them!  I'd never thought any collection could top Barbie loves MAC, but, I may be wrong!  So many things I'm looking forward to seeing in these collection.  Paint Pots, Blush, Eye Shadow Palette's, Nail Polish, Lipstick, Lipglass, Fafi Doll's (not pictured but, will sell out super duper fast), and the cosmetics bags.  Which, pretty much sums up the whole collection!  Last year, around the same time as Barbie love MAC was released, the Barbie Dolls sold-out instantly, and were going for $400+ on ebay.

Fafi, a french Graffiti and Fine Art Graphic Artist, who is known for her images of sexy and liberated girls.  Her drawling and graffiti's are absolutely amazing!  If you've never seen any of her Drawling's or Graffiti's, click here to check them out.

OPI India Collection: Review and Swatches

OPI India Collection for Spring/Summer 2008 has officially launched today.  I had a chance to get a sneak peek at this collection, and pick up a couple of bottles.  First off, I really love India inspired collections.  This collection has a little bit to offer for any appetite.  Neutrals: Soft Grey and Opal colors.  Dark: A gorgeous blue that no-one should overlook, and a deep burgandy with red shimmer.  Metallics: Sheer Gold and Bronze perfect for summer. Brights: A beautiful fuschia magenta (pictured on model), Bright Pink .

If you haven't been locked up and living as a hermit, then you know by now,, that blue is the "IT" color for Spring/Summer 2008.  Most nail collections this season have featured some kind of blue shade.  Chanel Blue Satin, is one of my personal favorite nail colors this season, but, something was just missing.  As much as I love Blue Satin, it's just too darn dark without putting a topcoat of Azur.  Don't get me wrong, I still love the color and will continue to wear it.  But, it was hyped up so much, that I already had high expectations and the vision in my head didn't match up with actual color.  Maybe if the formulation wasn't as thick, it would have an potential of being a 10.

Charmed by a Snake.  A bronzed color that is perfect for any anybody.  This is a great color and much approiate for warm and cool tones.  This is definitely tied with MoonSoon or Later as my second favorites.  "Bronzed" and "Goldened" are one of the color trends for this summer, which brings me to the next color.

Curry Up Don't Be Late.  A sheer gold color with yellow undertones. I think this color is more appealing to the warm tone crowd.  A Metallic Yellowish-Gold is a tricky color to pull off.  But, I'm really liking yellow this spring/summer.  If your feet get really tan in the summer, this is a must for pedi's!  Check out the OPI India Collection Promo Ad, featuring this color.  I'll be honest, I love this color but, it was really hard to paint my nails.  It's very sheer, and I certainly needed 3 heavy coats to cover completely.  But, it's defintely worth the hassle, the color payoff is a gorgeous metallic yellow-gold.

Lunch at Delhi.  Described as a soft coral shade with pink-undertones.  I honestly don't see the pink undertones in this one.  It defitnely has more reddish undertones which makes it dark coral color which is really pretty.  Coral is going to be an "IT" color this spring/summer 2008.

I'm Ind-ia Mood for Love.  Described as a Fushia-Magenta color.  A Magenta Fushia creme color that is a must have for pedi's this summer!  Take a look at the model in the picture above.  She is wearing this color.  How cute would that be on your toes, white flip-flops, and a toe ring.

Yoga-Ta Get This Blue.  So true to the name.  Yoga-Ta Get this Blue!  What are you waiting for!  WOW!  This color is exactly what Chanel Blue Satin lacked and is amazing.  It is exactly the blue I have been looking for.  If you love the blue nail polish trend, well, this is going to be your holy grail color.  So, what makes this blue different from all the hundreds out there?  Well, OPI for one, secondly the beautiful aqua and blue shimmer that makes this perfect!  And, one more thing, it LOOKS blue! Unlike Blue Satin and many others, where it looks black-ish in different lighting.  Russian Navy fans, get ready, your going to love this color!  Same type of texture, instead of the purple-ish pink shimmers, it's aqua and blue.  This is my favorite color of this collection, and think it's going to be a HUGE hit.

MoonSoon or Later.  I absolutely LOVE this color!  Described as a bright reddish-organish color.  I think this is one of the colors that most people will overlook.  And, if you love orangey-red's, this defintely shouldn't be overlooked!  It's not as bright and orangey as you might think.  Described as a creamy tomato red.  At first, I honestly overlooked this color.  Two days later, I saw this color and messed with it a little bit, and ended up loving it and purchasing it.  If your attracted to reds as I am, you'll love this!  This color is my second favorite, right under the blue.  Coral and Oranges are going to be a Hot color this summer!

Moon over Mumbai.  Descirbed as a gray shade.  I was really hoping I would like this color.  I'm honestly seeing more pink in this shade.  I would describe it as a very light pink shimmer with gray undertones.  It is a very pretty shade, but, I was hoping for more gray.  Essie's, Body Language is by far the best gray color I have seen this spring.  This color is much like Essie's 2008 Spring Collection.

Keys to my Karma.  Described as a rich tomato red color.  Honestly, I see this color being more like a cherry red opposed to a rich tomato red, which I have plenty of similar colors.

Elphantastic Pink.  Described as a bold carnation pink.  Much talk was going on about this color.  So, I was really looking forward to it.  But, I was quite disappionted.  My skin tone is warm and this color stands out like a sore thumb.  It's just too bright for me.  This color may look more appealing on cooler skin tones.

Here are some other colors I didn't get, but, would be more appealing for me in the fall.  Spring and Summer is almost here so, I'm ready for some colors.  Royal Rajah Ruby, a burgandy with reddish shimmer.  If the shimmer were light pink, this would be an huge it color.  This is more of a burgandy-blackish color.  Black Cherry Chutney, a dark black cherry red.

Below are some photo swatches I took from my salon.

The first picture was taken with a flash, the second without a flash.

Overall, I really liked this collection.  Yoga-ta get this Blue!  Go get this stuff now!  That was the best color hands down.  Followed by Curry up Don't Be Late, Charmed by a Snake, and MoonerSooner or Later.

What do you think of this collection?  Are you planning to purchase any colors?

Check out the ultimate summer accessory featuring two colors from the OPI India Collection.

    FEATURED - Friday, February 22nd 2008

    MAC Cosmetics: Slimshine Review

Pictured above from left to right.  Colors: Grenadine, Voile, Urgent, and Rock Out.  I picked up four colors at the MAC store from the Slimshine collection.  These were the colors that mostly stood out to me.  Slimshine is not a new lip product to MAC.  These were featured back in 2007, but, with high demand, they are going to be included in the permanate line now.  So, this isn't something you have to run out and buy now, thank goodness.

Their is definitely some suprises and disappiontments.  Voile, a sheer golden color, that is very beautiful on or overtop lipstick.  This is a color I normally wouldn't try, but, gave it a shot and it's quite pretty with gold specks of shimmer.  This will espically look great in the summer when you don't need much lipstick.  Rock Out, a hot pink color, which is comparable to Kissable which wasn't brought back this year, has great color payoff.

The Positive.  Slimshines are slim, sleek, and definitely stylish which is perfect for those nights out, when you need on-the-go touch ups.  Slimshine is a high gloss, vitamin e moisturizing, lipstick that is best described as the off-spring of lipstick and lip gloss.  Rock Out and Grenadine has really good color pay-off as for some of the other darker colors.  I picked up mostly darker colors because you don't need to apply as often, and you get more bang for your buck.

The Negative.  I really wanted to love these because they are so stylish and compact.  But, I remember why I wasn't so crazy about these last year.  They don't stay on whatsoever, espically the sheer colors.  I'm finding myself constantly re-applying them, just like lipgloss even after five or ten minutes, but I love the texture.  However, with the darker colors, I find myself not applying them as often because they have good color pay-off.  MAC's Slimshine promotional ad, featured the color Urgent.  This is one of the colors I was highly disappionted in because it is very sheer.  And, to get the exact color as the promo ad, you literally have to put it on 20 times, or have a red lipstick as a base.  Personally, for me these are best used over a lipstick for shine and moisture.

Overall, if you love lip gloss then you will love this product.  The two stand-out colors for me is Rock Out and Voile.  I don't do well with sheer colors, thats mostly why I chose the darker colors.  Maybe in the summer when I don't need as much coverage these will be more fitting.

Have you tried Slimshines?  If so, what do think?  Yah or Nah?

MAC Cosmetics Fafi: Review and Swatches Part Two

Eye Shadow Quads. I purchased both of these eye shadow quads.  I honestly, did not expect to like Quad 2, but, that ended up being my favorite.

Quad 1.  Vanilla, a white color witha a velvet finish, that is good for highlighting.  Hey Neutral, a shimmery tan color, that is very pretty nude color.  Pink Venus, bright pink frosted color, that has great color payoff and texture.  Howzat, a dark gray-ish black color, good for crease lines.

Quad 2.  Bold as Gold, a gorgeous shade of shimmery yellow-gold.  I really loved this color, perfect amout of shimmer that isn't over powering.  Shockwave, more of a shimmery tangerine color, that isn't as bright as it looks.  You're Fresh, as it looks green in the quad, it's quite sheer.  More of a greenish-yellowish shimmer.  Prankster, it may look navy blue, but, comes out more dark blue-blackish.

If you tend to play it safe, I would go for the Quad 1. If you are daring enough, I would definitely recommend purchasing Quad 2.  The colors may look funky, but, appear more sheerer than they actually look.

Paint Pots.  I absolutely love MAC's paint pots.  I purchased Cash Flow, and Perky.  I am planning to pick up Rollickin soon.  My favorite by far is Perky.

Perky, a coral-peach shimmer color, that is truely gorgeous, and the color pay-off is great.  This is a must have base for Quad 2.  Cash Flow, a goldish-brownish color, that is great with browns and neutral colors.  Rollickin, a tealish shimmery color, that looks great espically paired up with Parrot eyeshadow.  Nice Vice, a purplish brownish color, that was way too dark and purplish for my skintone (NC25).  Layin Low, a creamy flat brown beige color.  Girl Friendly, a very flat pink color.

Powder Blushes.   The powder blushes were something I didn't even look at twice until I saw in person.  They may appear "very bright" in their Fafi cases, but, that is not the case whatsoever.  The blushes have very  "build-able color".  I initially only purchased Hipness but, later purchased Fashion Frenzy.  It's really hard to choose between the two, because they are both equally beautiful.

Fashion Frenzy, a medium cool pink matte color that is very buildable.  Just be careful with the blush brush, you can easily get outta control  with the blushes, which might reflect the brightness of the color.  Fashion Frenzy looks great with Quad 1, Sexy n Fun lipstick paired up with Totally It lipglass.  Hipness, a warm peach matte color with a small hint of pink.  Hipness looks great with Quad 2, Strawbaby lipstick, paired up with Sugar Trance lipglass.

Iridescent Mineralized Powders.  These powders are just gorgeous, and by far the best out of the Fafi collection.  If you love to sparkle and shine, then these powders are for you.  Unfortanetly, I could not get a good picture to justify the beauties of these powders with them being so sheer.  I purchased Verve-vacious, more of a golden bronzed color.

Verve-vacious, a goldish bronzed powder with several pigmented gold flecks.  This is gorgeous, and can be used as a bronzing powder for summer also.  Sassed-Up, a soft golden peach-pinkish color.  I believe this color will be more appealing for everyone and the most popular.  Sassed-up is another one I would like to purchase, only if my bank account wasn't depleted by Fafi!  Belightful, a cooler brownish powder with gold specks.  Verve-vacious and Belightful were very similar in colors.  I opt for Verve-vacious because it's more becoming, and it's a limited edition color.

Nail Lacquer.  I purchased both of these colors, because I'm a nail polish freak!  However, I do think Girls will be Girl is more appealing than Boom.  Girls Will Be Girls, a pink with a specks of gold that makes it somewhat coral-ish.  The coral color is not very noticable to the naked eye.  If you prefer the sheerness, you will only need two coats.  However, In the picture above, I had to use 3 coats to cover my nail completely.  Boom, a burgandy color with specks of pink shimmer.  This metallic like color is very pretty, and looks great on nails.

Overall, Fafi is truely a great collection.  It offers alot of bright pink/corals, girly colors that are going to be "it" colors for spring/summer 2008.  Definite stand out items: Strawbaby and Fun n Sexy Lipstick, Sugar Trance and Totally It lipglass, Perky Paint Pot, and Sassed-Up mineralized powder.  The only items that are sold out nationwide is Fun n Sexy and Strawbaby lipstick.  But, they may still be available at your local MAC Store.

    MAC Cosmetics: Dazzleglass Glitter Lipgloss

Description: Hi-Tech Shimmer with Multi-Dimensional reflection sparkling gliltters and pigments providing maxium high powered shine that lasts for hours.  Appealing to wear; lush, and sparkling like diamonds.  Sensational in application that moisturzes and soothes the lips to make them look luxuriously fabulous.  Contains vitamain E to keep lips looking full and lush.

Dazzleglass happened to stumble upon ebay early!  These dazzling lip beauties don't officially release to MAC stores until May of 2008.  I have no idea how sellers get a hold of products this early.  But, no questions asked, I had to try a couple of them.  The name is so darn catchy.  It just sounds like a lip gloss full of glitter, and that is exactly what it is.

The two shades I ordered are Money Honey and Funtabulous.  I have to say I love dazzleglass!  I am really impressed with the texture of these lipies.  Their not as stick as the lipglass and filled with tons of glitter with makes it a plus in my book.  And, I'm all about glitter, so I'm loving these!  There are so many colors that are going to be available, and I honestly can say, every single one looks appealing to me.

Check out all the rainbow of colors...... photo swatches and product photos.

Dior: Limited Edition Poison Blue Nail Polish

Do you think the blue nail polish trend is too passe?  Well, think again!  This popular nail polish trend is just beginning and it's here to stay folks!  I suspect that this trend is going to stick around for quite sometime, and into fall of 2008.

Get ready Chanel and OPI, we have another contender knocking on your door.  What is it?  Poison Blue, a nail polish shade inspired by the legendary Dior Midnight Poison fragrance.  Available for the first time in the US, and exclusively only at Sephora.  Prior to the US release, this was only available in Europe.

Dior Vernis Long-wearing Nail Lacquer is drama at your fingertips! This spring, Dior takes nails to new levels of intensity by introducing Poison Blue, a deep midnight blue nail polish in a silky smooth formula for long-lasting, glossy nails. Only by Dior and only at Sephora.com.  $19.00 USD.

Is there really a difference?  Of course there's a difference!  The main different I notice, the formula doesn't have much shimmer which makes this polished and perfected.  Poison Blue is a very high gloss, and very sophisicated nail polish look.  I really like the polished look of Dior Blue Poision.  This is a great look not only for Spring, but, for Fall 2008.

Love the blue nail polish trend?  Don't worry, it's going to be here for a while!  Be on the look-out for some gorgeous Blue's and Green colors to arrive now throughout fall of 2008.  This color is very much appropriate to wear through summer and fall!  Have fun with it!

Our next appearence of blue nail polish comes from Nars.  Nars is releasing a blue nail polish for Spring 2008. Midnight Express, described as navy blue.  Stay tuned for more information.

Check out the review and photo swatch for Dior Vernis Bleu Poison.

Trend Alert: Safari Style for Spring and Summer

Safari and Exotic Prints Gear Up For Summer

No time for an African Safari?  No worries, we have you covered!  Safari style hits the fashion industry hard for spring and summer!  Exotic prints and safari style are gearing up for the summer and I am totally in love with this trend!  Beautiful, glistened golden-bronzed, oh my, this is right up my alley!

Pictured above are some of my top picks from Nordstrom.  Accessorize baby: Oversized wood, exotic, and resin bangles are a "must have" accessory this summer!  Don't be afraid, stack em up!  2, 4, or even 7, you can't go wrong with bangles and braclets!  Very Zexy!

The next must have accessory is shoes.  My jaw literally dropped when I saw the Kate Spade exotic print heels.  Although, a hefty price tag at $295, definitely this is a splurge not must have, but, wow.  Very shagadelic baby!

Nothing better than a perfectly matched manicure to go with this exotic safari trend.  Try OPI's Charmed by A Snake (a bronzed shimmer color) and Curry up Don't be late (a sheer gold glistened color) two colors I absolutely adore!

Dior Bleu Poison: Review and Photo Swatch

Dior limited edition vernis nail color in Bleu Poison

As ya'll know, I'm a little obsessed when it comes to blue nail polish so, I couldn't resist this one.  Dior just released Bleu Poison, an Sephora exclusive limited edition nail polish color, inspired by the legendary Dior Midnight Poison fragrance.  So, does it live up to the hype of all the other "navy blue" nail polishes out there?  How does it compare to the infamous Chanel Blue Satin?  I'll explain.

What's the difference?  Dior is a high-gloss, dark navy blue-blackish nail polish, with a slight hint of dark blue shimmer pigments.  Dior's formula is much thinner compared to Chanels Blue Satin, which made it a dream to apply.  Although, there is very little shimmer in this polish, it looks gorgeous in light, due to the perfect amout of shimmer to make this a very sophisticated polished look.

Dior proclaims long wearing, yeah right?  This formula is definitely long lasting and dreamy!  I love when I find a nail polish that is long lasting and easy to apply!  My manicure lasted me a good 7 "rough" days with no chipping.  So, thats is a plus in my book.  Check out the photo swatch below.

Dior Vernail Blue Poison, a limited edition color exclusively at Sephora.com

I love that fact that is more of a sophisticated glossy polish.  Perfect for the office, and those special night outs. Even though there is not much shimmer, it lets off the perfect amout of sparkle in the right light.

Blue Satin VS Bleu Poison.  One big difference is the consistency of the forumula.  Chanel's is much thicker than Dior which made it difficult to apply Blue Satin at times.  Another big difference, Blue Satin ususally looked dark blue-blackish is most lighting, except the sun.  Bleu Poison shimmers and sparkles in a sophisicated way in most lighting that isn't too overpowering.

Overall, I think that Dior's Blue Poison is much appropriate in the corporate world and the night life.  Also, perfect for those who love high-gloss cream polishes and those who like just a touch of shimmer.

My Current Obsession: Dior Pretty Charms

Dior Pretty Charms in 002 Pink Enchantment

So, I was on my way to my local Dillards in Kenwood Mall.  I had one goal, to get a bottle of Chanel white satin nail polish and then run out as fast as I can!  Well, as ya'll can see that did not happen whatsoever.  As I was running outta there, the Dior makeup artist caught me, and when it comes to beauty I can't resist, you had me at hello!  Anyway, the makeup artist was great and I learned alot about Dior that I had never known before.  The only thing that really make me look twice was the limited edition Dior Pretty Charms, which retails for $40.  Keep in mind this is not a new product.  I beleive it made it's first debut back in 2006, and sold out instantly.  So, it's back by popular demand and only for a limited time!

What is it?  A couture inspired style with a heart shape locket that opens to two lip shades and a mirror. This locket contains one shade of lipstick in matte pink, and a shimmery bubblegum lip gloss.

What I like about it?  I love when I find a product that's not only fashionable and stylish but, is also versatile in so many ways.  Everything about this locket is so girly and feminine.  The crystals, the heart shape, and lip shades.  I love couture style, so this is defintely a must have is my book.  Now, I'll tell you how versatile this is!  A lipstick, lipgloss, mirror, charm bracelet, and a purse charm for $40!  5 uses, 1 product, equals Fabulous.  Overall, for what you get, it's truely a great deal.  The best to come is yet!  Check out the picture below.

Steph's Balenciaga City Bag with Dior Pretty Charms Attached

Above is a picture of my holy grail Balenciaga bag I carry year-round (PS: I only have about 5 handbags total). If you love bag charms this is an absolute MUST!  I can't even count how many people have stopped me, complimenting on Dior pretty charms!  It's truely fabulous, espically when used as a bag charm!  And, the lippies are easily accessed so you don't have to dig around in your purse!  Check out the picture below being used as a charm bracelet.

Dior Pretty Charms Being used as a charm Bracelet

Above is a picture demostrates Dior pretty charms being used as a charm bracelet.  It's a little heavy on the wrist, but, wouldn't be any heavier if you were stacking bracelets or bangles.  I'll probably be using this as a bag charm mostly, but, looks super hot paired up with a chunky watch, so who knows.

What do you guys think?  Is this something you would wear?

MAC Strobe Collection: Reviews and Swatches

    MAC Cosmetics Strobe Collection Display

The Strobe collection offers a new line of sheer tinted moisturizing lip conditioners with added bonus's, SPF 15 and UVA/UVB retailing $14.50/ea.  They are very soft, creamy and feel wonderful on your lips, and just in time for the pool and beach.  I  just want to add that these lip conditioners are extemely sheer, which was a little disappionting.  It was really hard to capture a photo swatch due to the sheerness of this product.  Honestly, they are way to sheer for my liking, espically for $14.50/ea.  I think I'm going to stick to my good ole tinted burts bee lip balm, it's just as good!

MAC Cosmetics Strobe Collection Photo Swatches

  • Kiss is a coral pink sheer color that is very faint.  This color would go great for those looking to bring out the natural pigmented colors in lips.
  • Rays is a bronzy shimmery color that is my favorite out of the bunch.  This is a great color for those bronze beauties out there.
  • Blossom is a nice cool very sheer pink tone.  This color would be more apprioate for those who don't have pigmented lips.
  • Current looks mauve-brownish in the tube and is the darkest color of the bunch.
  • Beam is hint of shimmer clear color.  I honestly, could hardly see the shimmer in this color.  And, on the photo swatch it is not even noticable.
  • I didn't pick up anything in this collection, just because I felt nothing appealed to me.  The colors are extremely sheer, and to honest, I rather spend $14.50 on a MAC lipstick or lipglass.  Plus, I have to save my mula for the next exciting upcoming collection heatherette.

China Glaze Ecollection: Review and Swatches

    China Glaze Unplugged Photo Swatch

Suprisingly, Unplugged was my favorite color of China Glaze Ecollection.  A beautiful brown rust color with red and gold shimmer making this color stunning.

China Glaze Shower Together Nail Polish Swatch

Shower Together a bright turquoise blue color that is my second favorite out of the ecollection.  Many hollywood celebs have been sporting around this color.  This color is comparable to China Glazes popular, Aqua Baby.

China Glaze Ecollection Solar Power Nail Polish Swatch

Solar Power, a bright taxi cab color that represents the sun but, don't be afraid of this color!  Believe it or not, this color is going to be the "it" color geared towards summer.  Rescue Beauty Lounge also has a beautiful yellow color that I will be swatching soon.  I was really hesitant about this color at first, but, ended up like it.  Solar Power will look great on those pedi's.

China Glaze Ecolllection Tree Hugger Photo Swatch

Tree Hugger, a Granny Smith Apple shimmer color, that is perfect for spring.  I really like this color, it also reminds me of an sour apple blow pop.

China Glaze Ecollection Hybrid Nail Polish Swatch

Hybrid, a light brown shimmer that is very comparable to OPI Charmed by a snake.  This is a nice neutral color, that most will find appealing.

China Glaze Ecollection Recycle Photo Swatch

Recycle, a dark gray creme shade that's my first. Gray nail polishes are on the hot radar right now, so I think alot of us will really like this color.

Overall, I really liked this collection and the fact that the colors are based around the envirnoment is and A+ in my book.  The fact is, our Environment is in Crisis and we need to be aware of this critical problem.  What have you done to change the envirnoment?

I laughed when my husband handed my 20 cloth re-usable bags at Walmart to replace the plastic ones.  But, the fact is, he is the one laughing at me.  If everyone just makes the littlest change, it could make the biggest difference.

I would love to hear if anyone has done anything different to save the envirnoment.

    Gray Nail Polish Comparisons: Swatches

    gray nail polish

Happy Thursday lovelies! Hope your having a wonderful afternoon or morning, wherever you are. It's another rainy day in the neighborhood and a perfect time for some gray nail polish comparisons.

Just a little over a year ago, this stormy color was scarce to find, and today - I'm happy to report we have a few great picks to choose from.

My Most Memorable Gray: Although there are many fabulous shades of gray, I have to my give props to one that broke my gray virginity, China Glaze's Recycle from the E-Collection.

Back in Spring 08', when the E-collection was originally released, I had a completely different view of Recycle. It's defintitely a shade you have to warm up to. And, now I love it.

Some other favorites: Zoya Harley, Essie Body Language, LA Girls Flare Saharan Sand, RBL Concrete Jungle, MAC on the Prowl.

    (C) Creme (S) Shimmer  Check em' out!

Light Gray nail polish comparisons dupes

The Light Gray's (pictured above). Body Language and Saharan Sand are two of my favorites. It's a mix between gray, nude and white that looks really fabulous on. It's light, crisp and opaque.

Medium Gray nail polish comparisons dupes

The Medium Gray's. RBL's grays have just a pinch of stormy blue that makes them different from the others.

Dark Grey Nail Polish Comparisons Dupes

The Dark Gray's. Have a wonderful day! What's everyone's favorite shade of gray?

MAC Beauty Powder Blush: Review and Swatches

MAC Cosmetics Beauty Powder Collection Blushes Limited Edition

MAC Cosmetics introduces Beauty Blush Collection.  A Silky-fine, shot with pearl, this blush inspires a subtle glow in tandem with a pure colour vibe. Ultra-smooth, delivers a light and alluring shimmer together with a sheer-colour payoff. Builds colour for ultimate effect. In every way luxurious. Limited edition. 6 g / 0.21 us oz.  US $17.50.

These blushes are absolutely stunning, espically if you are a blush lover!  I really love all the mixture of colors, definitely there's a color suitable for most everyone in this collection.  As much as I wanted every color, I had to be realistic and only picked up one, True Romantic.  Sweetness blush is comparable to MAC Fafi Fashion Frenzy, and Joyous is comparable to MAC Fafi's Hipness.  So, if you picked up those two from the previous Fafi collection, I would rest assure and save your money.

Check out the beauty powder blush swatches below.

    MAC Heatherette: Review and Swatches

    MAC Cosmetics Heatherette Collection Display

Forget the reviews, the photo swatches justify everything!  I tried to get high quality pictures for you guys on the MAC Heatherette Collection.  But, as always its hard to capture beautiful color.

Overall, I really liked the Heathertte collection with the exception of a few items. MAC's previous collection, Fafi, which many of us were disappiointed (excluding myself), was my favorite.  I have to be honest, I really loved the Fafi collection.  I think many of us really didn't give Fafi a chance due to the bold daring colors and was hyptonized by Heatherette's pink packaging (ha ha I was).

On to the Heatherette collection.  WOW!  Fafi who?  This collection is going to be the Barbie loves MAC collection of 2008, and is going to be sold out extremely fast!  I always advise people not to wait when it comes to MAC's limited edition collections.  Because, you don't wanna pay those outrageous ebay prices.  If you love pink foremost, then this is a must have collection in your beauty wardrobe.

MAC Cosmetics Heatherette Lipstick and Lipglasses

Heatherette Lipstick and Lipglasses.  I purchased every color except Fleshpot Lipstick and Bonus Beat Lipglass.  They just seemed really dull and boring to me, compared to all the others from this colorful collection.  Fleshpot and Bonus Beat are somewhat similar to the Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop, as you can see by these swatches.  The only true difference is Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop are more orangish rather than beigish.

    Heatherette Eyeshadow Quads

The Heatherette Collection Eye Shadow Trio's. It was really hard to pick one eye shadow Trio, so I choose both.  My philosphy, whenever in doubt, get both.  No, really I don't condone that, because it will get you and your checkbook in trouble.  But, I did end up purchasing both, because they are equally beautiful.  Heatherette Trio 1 is my favorite out of the two, only because it has a gorgeous shimmery blue color.

MAC Cosmetics Heatherette Pigments and Glitter

The Heathertte Collection Glitter and Pigments.  The most definite stand out colors amoung the glitters and pigments are, Pink Pearl and 3D Silver.  Pink Pearl, described as a mid-tone pink color with blue undertones, that makes this color really pretty.  Another bonus to Pink Pearl is it can be used on your eyes, cheeks, lips, etc.  Pink Pearl paired up with Fafi's, Fun n Sexy lipstick (which also has blue undertones) would look great together.  3D Silver, describled as a multi-reflective silver metallic glitter, is right up my alley.  Although, 3D Silver is not eye safe, you can use it for other purposes.  The MA had $$$$$ Yes, mixed up with the 3D silver glitter and looked hot paired together.

MAC Cosmetics Heatherette Dual Edge Eye Pencils

MAC Heatherette Dual Edge Eye Pencils.  I love these bold pretty colors!  My must haves are the Pop Blue/Black Funk and Fab Orchid/Dash Lily.  I also liked Nighhawk/Front Row but, haven't decided if I'm purchasing it yet.

    Heatherette Collection Beauty Powders

The Heatherette Beauty Powders.  I had to pass on both beauty powders, just because I recently purchased two gorgeous beauty powders from the previous, Fafi collection.  Beleive it or not there is actually a swatch for Alpha Girl (very faint cool pink color).  Alpha Girl, described as a light pink with gold nuances.  The color is unbeleivealble light, I put numerous coats on my NC25/30 skin, and the pink is still very faint.  I think this color will be more appealing for cooler skin tones.  Smooth Harmony, described as a medium gold bronze color that is more on the organish side but, had great color payoff, espically for those with darker skin tones.  Smooth Harmony, is a color that would be more appealing to me rather than Alpha Girl.

    MAC Cosmetics Heatherette Nail Polishes

The Heatherette Nail Polishes.  The stand out color out of the two is, $$$$$ Yes.  I happened to pick up both colors, because Lola Devine is a nice coral shade I've been looking for.  Lola Devine, described as a soft mid-tone coral (cream) nail polish color.  This is a true coral color nail polish that is very pretty.  If you've been looking for that perfect coral color, well, Lola Devine is what your looking for.  $$$$$ Yes, described as a metallic silver foil (frost) nail polish color.  The MA had $$$$$ Yes combined with 3D silver glitter, and just looked devine. I really liked this color also.

Check out an great alternative to MAC's, $$$$$ Yes nail polish.

MAC Cosmetics Heatherette Shes Good Lash

The MA's went on and on about these pantent leather-look lashes way before this line was even released.  So, this was a must have for me.  I haven't personally worn them yet, but, saw them on and they look pretty hot.  If you love MAC's number 7 eyelashes, you will love these.  I love that they are very natural looking.  I'm saving these beauties for a special night out.

Chanel Summer Collection: Reviews and Swatches

Chanel Summer 2008 Collection Oasis quad, antilope, and flamingo nail polishes

Overall, I was really impressed with their Summer Collection.  Chanel's last couple of collections really hasn't impressed me, so, I was pretty excited.  This collection can be for anyone.  They have all the season's "it" colors.  Peach, pink, bronze, and corals are this seasons it's colors and it think they hit the nail on the head.

The thing I love about this collection, it's very suitable for "Green Eyes!"  I have light green eyes and olive complexion, and sometimes it hard to satisfy us, let's just say that.  These colors look amazing with green and hazel eyes.  Emeraude, gives a hint of color that's not too bold nor daring, and the Vert Bronze eyeliner, is very unique, like an olive green bronze liner.  Items I picked up: Oasis Quad, Nail Polishes, Gazelle Glossimer, Emeraude Mascara, Atoll eyeshadow fluid and Vert Bronze eye liner.  Gazelle, is by far a must have, it's simply gorgeous, and the color pay-off is great you don't even need a lipstick!

Chanel Summer Makeup Collection Nail Colors in Antilope and Flamingo

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Polish.  $19.00 USD.  Flamingo and Antilope are both limited edition colors for the Summer 2008 Makeup Collection.  Flamingo, described as a pink flamingo with gold shimmers, that makes this beautiful.  Antilope is a metallic light bronze sand color that is also gorgeous.  I think the most appealing color will be Antilope because it is a very neutral color.  Although, they are both gorgeous colors, and will sell out quicky, as most Chanel limited edition colors do.

Chanel Summer 2008 Limited Edition Nail Polish Colors

The Flamingo and Antilope has been applied with two coats.  One thing I love about these polishes is you can contol the color completely.  They apply somewhat sheer, but, can be darkened nicely with an additonal coat.

Chanel Nail Polish Comparisons Delice and Antilope

I've been hearing alot about these two colors lately.  So, I wanted to show you guys the comparisons.  Delice and Antilope may seem similar, but, are completely different in their own way.  Delice, is a very clear-to-light beige sheer polish with lots of gold shimmer.  Antilope, is a semi-sheer, sand frosty color, that does not have any shimmer.  Although, it may be semi-sheer it applies much thicker than Delice.  It actually has good color, and can be thickened easily by additional coats.  I definitely prefer Antilope over Delice.

Here are some additional swatches.  Stay tuned for more to come.

Chanel Summer Makeup Collection Glossimer in Gazelle Pinup and Seashell

Chanel Levres Scinttillantes Glossimer.  $26.00 USD.  Gazelle, a new color this year, described as a prailine pink color with orangish undertone.  I know it's described as a prailine pink, but, I'm seeing more peach in this color, which makes this a very hot and unique color!  Repromotes: Pinup, described as a frosted golden peach color and Seashell, described as a soft shimmering bubblegum pink color.  To be honest with you, I loved every single color, even though two are repromotes.  I can't say enough good things about Chanel's Glossimer's.  They really are FAB!

Chanel Lipstick Swatches in Curious, Leopard, Rose Flamingo and Naive

Chanel Aqualumiere Lipshine.  $26.00 USD.  Mauritius, described as a bronzed coral color and Zanzibar, a soft peach color.

Chanel Rouge Allure Satin Lip Color.  $30.00 USD.  Naive, described as a sheer light pink color.  Curious, described as a sheer nude brown color

Chanel Rouge Hydrabase Creme Lipstick.  $26.00 USD.  Rose Flamingo, described as a pretty pink flamingo color.  Leopard, described as a gold coral color.  Flamingo and Leopard both has awesome color payoff.  Both these colors are so calling my name, but, I just hate spending that much for lipstick!  Urggh! Check out some color combinations of the Lipstick and Glossimer's.

Chanel Summer Makeup Collection Lipstick and Gloss Combinations

Here are some Lipstick and Glossimer combinations.  Again, the Rose Flamingo and Leopard are the definte stand out colors to me.  One thing I love about Rose Flamingo and Leopard, it just takes the right lip gloss and you can accomplish every color shown here.  Rose Flamingo with Seashell or any light pink gloss will create the Navie/Seashell look.  And, Leopard paired up with Pinup or any light peach lipgloss will create the Zanzibar/Gazelle look.

When creating lip combinations, I always think in terms of "good color pay-off", when choosing a lipstick color.  Because, after all, that is your prime base, so make it a good one.  And, if you have good color pay-off, all it takes is gloss to create any of look or color.  Mix your glosses with lipstick colors you normally wouldn't, I bet you'll be surpised in the color outcome!

Chanel Summer Makeup collection Eyeliners in Vert Bronze and Expresso and mascara in Emeraude.

Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara. $27.50 USD.  Emeraude, described as a beautiful jade green color.  I messed around with the color today, and I do like it.  It's a Jade Green, but, isn't very noticable which is why I liked it.  Just a hint of color, that everyone can wear.  I espically loved it because it brought out my light green eyes.  This color would also look great with hazel eyes.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner.  $26.50 USD.  Espresso, described as a dark brown choclate color.  Vert Bronze, described as a green-bronze eyeliner.  The stand out of the two eyeliners is  definitely Vert Bronze.  It's a very unique color eyeliner that I really liked.

Chanel Ombre Deu Fluid Eyeshadow in Atoll and Eyeliner in Vert Bronze

Chanel Ombre Deu Fluid Irisdescent Eyeshadow.  $30.00 USD.  Atoll, described as a gold sand color.  This color is absolutely stunning.  It's a very pretty gold sand color that looks great alone or as an eyeshadow base!  Also, looks great paired with Vert Bronze eyeliner.  I really love Vert Bronze it's a very unique eye liner color!

Rescue Beauty Lounge: Steph's Spring Picks

Rescue Beauty Lounge Nail Polish Colors for Spring

Rescue Beauty Lounge features two of my favorite nail color picks for spring 2008!  What better way to celebrate spring with two eco-friendly colors.  I love rescue beauty lounge's formula and all the beautiful array of bold colors they offer.  The only drawback, they are $18.00 USD, just as much as Chanel or any name brand nail polish. But, it's defintely worth the money for the beautiful bold colors you wont find anywhere else!  These two shades I predict will be smoking hot colors for this Spring and Summer 2008.

Here's a little history if you are new to the Rescue Beauty Lounge name.  Several lab technicians quit their job before Ji was satisfied with the polish that would bare the Rescue name.  The result is a long-wearing polish created with resin and high molecular polymers to improve flexibility, durablitily and high shine.  What you won't find- harmful and drying Touluene, Formaldhyde or DBP.

I know alot of ya'll probably think I'm crazy for picking these bold colors, that most of us won't even wear!  But, they are HOT colors and anyone, any-age can wear them!  Come on break out of that shell, I know your in there!  Be daring!  Next time you go get a pedicure, manicure, or even do your own nails, try someting daring!  Have fun, summer's almost here!  Whoohoo!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle and Yellow Fever nail Polish photos swatches

Recycle, described as a deep blackish emerald green creme that is about 97% identical to the coveted, Nars Zulu, that was sold-out instantly at Sephora.  I actually prefer Rescues's Recycle over Nars Zulu polsh.  This is probably my favorite color of 2008 so far.  The blue/green trend is right up my alley.

Yellow Fever, described as a bright lemon yellow creme color, that just brightens my day like the beautiful sun!  I just get happy looking at this beautiful yellow color.  Rihanna, has been seen sporting around this "trendy" yellow nail color.  Yellow is going to be an hot color this summer. Green Bay Packers fans these are must have colors for next football season!  These colors rock together, espically for those packers fans!

Check out some nail polish comparisons below.

Yellow and Green Nail Polish Comparisons

China Glaze Solar Power, is more of a toned down mustard yellow color, with noticable shimmer.  This is a new color from China Glaze's ecollection, for spring 2008.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Yellow Fever, is more of a bright yellow color (like the sun) with hardly noticeable shimmers.  This is a new color from the Spring collection

My favorite is Yellow Fever.  It's a very bright and bold yellow color that looks great on darker skin tones.  I think yellow is going to be a harder color to pull off, for some.  But, I love bright bold colors, and I think anyone can pull it off, espically paired up with the right outfit.

Green Nail Polish Photo Swatch Comparisons

China Glaze Tree Hugger, is described as a granny smith apple color with noticeable shimmer.  This is a new color from China Glaze' ecollection, for spring 2008.

Rescue Beauty Recycle, described as a emerald green creme polish.  This color is very similar to the infamous, Nars Zulu.

I love green, and I love both of these nail polishes.  Think Green for spring!  Going green is an continuing trend this season, and what better way to start off with eco-friendly nail colors!

Neo Sci Fi: Swatches, Review, and Product Photos

MAC Cosmetics Neo Sci Fi Display

Overall, the Neo Sci Fi is everything I expected.  I think this collection offers a little bit for everyone.  Most shades are very wearable and neutral toned, which many of us will find appealing.  However, there is quite a bit of repromotes in this collection.  But, this may be a good thing, espically if you didn't have chance to grab these in previous collections.  If the color swatches didn't grab your attention, well be prepared, the packaging is sure to "wake" up your day!

It don't take a brain scientist to figure out summer collections are all about the traditional Sun Godess.  So, if you think your seeing deja vu here, you probably are!  The color shades range in Golds, Bronze, Peach, and Browns.  And, I think Sci Fi will be more popular with warmer skin tones.  I really had fun playing with all the colors and chatting it up with the MA's today.  Espically, about the nail polishes.

So, do you notice what's missing in this collection?  Pinks!  The fact that there's not many pink color shades in this collection really tickles my fancy.  I know, I know.... A girl cannot have enough pinks, right?  Well, Pink "RULEZ" in my makeup collection, so, this is definitely a move in the right direction.

Of course, I didn't leave the MAC store empty handed. Take a sneak peek at my haulin pictures.  Some items I picked up were: Sci Fi Delity, Astral, Pink Grapefruit, and Supreme.  For the complete run-down, check out my haul.

Check out all the photo swatches below.

MAC Neo Sci Fi Lipstick Swatches

    Neo Sci Fi Lipsticks

    • Astral - A mid-tone warm brown lustre with red and gold pigments. The red pearlized pigments are barely noticeable, and the gold shimmer makes this really pretty.
    • Sci Fi Delity - A burnt red frost with gold pigments. As soon as I swatched this, I knew this was love at first site.  It's a perfect color that isn't to bold that everyone can rock.
    • Electro - A very very bright neon orange.  As much as I love to look at gawk at this color, I need to get back to reality.  Because, I know electo would just sit their all lonley with her other sisters.  She has tons of sisters!
    • Pleasureseeker - A sheer creamy peach glaze.  I really wanted to love this color (it was on my haulin list), but, sadly, it was extremely sheer.  My lips are fairly pigmented, so, it took about 5 applications to get good color.
    • Sunsonic - A light beige gold frost.  So, before you go, uggh... This is suprisingly, a very gorgeous color when paired up MAC's lipglass.  I felt like I was in one of those "Got Milk" advetisments.  umm, yeah, it was basically like a white frosted ring around my lips.  I think ya'll can image what that resembled!  However, I topped off with supreme lipglass = an oh so dreamy choclate creation.

MAC Neo Sci Fi Lipstick Photo Swatches

    Electro....your so electrifying....

    http://www.stephscloset.com/blog/images/photos/large-590.jpg

     Lipglass

    • Naked Space  - is a nude peach with gold shimmer.  Naked Space is fairly light but,  a nice color, espically if your into nude colored glosses.
    • Soft & Slow - is a mid-tone creamy plum with gold shimmer.  A nice pink that has good color pay-off.
    • Pink Grapefruit - is a "must have" beautiful orange with gold pearl.  The swatches do not lie, it's absolultey amazing.  I plan on picking up a back-up this week.
    • Supreme - a rich milk choclate bronze with white pearl.  This is another color that just popped out to me, it's so rich.  It's also my first brown lipglass purchase.

MAC Neo Sci Fi Lipglass Swatches

    I'm hypnotized by Pink Grapefruit...

MAC Neo Sci Fi Eyeshadow Swatches

     Eyeshadows

    • Magenetic Fields - is a brown black with silver pearl.  The color is much more brownish than black.  It's a great darker brown, espically for crease lines.
    • Evening Aura -  is a frosty golden peach velux pearl.  Evening Aura was one of my favorite eyeshadows.  A very beautiful peach golden color for a softer look.
    • Femme Fi - A frosty golden creme pearl velux.  A great highlighting that has awesome color pay-off.
    • Time & Space - A rich copper brown that is highly pigmented.  The color pay-off is beyond excellent.
    • Expensive Pink - a pink with gold duochrome.  Although this is a permanent color, it is stunning.  I've owned this color for quite sometime and is one of my all-time fav's.

I know there's been alot of confusion about Expensive Pink.  This is a MAC permanent color.  So, don't let the bright orange packaging throw you off.  It's only being promoted with the orange packaging through the Neo Sci Fi collection.  However, the black packaging is available in their regular stock.

MAC Neo Sci Fi Eyeshadow Swtaches

    Some more pics below....

MAC Neo Sci Fi Blush Photo Swatches

    Powder Blush

    • X-Rocks - A shimmery dirty mauve with great color pay-off and pigmentation.
    • Spaced Out - A shimmery peach with good color pay-off.

MAC Neo Sci Fi Blush Photo Swatches

I have a fancy with powder blushes, so this was a must have for me.  Spaced Out wasn't as highly pigmented compared to X-Rocks.  But, I may be back to my MAC store to pick up X-Rocks because it was just as gorgeous.

MAC Neo Sci Fi Cremeliner Photo Swatches

     Cremestick Lip Liner

    • 80% - is a Deep cocoa brown
    • Beurre - is a dirted plum
    • Summerfruit - a pale coral

MAC Cosmetics Neo Sci Fi Nail Polish

Nail polishes are my major weaknesses.  I literally own about every color in the rainbow.  So, these color were a no brainer for me.  Check out the Neo Sci Fi photo swatches

     Nail Polish

    • Metalist - A soft light sand shimmer.  I think more of us will flock to this color because it's the safe route.  I passed on this color because it was boring and not unique.  In fact, it reminds me alot of Chanel Antilope and Dior's new summer one.
    • Plasma Blu - is an bright turquoise shimmer.   This is a pretty bright turquoise that will look fab on toes.
    • Neon 8 - is a coral orange shimmer.  Neon 8 is my favorite color out of the four colors.  The color isn't as bright as you think.  And, is a great orange shade.
    • Phosphor - a bright taxi cab yellow frost.

Product Review: Dior Sky Glow 5 Color Eyeshadow

Dior 5 colour Eyeshadow Quad in Sky Glow 009

Product: Dior 5 Couleurs in Sky Glow
    Price: $54.00
Steph's Rating: Stephs Rating 5 Kisses
    Buy it: Sephora
    Recommend: Yes

A few weeks ago, I had a chance to learn alot about Dior Cosmetics.  One thing learned, Dior focuses highly on skin care.  And, I have to say they have alot of great skin care products.  But, I wasn't interested at the time.  I had my eyes set on one thing, the Sky Glow 5 Colour Eyeshadow Quint.  I've passed the Dior counter on a numerous occassions, and just couldn't resist this time.  The gorgeous teal blue color was just calling out my name.  And, if you're a reader of mine, you know I'm pretty obsessed when it comes blues.

It's not very often I find a Quint (he he it's so fun saying Quint) that is absolutely amazing!  And, of course, the pictures do not justify the beautiful colors.  So, I decided pulled out my husbands professional Nikon D200 to try to get a true-to-color close up photo.  Check out the eyeshadow colors below.

Dior 5 Colour Couleur Eyeshadow Quad in Sky Glow 009

The colors include: teal/aqua blue (top left), bronze greyish-taupe (top right) this is an amazing color, white pearl (middle), gunmetal gray (bottom left), and silver (bottom right).  Sky glow, is becoming one of my all-time favorite eyeshadow combinations.  It may be on the pricey side but, when you break it down, it's $10.80/per color, which isn't bad.  The eyeshadow colors are gorgeous (not too shimmery), and when combined together, delivers a knock-out.  The colors lasted forever, just as long, as any MAC eyeshadow.

Check out some of my looks using all the colors from this Quad.

    Product Review: Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss

Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss Reviews and Photo Swatches

    Product: Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss
    Price: $26.00
    Steph's Rating:
    Buy it: Chanel, Nordies, NM

Let's start off by saying, my venture to the Chanel counter was quite frustrating.  I had all my swatches ready for their photo shoot, and come to realize, I left my memory stick in my laptop at home.  Argh!  I think any beauty blogger can relate to the frustration I was feeling at that exact moment. But, no worries, I was able to go back and get swatches for ya'll.

I was pretty excited to try these new glosses, knowing Glossimer is my HG.  I visited a few Chanel counters and only found one counter that received their shipment in super early.  So, if your counter doesn't have them yet, keep and eye out, they should be arriving this week or next.

Candy Glow was the only gloss I purchased yesterday.  It is a gorgeous, peachy-pink color, that was featured in the Chanel Promo Ad.  After swatching every color, this was the only color that caught my attention because they are pretty sheer.  However, Candy Glow is going to be a cameleon color much like it's cousin, Gazelle.  It's more peachy on me, but you can certainly see the pink shimmer to it.  This is a fabulous color for summer, espically to replace your lipstick.

Aqualumiere has much more shine to it and less shimmers and sparkle compared to Glossimer.  The applicator is different, much like Dior's Addict, but with a longer handle.  I found it very easy to apply, and liked the longer applicator much better than Dior's.  The only drawbacks I noticed is Aqualumiere didn't have the staying power as Glossimers and was much more sheer, espically the lighter colors.  But, the texture was just as good; not sticky and very smooth.  Candy Glow, is definetly a must have out of the bunch, espically if you love the coral trend.

Steph's Rating.  Their is two reasons why I only gave this gloss 4 kisses.  When I look for a quality lip gloss there is two things I look for; color pay-off and lasting power.  In which, Chanel Aqualumiere gloss lacked both.  However, for a shiny sheer lip gloss, the texture and lasting power is much improved from most brands I've tried.  I think if you like sheer lip glosses, you will love this!

Chanel Strikes Gold For Fall 2008

Chanel Strikes Gold for Fall 2008Chanel strikes gold for their 2008 fall collection Peter Phillips, a new creative director for Chanel's makeup line.  The collection will be released in July followed by Philips’ holiday collection, due for October, which will continue the gold rush theme.

The collection, due in to hit counters in July, which includes Gold Fiction, a softly shimmering nail polish, $30 (yikes); Facettes D’Or, a finely milled gold loose powder that reads on the skin as a subtle glow, $56; Gold Light Glossimer lip gloss, $26 (oh la la); Rouge Hydrabase lipstick shades in copper, plum and coral (yum another coral), each $27, and a quad eye shadow palette with gold, coffee, ivory and dark green eye colors, $56.

Looks like Chanel is hyping this Gold Fiction nail polish to be the next Black Satin or Blue Satin!  While Chanel’s nail polishes usually retail in the $19 range, Gold Fiction will retail for $30. “We’ve used high-end pigments to get the color and finish just right, and the outer bottle is also done in an [opaque] gold case.”  This is going to be a limited edition color but, may become permanent depending on it's popularity.

Chanel will reprise — and amplify — gold in its holiday color collection, due out in October, with Poudre Precieuse Or, a gold highlighting powder that will retail for $75; Gold Shine, a gold Glossimer lip shade, $26; Noir Scintillant, a black eyeliner with gold sparkle, $28, and Haute Chocolate, a gold brown nail shade, $20.

And, I thought $19 was expensive for nail polish, hola cow, $30 bucks!  Chanel keeps going up, up and away! I just don't know if I can justify $30 bucks a bottle.  It's really hard to judge by the promo pictures, so we'll have to wait and see the color swatches.  Stay tuned.

The Chanel Fall Collection has arrived.  Check out the review, swatches, product photos and nail polish swatches for this brand new collection.

Nail Polish Love: Dior's Golden Nugget

Dior 708 Le Vernis Nail Colour

While browsing through Dior's Gold Rush Summer Collection, many things caught my eye, but, one specific, Gold Nugget 708 Nail Polish.  I automatically reached for it to swatch, and it was just gorgeous.  Not like any bronze color I own.  It's really hard to describe this color because it's so unique.  It's a bronze nail color, with tons of gold shimmer which makes this an olive green bronze in some lights.  So, I rushed home and pulled out all my gold and bronze polishes, and I couldn't find one to compare.  Check out the swatch below.

Dior's Gold Nugget Nail Polish Photo Swatch

Dior released two limited edition nail colors in their Gold Rush summer collection.

Coppery Ginger 668, $19.00, described as a light metallic copper shade.  The texture reminded me of Chanel's Antilope nail polish, but was more copper toned.  I really didn't care for this one because it wasn't as unique as Gold Nugget.

Gold Nugget 708, $19.00, described as a bronze golden nail polish with gold shimmer which gives the appearence of olive green bronze in some lights.  This color is semi-sheer, but you certainly can get good coverage with two coats, three coats you are golden!

Dior's nail polish formula's are excellent.  Long lasting, and no chipping and I honestly have to say it's much better than Chanel.  I think this color will appeal more to the warmer tones. My theory,  anyone can rock it!

Images Comparisons of OPI Charmed by a snake and Diors Golden NuggetPictured to the right is a comparison of OPI Charmed by a Snake and Dior's Golden Nugget.  As you can see, there's a noticeable difference between the two colors.  OPI Charmed by s Snake is lighter sand bronze color and Dior's Gold Nugget is a Dark Bronze/Gold color, which gold shimmer creates more of a olive green bronze look.

MAC Dress Camp: Review, Photos, Swatches

Photo of MAC Cosmetics Dress Camp Collection

MAC released The Dress camp collection early and very unexpectantly, and while this collection was literally selling out under my nose, I was out enjoying the gorgeous weather here in KY.  If it wasn't for Temptalia's google alert, I would of missed out on this completely!  So, a huge shout out to you girl!  The only thing I missed out on was too fab lipstick, which was a total bummer, because it's a really fab color.  Check out the photo swatches below.

Image of MAC Cosmetics Dress Camp Lipglass Color Swatches

Dress Camp Lipglass.  She Gold, described as a sheer yellow-gold with gold shimmer.  This color is very pretty, and the best out of the collection.  I prefer She Gold worn alone, it brings out the natural color in your lips and makes them shine like She Gold.  Fashion, described as a bright-midtone pink with white pearl frost.  The color isn't as bright as the described.  The white pearl frost tones it down quite a bit which makes it a lighter pink.  Check out the Dress Camp Palette swatches below.

Image of MAC Dress Camp Palette Swatches

Dress Camp Face X4 Palette.  One thing I love about MAC's limited edition face palette's is their so convenient, espically for over night stays or touch-ups.  DressCamp Pink Powder (a blue mid-tone pink with white pearlized pigments).  The Dress Camp pink powder is a light pink with shimmer and it's my favorite color out of the palette.  It can be used as a beauty powder blush or an eye shadow.  Sunny Girl (a pretty yellow gold), Golden Gold (a deep golden bronze), Trend (a light Neutral tan with gold pearlized pigments, perfect for highlighting).

Image of MAC Cosmetics Dress Camp Collection

Overall, I really loved MAC's Dress Camp collection.  And, not just for the hot packaging, ok maybe a little!  Bright Pinks, gold's, bronze, all colors that are right up my alley.  My favorites out of the collection, She Gold lipglass and Dress Camp Pink beauty powder.

    Naughty Nauticals: Review, Swatches, Photos

    MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals

Check out all the Naughty Nauticals collection swatches.  I will be writing up the review shortly, along with more photos!

MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals Lipstick Swatches

    • Party Mate - A semi-sheer mid-tone pink lustre color that has light buildable coverage.  This has more color pay-off than Ahoy, There and is a tad bit darker.
    • Ahoy, There! - A sheer dirty pink color with multi-dimensionel pearl that makes this a glaze.  This is the lightest color of the bunch.
    • Port Red - A must have for red lipstick lovers!  A gorgeous ruby red with gold pearl which makes this a frost.  This is my favorite out of the bunch, and is very pretty.
    • Buoy-O-Buoy - A creamy neutral beige color with pink undertones, that has buildable color.

MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals Lipstick Swatches

The only color that really stood out to me was the gorgeous, Port Red.  The other colors have more of a " neutral-pink" pay-off, which I'm so over pink right now.  My makeup collection is heavily out numbered by pinks.

    MAC Cosmetics Lustreglass Swatches

    • Ensign - A peachy pink with white and gold pearl.  This color appears more peachy than pink.  And, is a great all around color.
    • Hey Sailor - A mauvey plum pink with white pearl.  Hey Sailor has the best color pay-off out of all the lustreglasses.
    • Love Knot - A sheer pink with blue and white duochrome.  Love Knot is the sheerest of all the colors.
    • Bateaux - A neutral brown peach with white frost.  Bateaux is my favorite color of the bunch.  It's a nice neutral color with a hint of peach.

MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals Lustreglass Swatches

The two colors I purchased were Hey Sailor and Bateaux.  Hey Sailor has good color pay-off and looks fab combined with Port Red lipstick.  Ensign is also a pretty color, but, Bateaux had more of a peach color pay-off which I opted for Bateaux.  Love Knot was very sheer on me but, I absoultey loved the blue and white duochrome, just wished it had better color pay-off.

MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals Pigment Swatches

    • Lark About - A sheer white frost pigment with blue undertones.
    • Bell Bottom Blue - A navy blue color with white pearl.  The white pearl gave this color more of a blue color with purple undertones.
    • Lovely Lily - A soft lilac color with pink undertones.  The pink undertones gave this more of a softer color.
    • Mutiny - A clean sky blue with gold pearl.  The gold pearl makes Mutiny not as bold, and less color pay-off.  This is my favorite out of the pigments.

MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals Pigment Swatches

Mutiny was the only pigment I purchased from the Naughty Nauticals collection.  I think this is a great color in general that everyone can wear.  It's not to bold or daring, it's a nice soft aqua color.

MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals Eyeshadow Swatches

    • Shore Leave - A pale frosty ivory color with pink undertones, that has quite a bit of shimmer to it.  I really liked this color, it looks fab as a highlighter paired up with Illegal Cargo.
    • Pandanonium - A frosty gunmetal color with white pearl.
    • Illegal Cargo - A frost grey plum color that has more mavey-plum color pay-off.
    • Meet the Fleet - Midnight blue matte color.  I really did not like this color nor texture at all.  It was very blotchy when playing with the colors, and I was not impressed at all.
    • Submarine - A beautiful mid tone blue color with frost that almost looks like a darker teal color.

MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals Eyeshadow Swatches

I wasn't nearly as impressed with the eye shadows.  I felt Meet the Fleet and Pandanonium were very dull and boring to me.  The texture was very blocthy and hard to work with when I was swatching.  I purchased Shore Leave, Illegal Cargo and Submarine.  My favorite out of the eye shadows is Illegal Cargo.

Pigments vs Eye shadows.  I had a hard time deciding between the pigments and eye shadow colors, because they are somewhat similar.  But, I decided to go with the eye shadows because of the better color pay-off.  Illegal Cargo is much prettier and bolder purple than Lovely Lily.  And, Shore Leave is a pretty ivory white frost comparted to Lark About, which is more of a sheer white-blue pigment.

A Colorful Storybook to a Happy Ending

Sephora Colorful Story Limited Edition Palette

    Product: Sephora Colorful Story Palette
    Price: $35.00   (an $80.00 value)
    Steph's Rating:
    Buy it: Sephora, Limited Edition
    Recommend: Yes

Nobody can tell a colorful story like Sephora!  Sephora introduces a limited edition palette feauting 16 of their best selling eye shadow colors.

This is such an fantastic deal!  I originally only purchased this because I needed an item for free shipping!  Sephora always gets ya with that free shipping!  I was automatically drawn to this colorful storybook palette.  But, hesitated for a minute because I've never tried Sephora's eyeshadows.  I knew it couldn't be too bad because they are my #1 beauty authority.  Plus, this would be a perfect Mother's Day gift also.

Overall, this limited edition palette has some great colors choices.  And, is the perfect palette to travel or take on-the-go.  What's great about this palette is the colors are all seasons appropriate which makes this a fab deal!  The only drawback I had is the quality (hey, I'm a MAC girl, I have high expectations).  It is fairly good quality, that is why I rated this 4 kisses but, not the best.  I found that the shadows worked best with a good base such as Urban Decay or my personal fav MAC Paint Pots.

Check out the palette colors below.

Sephora's A Colorful Story Palette Colors

The colors featured in this palette include: Strass 7 (charcoral black with silver glitter), 9 (taupe shimmer with gold glitter), 3 (gold shimmer with gold glitter), 2 (silver shimmer with silver glitter); Pearl 8 (champagne beige pearl), 1 (white pearl), 9 (coral pearl), 7 (soft bronze pearl); Chrome 4 (vibrant iridescent teal-turquoise sheen), 3 (brown-green iridescent sheen), 6 (pale opalescent sheen), 2 (rich plum sheen); Mat 6 (matte white), 3 (matte chocolate brown), 7 (matte deep burgundy), 1 (matte charcoal black).

Check out the photo swatches below.  The photo swatches are in the same order as displayed in the picture above.

Wowza!!!  Chrome No. 4 is my absolute favorite out of the palette....

Drugstore Haul: Milani, Max Factor, Lashblast

Drug Store Haul:Lash Out, Milani, Max Factor

I try to stay far-away from drugstores because they can really do some major damage!  But, it was time for a visit, because there are many things I've been wanting to test and review.  So, I will be doing seperate blog entries on each product to elaborate a little more.

    1.  Covergirl Lashblast - The buzz has been going around the on beauty radar about this wonder mascara.  So, it's on the top of my list to review.

    2.  Nicole by OPI - I'm sure you've been seeing alot of this brand lately.  So, I've been a little curious about the formula, and staying power.  But, I'm sure it will be quality espically, if it's backed by OPI.  Plus, their free off the big 3, which is a huge plus.  I picked up the color: Nicole's Fav, a tangerine orange shimmer that is perfect for summer.  I will be posting swatches soon.

    3.  Milani - Fashion Runway Eyes and color brillant eye pencils.  My Milani purchase was the hightlight of my haul.  The Fashion runways shadows come in 6 different color combinations.  I went to 4 different drugstores looking for the yellow and green combination but, everywhere was completely sold-out!  Milani also carries a Blue/Teal color combination, sold-out, just my luck!  And, I just happend to get lucky with the eyeliners, and picked up three (kelly green, teal, and violet purple).

    4.  MAX Factor Vivid Impact Eyeshadow Duo -  The green and blue wand recently was seen in the Carmen Electra ad for MAX Factor.   The emerald green and blue wand was so hard to find.  The green is a fab color.  And, I was quite impressed how long the shadow stayed on without any base.

    5. Neutrogena Sunscreen - Don't forget that sunscreen!  My favorite brand is Neutrogena Ultra sheer.  It's so light, gentle, and blocks UVA/UVB rays!

I will be reviewing each product seperately.  Stay tuned for the review and swatches.

MAC Solar Field: Review, Swatches, Product Images

    MAC Cosmetics Solar Field Display

Overall, the Solar Field Collection was very, hmm.... interesting!  Solar bits, was a little (alot) tricky to start off with.  The good ole saying "practice makes perfect" certainly applies to MAC's solar bits.  As I was swatching these little bits, I was overtaken by the beauty of the pigmentation and shimmer.  But, good looks are always deceiving as they say.  I had the pigments all over the place (shirt, face, hands, floor, everywhere) at my MAC store.  Just swatching these four colors took time.  The bits are fully pigmented and very chunky in a ball like form.  But, delivers quite the knock-out when the application is perfected.  I haven't had a chance to mess with them personally, but, I highly recommend using mixing medium or they'll be everywhere.

MAC Cosmetics Solar Field Powder Photo Swatches

     Bronzing Powder

    • Refined Golden - is a light golden peach color.  This color was fairly sheer, and didn't have "as much" color pay-off.  This shade would be ideal for fair skin complexions.
    • Solar Riche -  a mid-tone deep bronze orange color.  Solar Riche has much more pigmentation compared to Refined Golden.  This color is more ideal for darker skin tones, or can be used as a blush.

MAC Cosmetics Solar Field Powder Photo Swatches

Check out some more pics below....

MAC Cosmetics Solar Field Solar Bits Photo Swatch

    Solar Bits

    • Black Ore - is described as a rich black with gold pearl.  Initially, I was completely pulled in and dramatized by this color.  But, after dealing with the mess, I wanted a color that I could get some good use out of.  So, I passed on it for now, but, just for now.  The gold pigmentation is so rich that gives almost an dark olive green appearance.
    • Sunpower - is a light metallic tan with gold shimmer.
    • Bronzescape - is yellow brown with gold pearl.  It's a rich copper brown that has excellent color pay-off.
    • Scatterrays - decribed as a soft metallic peach with gold pearl.

Bronzescape was the only color I purchased today.  Because, I knew that these highly condensed clusters of pigments wasn't going to be so user-friendly.  I highly recommend purchasing a neutral color that you can multi-task or until you can perfect the application.  Scatterrays and Sunpower were very similar in color due to the gold pigmentation.  Sunpower is more gold and Scatterrays has more of a white color pay-off.

Nail Polish of the Day: Dior Golden Nugget

Nail Polish of the Day: Dior Golden Nugget

These last two days has just been horrendous in the KY and OH region.  Tornados, thunderstorms, and flooding, oh my!  Hopefully, everyone else is staying dry and cool today.  Two straight days of constant stroms has me feeling quite blah.  I felt the need to spice it up a little with Diors gorgeous, Golden Nugget nail polish.

I know many of you have asked me about my nail polish swatches.  And, I apologize for my lack of posts but, my nails have been going through a little rehab.  Sometimes it's best to chop 'em all off and start fresh.  Rescue my nails book gave me some great tips on how to get my nails in top-notch shape.  Great book, ya'll should check it out!

Today was the first chance I had to wear Dior Golden Nugget polish.  And, it's a gorgeous bronze metallic nail polish with gold shimmer.  Throughtout the day I kept glancing down at my nails admiring this gorgeous summer color as the light brings out the nautral gold shimmer.  I really think this color is going to appeal to ladies of color and warmer skin tones.  It's more of a deeper bronze color but, the gold shimmer shines like the sun.  This color looks great paired up with Dior's new Eyeshadow quint in Golds 569 ($54).  A new release in their summer collection 2008.  Check out the photo swatches below.

Christian Dior 5 Color Eyeshadow in Golds 569

Summer beauty trends are pretty much a given.  From year to year it usually never changes admiring the traditional sun goddess.  Color shades of: Bronze, Golds, and Coppers.  All colors that are right up my alley, that I never get tired of.  Dior 5 colour iridescent eyeshadow quint in golds includes shades of: dark copper, light gold, champagne, golden olive (green-gold) and gold.  This is one of my favorite quints that I purchased this season.  Dior's quints have great color pay-off and staying power.

I have a ton of nail polish swatches that I'll be posting in the next couple weeks.  Being in nail rehab has my swatches backed up big time.  Some of the collections include: Essie's Summer, OPI Mod about brights, Zoya and some others.  Stay tuned.

    Have a great day peeps!

MAC Cosmetics: Neo Sci Fi Nail Polish Swatches

MAC Neo Sci Fi Nail Polish

MAC introduced four new nail polish colors with the release of Neo Sci Fi collection. Phosphur, Plasma Blu, Neon 8 and Metalist.  Pictured above (from Left to Right): Phosphur, Plasma Blu and Neon 8.  I decided against Metalist because it's a neutral sand colored shade.  I felt it was blah and kinda boring because I'm all about the color baby. However, Metalist would be a nice color if you tend to stay on the safe side.  The color reminded me of Chanel's Antilope and Dior's new one.

The new colors are all frosts.  And, MAC makes the best frost textures around (the MA's will also agree). My favorites are Plasma Blu (hello blue, no-brainer for me), Neon 8 and Phosphur.  These colors are definitely bold and daring and are right on track for trendy colors this summer.  Check out some photo swatches below.

MAC Plasma Blu Nail Polish Photo Swatch

Plasma Blu is described as a bright turquoise blue shade with turq. blue shimmer.  This color has a tendency to look tealish-blue in certain lighting.  Some more pictures below.

    MAC Cosmetics Plasma Blue Swatch

Plasma blu is pretty unique. The only thing I have close to this color would be an teal green polish.  I will post comparisons later next week.

MAC Phosphur Nail Polish Photo Swatch

Phosphor is described as a bumble bee yellow with golden frost.  My husband liked this color over Plasma Blu? Can you beleive that?!  But, I'm just not sure I'm so coo-coo over it yet.  This is a very mysterious color and unlike anything I own.  In some lights it tends to look like a golden mustard color.  Phosphor may take some time to win my heart over.  But, I'm sure it won't take that much time.

    MAC Phosphor Nail Polish Swatches

Phosphor is a FAB pedicure color.  Coordinate this with your beach apparel = instant eye candy!

MAC Cosmetics Neon 8 Nail Polish Swatch

I had a chance to sport around Neon 8 all this weekend.  And, I just love it!  Described as a coral-strawberry color, that is just fabulous.   It  is an universal color that anyone can wear.  This is truely a must have and is my favorite color out of the bunch.  Check out the candid shot below.

MAC Cosmetics Neon 8 Nail Polish Swatch

The consistency of the polishes are pretty much the same.  Two coats with thicker applications and three coats for lighter applications.  All my swatches are done with three light coats.  Originally, when I swatched the colors at the MAC store, plasma blu and phosphor stained my nails.  So, make sure you use a base coat on your nails.  I always recommend using a base coat on all nail polish applications.  I had no problems with staining using a base coat.

Have a great weekend ya'll!  Keep cool and safe!

CVS Drugstore Haul: Sally Hansen, Cover Girl

Sally Hansen Syummer Nail Polish Colors

Boy, is it hot here in the Southeastern region.  At 8 am it's already 90 degrees!  A simple visit to my local CVS pharmacy to pick up some shaving creme turned into a full-force makeup haul.  Those damn drugstores always get ya!  The display for Sally Hansens Lacquer Shine was rather empty.  These lovely summer shades were flying off the shelves by the minute.  The four colors I picked up: Flair, Flash, Spark and Glow.  Some other color shades that were sold out: coral, pink, and red.  Check out the photo swatches below.

Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine Photo Swatches

Glow is described as an granny smith apple green shade with yellow-green shimmer.  Flair is an violet purple shade with navy blue shimmer.  Flair was my favorite color out of the four I picked up.  Flash is described as a turquoise blue color with turquoise blue shimmer.  Flash is very comparable to MAC's Plasma Blu.  The only difference I noticed is MAC's has more of a frosty texture.  Last but not least, Spark.  A navy blue with purple and pink shimmer.  This is the first color that even comes close to OPI Russian Navy.  Spark is almost an 100% duplicate.  The only true difference is OPI Russian Navy has more shimmer to it.  But, other than that, it's a great alternative.

This is the first time I've tried Sally Hansen's Lacquer Shine formula.  Although, I can't review the staying power until I actually wear the polish a few times.  The application was very smooth and easy to apply with vibrant color pay-off and dimmensional shine.  I used two coats on my photo swatches. I don't think there would be a need for three coats because the color pay-off is divine.

I wanted to get some swatches up real fast for ya'll to see.  Later this week I will be posting swatches individually along with photo comparisions.

    Cover Girl Summer Eyeshadow Colors

I've been debating these two eyeshadow colors for awhile now.  And, I finally picked them up today.   Check out the photo swatches below.

Covergirl Kaboom Kelly and Gold Sizzle Photo Swatches

Covergirl Kaboom Kelly - described as a kelly green shade with fairly good color pay-off.  Covergirl Gold Sizzle - is a gold shimmer with not-so-good pigmentation.  I had to literally scrub with my finger to get good pigmentation.  And, last but not least, Milani Color Brillance eyeliner pencils.  Hands down, Milani has the BEST pencils out there with outstanding color pay-off.

    MAC Tendertones: Review, Photo Swatches

    MAC Cosmetics Tendertones Photo Swatches

I've had MAC's Tendertones swatches for quite sometime now.  I apologize for my laziness.  But these lovely lippies are extremely sheer which, makes them difficult to judge the actual color pay-off.   I used a small amount on all my photos swatches because the color wouldn't be accurate swatching a huge chunk.

Bottom line on MAC's tendertones, they are extremely sheer.  If you don't fancy sheer lip balm (like myself), don't waste your money.  Even the "darker colors" appear sheer.  After swatching tendertones, I was still undecided.  But, since I missed out last year, I decided to pick up Pucker.

    MAC Cosmetics Tendertones Photo Swatches

Tendertones are perfect for the beach, pool or anyplace you don't need heavy lip coverage and still packs in 12 SPF.  Pucker, Hot N Saucy, Deep Sigh and Sweet & Nice were the shades that had good color pay-off (still sheer though).  The slight watermelon pink color and the yummy strawberry kiwi scent in Pucker is what attracted me to this color.  It's a nice hint of pink.  I also liked Tread Gently - a yellowish with gold shimmer that would look great after a day at the beach. Check out the photo swatches below.

Nail Polish of the Day: Nicole Blue Lace

Nicole by OPI Blue Lace Nail Polish

Nicole by OPI's Blue Lace - an aqua blue shimmer with yellow-green undertones makes this color oh-so fabulous.  A perfect color to go with MAC's gorgeous Cool Heat eyeshadows.  Now, I know ya'll may be thinking, MAC's Plasma Blu.  But, nope.  There are some noticable differences between the two.  What you can't see in the pictures is the yellowish undertones that gives this color green appeal!  And, I love green envy!  Plasma Blu has clearly no greenish or yellow undertones and is much more frosty.

Blue Lace is most defintely an cameleon kind of color.  She's had a chance to show off at the MAC store and at Applebee's for dinner with my Seafoam Green tube top.  I had to actually hold my nails against my top just to make sure it was still blue.  I loved how the seafoam green top reflected off my nails and gave blue lace a huge boast of green.

This was my first bottle of the "Nicole by OPI" brand.  Being an polish by OPI, I had no doubts.  The application applied smoothly and only two coats were needed.  Nail polish makes me so happy when only two coats are needed.  I absolutely dread applying more than two coats of polish because I can't sit still.  My morning was so busy, I didn't have a chance to apply a topcoat.  And, I'm happy to report - no chipping yet!

    MAC Cosmetics Cool Heat Eyeshadows

Blue Lace matches perfectly with the blue-green eyeshadows from the Cool Heat collection.  If MAC featured a Nail Lacquer in this collection, Blue Lace would be her!

Nail Polish of the Day: MAC Whirlwind

Nail Polish of the day MAC Whirlwind Nail Polish Swatch

I know your probably thinking -  Summertime's here and I'm still wearing dark nail polish!  Well, I have sort of a fetish for darker colors.  And, I have an even bigger fetish for MAC's whirlwind nail polish.  This has to be one of my all-time favorite nail polishes in general and from MAC.  Described as an gorgeous forest green with aqua blue shimmer that was introduced in MAC's storm signals collection.  Whirlwind is truely one of the most unique colors I own.

Two heavy coats were used in my photo swatches or you could get by with three light coats.  Good color pay-off, no chipping and the staying power was definitely there.  This is most certainly a must have color if you love blue and green nail polish shades.  However, it is an limited edition color but, I'm sure you can still find it on ebay.  Candid shot below.

MAC Cosmetics Whirlwind Nail Polish Swatch

Dark nail polish colors never go out of style, even in the summer.  But, I know it's time I jump on that summertime color wagon.  So, you'll be seeing some pretty electrifying colors to come!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Kat Von D Makeup: Photo Swatches

Kat Von D Makeup Photo Swatches

A couple months ago, I blogged about Kat Von D's new makeup brand.  I was finally able to check it out at Sephora.  Overall, I was pleasantly suprised with the eyeshadow palettes.  The color pay-off was pretty good as well as the lasting power.  And, at $34.00 per palette for 8 eyeshadow colors, is a fantastic deal.  Just averaging about $4.25 a color.  Check out the photo swatches below.

True Romance Palette in Beethoven ($34).  The Beethoven palette contains: Lucifer (matte charcoal black), Speed Blue (dark metalic blue), Razor Gray (warm gun steel shimmer), Tequila (metallic cornsilk shimmer), Galeano (metallic medium plum shimmer), Sinner (metallic purple black shimmer), Rad Purple (matte purple black with purple glitter), Leather (matte dark brown) with two doubled-ended applicator brushes.

Kat Von D Eyeshadow Photo Swatches

Speed Blue was my fave out of the Beethoven palette.  It's a cross between MAC's freshwater and blue flame.

Kat Von D Eyeshadow Photo Swatches

True Romance Palette in Ludwig ($34).  The Ludwig palette contains: Lucifer (matte charcoal black), Orbi (golden green shimmer), Dimebag (metallic lime green), Clay (beige with gold glitter), Tequila (metallic cornsilk shimmer), Downtown (metallic light copper shimmer), Baroque (golden bronze shimmer), Leather (deep chocolate brown sheen), and two double-ended applicator brushes.

Ludwig is my favorite out of the two.  It's a great color combination, espically for the neutral loving gals out there.  My faves are both the greens (no brainer).

Milani Color Brilliance Pencils: Swatches, Review

Milani Color Brilliance Eye Pencils in Green, Purple, Aqua

An outstanding eye liner pencil that delivers superb color in one easy application. It has been developed with moisturizing ingredients for silky-smooth texture and with special polymers for long lasting power. Add depth and definition to your eyes with this rich pencil. Available in 4 intensifying shades at Walgreens for $3.99 each (that's chump change).

Milani's new color brilliance pencils are the shit, to put it mildly.  They have an ridiculous amount of color, lasting power (really, the whole day), and no smudging.  And, they are right up there with Urban Decay 24/7 (another favorite of mine).  Applying these dreamy shades were so easy - no need for warming the tips again.

Milani Color Brilliance Eye Liner Photo Swatches

01 Black - (not pictured) a bold rich black color, 04 Purple - described as a magenta purple shade with violet shimmer, 02 Aqua - is a aqua blue with aqua shimmer, and 03 Green - a gorgeous kelly green with gold shimmer.  I literally could go on-and-on about this gorgeous green shade - but, I won't bore you.  I have this huge fixation for green shades.  03 Green is a must have eyeliner for green lovers.  Heck, for $3.99, you can't even get an gallon of gas for that!

    Lippmann Summer Collection: Review, Swatches

Lippmann Collection Summer Nail Polish Colors

    Product: Lippmann Nail Polish
Colors: Shut up and Drive,  Lady Marmalade
    Buy it: Lippmann, Nordies
    Price: $15.00
Recommend: Yes, if you like shimmers

The lippmann collection introduces two gorgeous shimmery shades for summer.  I wanted to start off my nail polish swatches with a little glitz and glam delivered right to your nails.  Which, is exaclty what these two shades delivers.

Lady Marmalade, a sizzling coral strawberry shade named after the classic disco song and Shut up and Drive, is a drop-dead gorgeous magenta with Tons of silver shimmer named after Rihanna's top 40 hit.  We all know how much our girl , Rihanna love those magenta based shades!  And, Deborah Lippmann did an excellent job creating this color to fit Rihannas style.

I'm not going to spend much time on this review because the photo's pretty much explain everything.  However, these polishes are semi-sheer, glossy and take serveral coats to accomplish a good color pay-off.  Shut up and Drive required three heavy applications and Lady Marmalade four.  Personally, I dread applying more than two coats of polish because I'm not patient enough to sit still.  But, after seeing the end result - it's worth the wait.  Keep in mind my nail tips are extremely white (almost french manicure white).  It does take a little more than average to completely cover my nail and the heavy coating may have contributed to that factor.  Check out the all photo swatches below.

Lippmann Collection Lady Marmalade Nail Polish Swtach

Lady Marmalade is much more sheer and has the least amount of shimmer compared to Shut up and Drive.  Four heavy applications were used in the swatch above.  And, to be honest, I could probably use an additional coat.  Lady Marmalade is a great shade, espically if you don't fancy too much shimmer or glitter.

Lippmann Collection Shut up and Drive Nail Polish Swatch

Hello...., gorgeous!  Aren't you going to look so fab on my hand and toes! I am completely speechless and hyptonized by this gorgeous magenta shade!  Shut up and drive is absolutley beautiful and the photos don't justify the true color pay-off.  Now, when I say this color has lots of shimmer - I'm talking about TONS.  The silver glitter is so overpowering it takes over the nail polish and you'll start to notice an metallic sheen.

Lippmann Collection Shut up and Drive Nail Polish Swatch

The metallic sheen is really hard to capture digitally.  But, you can start to see some metallic in the photo above.

Lippmann Collection Photo Swatches of Lady Marmalad and Shut up and Drive

Shut up and Drive and Lady Marmalade are great shades for summer.  Super glittery, fun, and perfect for those nights out with the girls or just some good ole fun.

Are you guys feeling these colors?

Givenchy Fall Makeup 2008: Sweet Dandy Collection

Givenchy Fall Autumn Winter Makeup Collection

The Autumn and Winter 2008 makeup collections promo pictures are starting to surface.  Most fall collections are slated for the end of July to mid August.  Random fact: my beauty wardrobe completely lacks any givenchy makeup.  I'm looking to change that soon - starting off by the gorgeous, Le Vernis nail polish and smokey eyeshadow quad.  Check out the color story and promo pictures below.

  • Pocket Beauty Case Accessory for Glowing Lips and Cheeks $55.00 (Sweet Dandy)
  • Prisme Again! Shimmer Eyes Mat & Shimmering Eyeshadow Quartet $49.50 in Smoky Shimmer and 44 Precious Shimmer
  • Prisme Libre Loose Powder Quartet Air Sensation $63.00 in Dandy Beige
  • Captiv’Eyes Intense Volume Mascara Magnetic Eyes $25.00 in Dandy Black
  • Magic Khôl Eye Liner Pencil $21.50 in Dandy Blue
  • Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick Irresistible Color $26.50 in Romantic Dandy and Fatal Dandy
  • Pop Gloss Crystal Crystal Lip Gloss $23.50 in Romantic Dandy and Fatal Dandy
  • Givenchy Fall 2008 Makeup Collection

Polka dots dress up! These two customized harmonies are reminiscent of a dandy’s basic deconstructed three-piece suit. A matte texture and three complementary glowing shades offer two ways of creating sophisticated, smoky eyes.  Smoky Shimmer: three dense, shiny black shades softened by a matte white base for grey tones coloured with blue, white and purple pearlescent particles.

Givenchy Fall 2008 Makeup Collection Autumn Winter

Rouge Interdit lets you show off two sides of your charm with two different languages to express your femininity: Romantic Dandy pinkish beige for a naturally flushed look, and pure, intense Fatal Dandy red, the most dangerous lipstick around! Matching Pop Gloss Crystal in pinkish beige or intense red can be used alone for glossy, transparent colour or as a top coat to accentuate shine.

    Le Vernis. Limited Edition
The nails look as if they have been dipped in a starry night. Male codes meet female codes in luminous Dandy Moiré navy-blue varnish.

This beautiful green-blue shimmer nail polish is what orginially pulled me into this collection.  Looking at the promo picture, it looks very familiar to one of my all time polishes, MAC whirlwind.  Needless to say, I haven't found an worthwhile comparison to MAC's color.  So, I'm pretty excited to see this color in real life.

Covergirl Tropical Fusion Quad: Review, Swatches

Covergirls New Tropical Fusion Quad Summer Colors

Covergirl may be a little late jumping on the bright makeup bandwagon, but, at least it's a start.  A few days ago, I blogged about Covergirls new promo ad for their summer makeup collection.  As predicted, I caved and purchased this tropical colored quad ($5.99) at CVS yesterday.

I debated purchasing this quad the entire time I was in CVS.  Mostly due to my recent purchase of covergirls eye enchancers in Gold Sizzle.  Being the very last on the entire display I wasn't going to pass this up.  Yeah, I'm weak at the knees when it comes to vibrant colors and makeup.

Overall, I was impressed more so with the tropical quad compared to the individual shades.  The teal and blue shimmery shades had fairly good color pay-off and was quite pretty.  I had high hopes for the orange shade because I really wanted it to work.  But, the pigmentation just wasn't there at all.  It was hardly noticeable on my NC30 skin.  You could substitue MAC's Fab & Flashy or another orange you prefer.  The yellowish/lime shade was a different nature than the other colors.  It was between a matte and satin texture that I really didn't care for and had ok color pay-off.

Covergirl Tropical Fusion Eyeshadow Quad Photo Swatch

The teal and blue shades are the highlight of the tropical fusion quad.  Very pretty and shimmery with good color pay-off all around.  See some more swatches below.

    Covergirl Tropical Fusion Photo Swatches

This is an big improvement from the standard neutral colored shades covergirl offers.  If they focus a little more on the pigmentation issues then we have a keeper.

UPDATE 6/26/08: After using this quad serveral times, I'm happy to report the teal and blue shades have fantastic color pay-off and those two colors alone are worth the purchase.

Nail Polish of the Day: Nicole Virtuous Violet

Nicole by OPI Virtuous Violet Nail Polish Photo Swatch

Happy Friday, ya'll!  The weekends about here and I wanted to spice it up with something fun for tonight.  Nicole by OPI in Virtuous Violet has been sitting on my shelf screaming to be used for quite sometime now.  And, what on earth was I waiting for?!  I usually buy polishes on a whim and just forget about them, until one day.   Virtuous violet turned out to be so much prettier than I ever excepted.  You can never judge a nail polish color by it's bottle - that's what I love.  The shades are always unpredictable.

The texture and shimmer reminds me of OPI's Russian Navy and Ink.  Vitruous violet can easily be the cousin of those two colors.  Think ink and russian navy but with an periwinkle purple base color.  Looking at the bottle you don't see the periwinkle color because it applies rather sheer.  But, the blue and pink shimmer makes it a deeper purple.  I used three coats in my photo swatches.

Nicole by OPI in Virtuous Violet Nail Polish Swatch

What is Nicole by OPI?  Don't let the Nicole name fool you because the quality is just as good as professional OPI.  This brand is marketed for the average consumer verses the salon quality. ;You'll notice that Nicole is sold in most your local walmart, target, and many others.  I didn't put on a top coat until this morning and it was in perfect shape.  It may have been sheer but the quality was just as good.  Check out some comparisons below.

Ya'll have to check out the Nicole by OPI brand, seriously!  The unique nail polish colors are just as fabulous as OPI.  Today's polish is named Nicole's Fav and I can see exactly why it's her fav!  The color is described as an gorgeous vibrant orange with gold shimmer.  A perfect color for summer and to go perfectly with all the summer collections out there.

Everything was perfect about this color - the pay-off is amazing and only two coats of color needed.  Check out some close up pictures below.

MAC Colour Forms - Warm Eyes ($38.00): A set of five limited edition shadow combinations perfect for those green eyed gals.  It might be the eye-catching green casing or the beautiful color combination of purples and greens that draw me into this palette.  Having green eyes ain't no day in the park.  Bottom line: their difficult and we just can't pick any color.  Purple is a shade that won't do us wrong ladies and gents!

MAC Colour Forms - Warm Lips ($22.50): A set of three limited edition lipstick shades.  This lovely Warm Lip Palette was featured in Allure's July issue as one of the Editior's pick.

Fall is creeping up faster than you think and so is all the upcoming collections.  It's all about dark goth colors and I'm loving it.  I can't wait to drench my nails and lips with dark vampy colors such as Dior's Rouge in Fantastic Plum and Nail Vernis in Liquorice.

    Product Review: Loreal Infallible Gloss

Product Review Loreal Infallible Lip Gloss
    Product: L'oreal Infallible Lipgloss
    Price: $8.99
    Steph's Rating:
    Buy it: Drugstores
    Recommend: Yes

L'oreal introduces the first long wearing lipgloss in one step.  The claim:  No touch-ups. No top-coats. No fading. No feathering. Hydrating formula keeps your lips soft, smooth, shiny, and sexy for 6 long hours.  The patent applicator contours lips prescisely smooth, even, flawless application every time.  Infallible is available in 16 luminous shades.

Six hours is a pretty hefty claim for lipgloss.  So,  let's get down to the nitty gritty.  Bottom line - I haven't personally seen a lipgloss to last more than three hours and my collection is rather large consisting of at least 75 different brands.  Last night at Walmart I jumped at the chance to try this.

Rebel Red, a vibrant red with subtle shimmer, is the color that was calling out to me.  Usually, I tend to lean towards darker shades because the pay-off is so much greater.  This baby was on my lips within a matter a minutes after leaving Walmart.

Loreal Infallible Lip Gloss in Rebel Red

Pro's: Moisturizing, Shine, No Feathering, and the lasting power wasn't quite 6 hours - more like 3-4 hours, which is impressive.  However, I do warn with caution when applying more than once because it tends to get tacky if applied regularly.  The pointed shape applicator is really cool.  I was able to get in cracks and crevices with ease.

Con's: The staying power didn't live up to L'oreals 6 hour claim and the mirror was a nice try.  Loreal was kind enough to include a mirror, which is a great and all but, why oh why at the end of the cap?

    Check out the swatch below.

Loreal Infallible Gloss in Rebel Red Photo Swatch

Overall, Infallible lived up to my expectations and anyone who fancy's gloss will really love this product.

    Yellow Nail Polish Comparisons

Yellow Nail Polish Swatch Comparisons - Yellow Fever, Phosphor, Solar Power

The summer is heating up and what better way to start off with some bright sunshiney colors.  Here's just a few yellow nail polish comparisons.  Although, yellow may not suit everyone, it's an fun color to sport around this season.

China Glaze, Solar Power ($3.99) - is a taxi cab color with gold shimmer.  This color is a great alternative to Rescue Beauty Lounge's, Yellow fever.  Espically, those looking for a friendlier budget.

Rescue Beauty Lounge, Yellow Fever ($18) - is a vibrant yellow shade with subtle shimmer.  Everything is perfect about this yellow.  The amount of shimmer is hardly recognizable giving the appeal of a cream texture.  But yet, satisfying our deeper shimmer needs.  Yellow Fever - is a brighter, virbant yellow compared to Solar Power - more of a toned down yellow with noticeable golden shimmer.

MAC, Phosphor ($10) - is a golden yellow frost which, was introduced in the Neo, Sci, Fi collection.  It's very unique and much different from Yellow Fever and Solar Power - leaning more towards a pretty golden color.

Check out the photo swatches below.

Yellow Nail Polish Comparisons Photo Swatch

Solar Power may not be as bright and vibrant as Yellow Fever but, is a great alternative for $3.99.

Nail Polish of the Day: NYX Jungle

NYX Cosmetics Jungle Nail Polish Swatch

Happy Monday!  Hope ya'll had a great weekend.  It's been mostly cloudy and fairly chilly in the eastern region.  Can you believe this crazy weather?!  Anyway, today's nail polish is NYX in Jungle - an aqua blue color base with green and gold shimmer.  This is my second nail polish purchase from NYX and I'm overly impressed.  The color applied like a charm with three light coats and the drying time was perfect  - not fast drying, yet not slow.  Add additional coats and you'll see the green and gold shimmer shine through.  In the sunlight, you'll notice the gold shimmer gives the color more of an yellow undertone.

Another great color is the new version of Las Vegas which, was one of my first purchases from NYX.  This gorgeous forest green with shimmer is a must have color espically, if you love Nar's Zulu or deep green shades.

NYX Cosmetics Jungle Nail Polish with Two Coats

Two coats is a light aqua blue with green and gold shimmer.

NYX Cosmetics Jungle Nail Polish Three Coats

Three coats is more of an blue with noticeable green shimmer.

NYX Cosmetics Jungle Nail Polish with Four coats

Four coats totally rock this color.  I'll be the first to admit, applying that many layers of nail poliish is such a drag.  But, the color difference from each application is huge.  The color is described as a deep kelly green with gold shimmer that is really pretty and the blue is hardly noticeable.

So, I have alot going on this week.  Today was pretty exciting when I received my shipment of new Chanel nail polishes - Gold Fiction and Kalediscope (drool)!  Both are gorgeous colors, espically Kaledicscope - a pewter metallic with green undertones.  I'll be posting those in a couple of days.  Also this month - Chanel is releasing the Robertson Blvd collection - an highly anticipated collection of pink, orange, yellow and purple nail polishes (whohoo)!  Girls - you don't want to miss out on that collection, the colors are hot!

    Drugstore Haul: Sally Hansen, Loreal

Walgreen Drugstore Haul: Sally Hansen, Cover Girl

This week, Walgreens has buy one get one free on Loreal lip products which, is a perfect time to stock up on colorjuice.  My weekly visit to the drug store turned out to be fall makeup mania.  The fall 2008 makeup displays are in full force.  And, as much as I wanted to start stocking up vampy colors, summer's still here and I'm hooked on bright girly colors.  Here are some of the things I came out with:

Sally Hansen ($5.49) - Lacquer Shine in Lily - a ruby red shimmer and Lotus - a choclate brown shimmer.  I couldn't leave walgreens without getting a couple rich, dark colors.  Dark vampy red and plums are going to be huge colors for fall and Sally Hansen's Lily is right up my alley.

Loreal Colorjuice ($7.49) - This is a classic drug store cult item for me.  I haven't formally did an review on this, but, this is probably one of my most frequent reoccuring beauty purchases.

Loreal Hip ($8.99) - High gloss jelly balm in Succulent.  This is a new product from the hip line that features at least 6 different shades of: coral, pink, plums, red.  I'll be doing an review comparing Loreal's and MAC's tendertone shortly.

Product Review: Loreal Hip Jelly Balm

Loreal Hip Jelly Balm in Succulent
    Product: L'oreal HiP Jelly Balm
    Price: $8.99
    Steph's Rating:
    Buy it: Drugstores
    Recommend: Yes

Loreal introduces these scrumptous jelly balms to the HiP line just in time for summer.  These glossy pots of pucker comes in 6 different colors ranging from pink, coral, and reds.

On my recent haul to Walgreens, HiP's super shiny promo display caught my attention with a range of juicy shades.  Succulent is the color that came home with me which is comparable to MAC's tendertone in Pucker.  I chose one of the darker shades because MAC's tendertones are rather sheer.

Loreal's HiP line is quickly gaining a large crowd of admirer's with their High Intensity Pigments (hence HiP) and overall superb quality.  So, it don't suprise me that these jelly balms wouldn't be as fabulous as their other products.

MAC Tendertones in Pucker Vs Loreal Hip in Succlent

First off, I love these babies and yes, even more than MAC!  The color Succulent has excellent color pay-off compared to MAC's pucker.  I didn't have to scoop a huge chunk just to get decent color.  Good news is - Succlent wasn't the darkest of HiP's Jelly Balms.  There was one shade darker and the pay-off would be awesome.   MAC's jar may have appeared larger than Loreal's but, looks are always deceiving.  I think it's the construction of each jar that throws you off and the amount is pretty much the same.  So, no worries there.

Loreal Hip Jelly Balm Succulent verses MAC Tendertones Pucker

HiP Jelly Balm in Succulent verses MAC Tendertones in Pucker.  One noticeable difference you'll see is the texture.  Tendertones has noticeable shimmer and the Jelly Balm doesn't.  The texture was non-sticky, slightly glossier and a tad thicker than MAC.  In fact, after wearing Loreal's verison for a couple days, I plan on picking up the coral shade soon!  The only true disadvantage is Loreal's doesn't have any SPF coverage.

MAC tendertones in Pucker and Hip in Succulent

The same amount was used on the swatch and you can see the difference in the pay-off.  My only dislike about MAC's tendertones is the sheerness and the amount it takes to get color.  Some of the MAC's lighter colors didn't even show up on my lips.  However, the jelly balms are also available in lighter shades.  So, if you want some color, sway towards the darker shades.

Overall, HiP continues to introduce some fabulous products to the market including their new Metallics.  I can't wait to see what's slated for Fall 2008.  A great way to try out the HiP line is BOGO sales at drug stores.  Keep your eye peeled - Walgreen, CVS and Rite Aid have BOGO sales pretty frequently.

Product Review: Loreal Hip Metallic Shadow Duo

Loreal HiP Metallic Eyeshadow in Gilded
    Product: L'oreal HiP Metallic Shadow
    Price: $6.99
    Steph's Rating:
    Buy it: Drugstores
    Recommend: Yes

Fly into the metallic world of color with Loreal's new Hip metallic eyeshadow duo's with rich, high pearl finish full of intense color.

HiP introduces another great product to their shadow duo line - a metallic with an insane amout of pigmentation and color pay-off.  These new metallic shadows are the whip you guys, for serious.  Gilded is the shade that came home with me today.  A true metallic gold with a brown w/gold shimmer for creases that is featured on the display promo.  A perfect combo to go with richness of Chanel Gold Fiction nail polish this Fall.

I was instantly drawn into the high intensity metallic pigments of the duo shadows.  Their practical, everyday colors you can incorporate into your work and school wardrobe.  Not bright and outrageous like some of the regular non-metallic shades. Five colors combinations are available in: Gun Metal -jade green/olive, Magnetic - navy blue/light blue, Sculpted - mauve/light pink, Gilded - gold/brown and Platinum - black/silver.  Check out the photo swatch below.

Loreal HiP Metallic Eyeshadow Duo in Gilded

Two swipes with my finger delivers intense gold color that blended perfectly with my MAC 239 brush.  A sponge applicator and mirror is included with compact but, you'll get better results with a makeup brush such as MAC's or any flat tipped eye shadow brush.

It's really hard to find a good metallic eyeshadow with staying power and color pay-off.  And, these rock compared to the dreadful, metal-x shadows from MAC.  Everything about metal-x collection was horrible - crease lines everywhere, texture nearly impossible to deal with - to much hassle than it's worth.  I have some swatches of metal-x and mineralized shadows I'll be putting up soon to compare textures.

Loreal Hip Meallic Shadow Duos New

Overall, HiP metallic shadow duos earned four kisses but, may easily earn five after a few more uses.  Other great colors are Platinum and Gunmetal.  I may go back seeing how wonderful these turned out.

Chanel Fall Makeup Collection: Review, Swatches

    Chanel Fall 08 Makeup Collection

The new Chanel Fall makeup collection debuts at most stores this week. Overall, some key players in this collection: Gold Fever highlighter is a beautiful gold highlighter that looks absolutely flawless on any skin type.  Glossimer lovers - Gold Light and Delight are must have lip glosses drenched in glistening shimmer.  My first thoughts on the lilac (Delight) lip gloss "What in the world am I going to do with it"?  Oh my gosh, Everything!  Words and pictures cannot describe the beauty of this sparkling gloss.  It's definitely meant to be a topper and not to be wore alone.  The Glossimer were my fav's besides the Kaleidoscope nail polish.

Kaleidoscope nail polish sold-out online within two days of release on Chanel.com.  But, you can find this limited edition color at most Chanel counters as the Fall collection just debuted.  If your thinking, is it really all that?  Yes, Yes and double yes!  Don't miss out on this very unique shade!

I was pretty disappionted in the eye shadows and quad but, my wallet was oh so happy!  The colors were just blah to me - brown, white, gold, dark teal?   Come on Chanel, you can do better than that.  I was more impressed with HiP's new metallic shadows rather than these.  Also, the shades had poor pigmentation as it took quite a few swipes to get some good color on my NC30/35 skin.

Loreal HiP Metallic Shadow: Gun Metal, Platinum

Loreal Hip Metallic Duos in Gunmetal, Platinum

The other day I blogged about Loreal's new Hip Metallic Shadows Duos.  Well, these shadows are so wonderful that two new shades came home with me yesterday.  Gun Metal - a metallic olive shade with forest/green shimmer and Platinum - a silver metallic shade with a black/silver shimmer.

    Check out the swatches below.

Loreal Hip Metallic Shadow Photo Swatches

Gun Metal is a pretty combintation of olive and forest green color.  The green shimmer in the darker shade is stunning along with gold undertones in the olive.   Platinum is a great combination to accomplish that smokey eye look.  It's also a great combination for a night out or holiday parties.

Check out my eye look with the Gun Metal Quad.

Loreal Hip Metallic Shadow in Gun Metal

I literally put this together in two shakes of a lambs tail with no time or effort wasted.  Outstanding color payoff and pigmentation made the application like cake.  I love that you can mix and match with other Hip metallic colors.  The gold in the Gilded duo topped over Gun Metal looks amazing!

My Makeup Haul: Chanel Fall 08

My Chanel Makeup Hall for the Fall 2008 Collection

Here are goodies that came home with me from my recent visit to the Chanel counter.  Check out all the photos in detail below.

My Chanel Fall 08 Makeup Haul - Gold Fever

Gold Fever is a stunning highlighter drenched in gold and applies very smooth and satin like to the skin.  I'm really picky when it comes to Chanel because it's not cheapest so, it's gotta be an "can't live without it" type product.  The silky fine milled powder felt radiant on my skin and glowed perfectly.  This is an awesome hightlighter for any skintone.

Chanel Delight and Gold Light Glossimer

The massive sparkle and shine had me at hello!  Delight and Gold Light glossimer clearly speaks for themselves.  Aren't they so pretty you guys?  Ahh, just looking at them is glorious.

Chanel Kaleidoscope and Gold Fiction Nail Polish

Kaleidoscope is a hot hot color and is going to be a quick sell-out.  It's already sold out two times at chanel.com.  However, Gold Ficition isn't so unique and I would defintely pass for the hefty price tag of $30.

    Chanel Fall Makeup Papeete Lipstick

After swatching the lipsticks, my eyes were drawn completely to Papeete.  I didn't plan on purchasing any lipstick because my wallent was screaming.  The hot pink sparkling shimmers was dazzling to me and couldn't resist this gorgeous shade.

Chanel released some gorgeous lipsticks in the Fall collection.  Enthusiant, my second favorite, will probably torture me until she is in my hands.

MAC Cosmetics: Cult of Cherry Collection

MAC Cosmetics Cult of Cherry Collection

I've had the color information for months now.  It was one of those releases that just got lost in translation because their are so many upcoming MAC collections!  Check out the color and product information below.

Available at MAC stores August 21st

Eyeshadow Quad: Spiced Chocolate $36.00 USD (LE)

Eyeshadow Quad: Tempting Quad $36.00 USD (LE)

Eyeshadow Quad: Shadowy Lady Quad $36.00 USD (LE)

    Lipsticks: $14.00 USD

    Mattenes: $14.50 USD

    Nail Lacquer: $11.00 USD

    Blush: $17.50 USD

    Mascara: - $12.00 USD

The eyeshadow quads look amazing only if the colors weren't repromotes.  The Tempting quad has three repromotes (are you kidding me) along with a gorgeous new yellow shade that's in between Eyepopping and Going Bananas.  This kinda frustrates me knowing I have one, two and even three shades of each quad.

MAC Cosmetics Sonic Chic: Review, Swatches

    MAC Cosmetics Sonic Chic Collection

MAC introduces the Sonic Chic Collection that includes nine mineralized blushes and a small buffer brush.  The mineralized blush is baked minerals refined into a powder formula to provide exceptionally sheer and lightweight application. Color builds lightly, layer after layer, without heavy coverage. Veils and enhances the cheekbones with a luminous, pearlized shimmer.

Overall, Sonic Chic offers a good variety of nine wearable shades to suite anyone. The blushes offer good pigmentation but, fairly sheer at the same time.  The texture is somewhat similar to the sheertones blushes from Neo, Sci Fi collection but with more shimmer and pay-off.  Nuance, a gorgeous peach with gold shimmer, is the shade that came home with me.  Warm Soul, a beige bronzy version of Nuance, is another color that's been on my lemmings list.  A few universal colors are: Nuance (peach), Warm Soul (beige bronze) and Danity (mauvey pink).

Product Review: Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow

    Urban Decay Deluxe Eye Shadow
    Product: Urban Decay Deluxe Shadows
    Price: $18.00
Steph's Rating: Stephs Rating 5 Kisses
    Buy it: Sephora, Urban Decay
    Recommend: Yes

Turn your eyes into pieces of fine art with these vibrant, silky, and luscious to the touch, deluxe eyeshadows that feature couture-quality and cutting-edge color. Loaded with silky pigments, this sophisticated new formula provides the richest, most brilliant color imaginable. Truly intense and definitely incomparable, for the eyes.

Created with maximum staying power, Deluxe Eyeshadows offer long-lasting wear that won’t fade (especially when paired with our miraculous Eyeshadow Primer Potion). The result? Gorgeous, gem-like lids that are worthy of their own exhibit.

While the cheap artistic product casing may be too much - the true gem is awaiting inside.  A world of ridiculously vibrant, intense COLOR that applies velvety, creme like and blends like melted butter - your lids will be thanking you.  The staying power is amazing leaving no visible creases espically, when paired up with cult-fave, primer potion.

Grafitti, a vibrant kelly green shimmer, is my first addition from the deluxe shadows.  Being a MAC girl, Urban Decay had some big shoes to fill and I'm very happy with the results.  All shades are shimmer based which, thrills me because I dread matte shadows.  Some may find them on the frosty side espically, if your not a fan of shimmers.

You'll heart this if your looking for:

    • Vibrant, bold, rich selection of Color
    • Outstanding staying and lasting power with no creasing
    • Velvety, smooth texture that blends perfectly

     You'll dislike this if you:

    • Don't care for vibrant bright colors
    • Don't fancy shimmers and prefer matte shadows
    • are looking for a budget friendly selection

Pedi of the Day: Chanel Rodeo Drive

Chanel Melrose Drive Pedi of the Day

My pedi of the day is the beautiful, Rodeo Drive from Chanel's Robertson Blvd Collection and is my favorite shade out of the collection.  A very pretty lilac purple color with subtle silver shimmer makes this color quite unique in my nail polish collection.

There's been quite a few mixed reviews regarding the new Robertson Blvd collection - some bad, and some good.  Overall, most of the polishes applied flawlessly for me with two easy coats.  The yellow shade was the only color I had application problems but, every yellow shade is difficult in my opinion.  I'll be elborating a little more when LA Sunrise is featured as my pedi.

    Check out some comparisons below.

    Lilac Purple Nail Polish Comparisons

I don't own many lilac purple colors because this shade is quite new to the fashion industry and was just introduced last year.  The most obvious comparisons are Chanel Rodeo Drive and Rescue Beauty Lounge's Purple Haze which are completely different in their own way.  Purple Haze is navy blue based violet/purple compared to a true lilac purple.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

Milani Cosmetics: Runway Eyes Swatches, Review

Milani Runway Eyes Eye Shadow Singles

Milani introduced these capturing eye shadow gems quite sometime ago and my local CVS is always, I mean always, sold out.  But, Friday was my lucky day as there was only about five of these beauties left.  Milani Runway Eyes ($4.99) are available in 12 stunning colors and are a silky, smooth eye shadow that delivers unbelieveable color that can be applied wet or dry.  A two end applicator is included with the compact.  One side is a sponge for wet applications and the other a brush from dry applications.

Looking at the pictures, the shadows look very shimmery and glittery but are not so.  In fact, the sparkles are just the top layer which may have been intended for that quick-sell.  I could see alot of people passing this up just because they look "way too glittery".   The shimmer factor is about perfect.  Yes - there is shimmer but it's not chunky.  Honestly, some of the shades didn't even reflect shimmer when applied.  The color pay-off and staying power was excellent and I highly recommend these.

Check out some photo swatches below.

    Milani Runway Eyes Photo Swatches

I'm pretty much lemming all 12 shades which, may take sometime considering their never in stock.

Check out what else came home in my haul.

Milani Runway Eyes Quad in Glamourous Gems

OMG, Did I mention GREEN!  Saved the best for last, you guys!  Good news is - Runway eyes are available in quads or should I say, sexts?   Glamorous Gems, $6.99, (i spelled it wrong in my pic above, oops) is a mixture of six green, golds and bronze colors.  I literally fainted when I saw Glamorous Gems in stock because I'd lost all hope by now.  I'm still geeked about finding this in stock because it's so pretty to look at.

    See the photo swatches below.

Milani Runway Quad Photo Swatches in Glamourous Gems

The color pay-off is quite good because I'm probably an NC-35 right now.  I plan to mess around with these colors today and will report back on the staying power and so on.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

PS: MAC Starflash and Lustre twins are now available at Nordstrom, Pro and MAC stores on the 31st!

Pedi of the Day: Chanel LA Sunrise

Chanel LA Sunrise from Robertson Blvd Collection

Today's pedi of the day is LA Sunrise - a soft yellow color with subtle silver shimmer.  The pale lemon shade is absolutely gorgeous and unlike any yellow in my collection.  However, the application was extremely streaky and difficult to accomplish a polished manicured look.  You may need some crazy pills dealing with yellow polishes because they share one thing in common - the formula is a nightmare!  But, don't fret there's hope - call your manicurist!

Rescue Beauty Lounge and China Glaze are two brands of yellow that applies perfectly for me.  Check out some yellow comparisons below.

    Yellow Nail Polish Comparisons

LA Sunrise is more toned down compared to my other yellow polishes which, makes her unique.  Essie's shorty pants and Zoya's Creamy are much brighter than Chanel's but, can pass as dupes within themselves.  Shorty Pants applies thicker than Creamy but, the finished results are pretty much the same.

UPDATE: I love love love this color, it's so fab ya'll!

Dior Fall 08 Collection: Review, Swatches

Dior Fall 08 Makeup Dandy Collection

Overall, Dior's new fall collection offers a nice collection of neutrals with an edge of color.  This is a great collection espically for neutral lovers wanting to ad a jolt of color this fall.  However, I was slightly disappionted because some shades were sheer and the pay-off wasn't there -espically for darker skin tones.  I'd hoped this collection be in the same category as MAC's Cult of Cherry with rich, dark, vampy shades but, it's not.

Dior's new Fall 08 makeup collection, Dandy Lady, should be readily available at most counters or within the next week.  Check out all the photo swatches below.

Dior Fall Dandy Collection Lipstick Swatches

My local counter didn't have all their stock in so, one lippie's missing.  Despite the promotional images, Fantastic Plum applied sheer as a cool berry shade which, was a huge disappiontment to me because I was expecting more of a dark, gothy shade.  Regardless, it's an beautiful berry-wine color.

Dior Fall 08 Collection Lipgloss Swatches

Delicious Plum is a gorgeous berry wine color with excellent pay-off and is the bread winner of the four.

Dior Fall Dandy Collection Liner Swatches

The gorgeous olive green and gold in the Khaki eye liner looked divine with my olive complexion and green eyes.

Dior Fall Dandy Earth Tones Eye Shadow

At first, Dior's 5-colour quint in Earth Tones didn't interest me whatsoever until swatched.  All the colors had excellent pay-off on my NC-30 skin and was suprisingly beautiful.  However, I didn't pick this up yet, the word is YET.  This is an great universal quad that would appeal on anyone.

Dior Fall Dandy Iridescent Leather Eye Shadow

From the first sight of the product image - I knew this wouldn't be for me.  The color pay-off took several swipes to achieve the swatched color above.

Dior Fall Dandy Collection Eye Shadow

Both eye shadow duo's are pretty but, nothing unique from the Silver and Bronzy.

Dior Fall Dandy Collection Impresson Cuir

While the exotic crocodile print in the Impression Cuir is striking to look at but,  the color pay-off wasn't there.  The swatch above was swiped serval times with my finger and who wants to ruin the gorgeous print?  Copper Diamond highligher is just simply gorgeous for every complexion.  My Dior MA told me all five shades are different colors which, is something Dior usually don't do.  Simply stunning.

Dior Fall Dandy Collection Nail Polish Swatches

Being a crazed nail polish addict - it was a no brainer for these drool worthy vampy shades.  Red Ebony, a glossy reddish brown creme with subtle shimmer that's featured in the Dandy Lady campaign ad, is much prettier than expected.  Initially, this shade didn't come home with me because I didn't think it was special but, it is!  Hopefully, you guys were able to pick up the Nordstrom Beauty Exclusive, Liquorice - a pretty plum color drenched with shimmer.

I've been told Dior's, Red Ebony nail polish, is only avaiable at Dior counters and will not be available at Sephora or Nordstrom.  Sephora is also debuting a Dior exclusive called Mystic Violine which should be available sometime this month.

Nail Polish of the Day: MAC Cosmetics Perplexing

    MAC Cosmetics Perplexing Nail Polish

Today's nail polish of the day is MAC Cosmetics in Perplexing that was recently introduced in the Lustre Twins collection.  A vibrant purple color with blue and pink shimmer that dries to a thin matte - satin finish.  Now, the bad news - the formula is plain awful.  Honestly, I lost track of how many coats in my photo swatches - yes, it was that many!  Since it applies rather thin, it's easy to pile on the applications.

Perplexing texture reminds me of Rainy Day from the Storm Signals collection but, in a shimmer version.  It applied very blotchy and the visible brush strokes was very disappointing.  It's a great color but bad execution MAC.

MAC Cult of Cherry: Nail Polish Swatches

MAC Cosmetics Illegal Purple Nail Polish Swatch

MAC in Illegal Purple is a blackened deep cherry that applied ultra glossy and flawless.   The cult of cherry color story described this color as a blackened eggplant purple which you'll see in the first coats but, after that, it's all about chocolate cherries.

Although, this is just your typically black cherry creme - it's very stunning.  Initially, Illegal Purple was just oh, *yawn* but, sporting this shade around has me thinking differently.  One particular thing I loved, is the ultra glossy formula - it's chic and goes perfectly with the cult of cherry theme.

MAC Cosmetics Illegal Purple Nail Polish Swatch

Candid shot of Illegal Purple - I love how super glossy this formula is!

MAC Cosmetics Silverstruck Nail Polish Swatch

I didn't waste my time trying to get a good picture because it wasn't happening.  Silverstruck's such a unique shade - there's no capturing the true beauty, honestly.  Ok, here's a go - a taupeish gray frost that has red, gold, green flicks of shimmer.  The red shimmer gives this taupe shade a copperish red metallic undertone - truely unique.

The texture reminds me of Chanel in Kaleidoscope except with a taupe base color and green, red, gold shimmer flecks.  My swatches were applied with three coats with no application issues.  You'll start to notice a copper reddish metallic finish when 3 or more coats are applied.

    MAC Cosmetics Silverstruck Nail Polish

I had to post this because it's the craziest picture!  Within the multi-second of the flash - this critter felt the need to jump in.  The cult of cherry nail polishes will be available on August 21st at freestanding stores and maccosmetics.com.

Sally Hansen Salon: Nail Polish Swatches

Sally Hansen Haute Chocolate Nail Polish Swatch

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I've been dealing with internet issues for the last couple weeks and that's one of my main reasons for my lack of posts.  But, it looks like everything is back to normal, thank goodness.  Life without internet - can you even imagine?

Let's start off with some Sally Hansen today.  Here's four shades that I picked up in the last couple of weeks.  I'll be posting the others later.  Haute Chocolate is a chocolate brown shade with red and gold shimmer that's a great brown color for fall.

Check out some more pics below.

Sally Hansen Haute Chocolate Nail Polish Swatch

Shimmers are my favorite nail polish texture because they can be so unique.

Sally Hansen Grenadine Glaze Nail Polish

Grenadine Glaze is a grenadine hot pink-red that was much prettier than expected.  It's hard to pick up on the hot pink in my swatches but the color is definitley there along with subtle hot pink and gold shimmer.

Sally Hansen Grenadine Glaze Nail Polish

A great color to end the summer and begin fall.

Sally Hansen Plum It Nail Polish

Plum It - a gorgeous deep plum purple with pink and blue-purple and gold shimmer.  This would be a pedi color.

Sally Hansen Navy Baby Nail Polish Swatch

Navy Baby - a navy blue shade with aqua shimmer.  Navy blue is probably my all time favorite nail polish shade that I'll always have love for.  It's such a classy color and a great alternative to your standard goth black polish.  Navy baby may not be the most unique color but my nails are loving the metallic sheen texture.

    Revlon Amber Ablaze Nail Polish

It's Friday - yeah!  Hope ya'll are off to a good start for the weekend.  Today I'm sporting one of Revlon's newest fall colors - Amber Ablaze.  A deep rustic orange shade with gold and red shimmer that's very stunning and a must have shade this Fall.  Wow, this is really gorgeous and a perfect match to MAC's Cult of Cherry quad in Spiced Chocolates.

My swatches above were applied with three coats (my usual norm) drying to a semi satin finish with good shine factor.   The formula dried alot quicker than I liked but, no big deal and certainly not a disadvantage.  You'll want to apply three to four quick swipes and your ready to go.

    Check out more pics below.

MAC Spiced Chocolate Quad and Amber Ablaze

The best way to describe this color is Brash in MAC's Spiced Chocolate quad which, is gorgeous btw.

Have a great week and be safe!

Product Review: Chocolate Cherry Lip Glaze

Salley Hansen Chocolate Cherry Lip Glaze
Product: Lip Glaze in Chocolate Cherry
    Price: $4.99
Steph's Rating: Stephs Rating 3 Kisses
    Buy it: Drugstores, Grocery
    Recommend: Depends

Sally Hansen's comfort shine lip glaze is an vita fruit complex that sores and beautifies distressed lips.  Filled with vitamins, moisturizers and soothing extracts creates a cushion of moisture delivered right to your lips.  A sophisiticated package with no mess applicator.

Ever since MAC released the Cult of Cherry collection, I've been craving chocolate cherries.  So, when I stumbled across Sally Hansen's comfort shine in Chocolate Cherry - I was all over it!  A chocolate cherry flavored lip gloss filled with vitamins, moisturizers and no-mess applicatior - y u m m y!

Sally Hansen Chocolate Cherry Lip Glaze

The Good: Extremely pigmented and excellent color pay-off.  The deep chocolate burgandy shade is filled with gold shimmer and suitable for most.  Trendy color for fall and a great topper for MAC's Cult of Cherry lipsticks/mattenes.  My lips felt completely moisturized and loved.

    Check out some pictures below.

Sally Hansen Comfort Glaze in Chocolate Cherry

Sally Hansen Chocolate Cherry Lip Glaze

The Bad: Now, you know there had to be bad news.  I can't tell you how incredibly disappionting this was because it's such a great product as far as the gloss goes.  My issue is the applicator. It's plastic, small and flimsy - just not practical for me or my lips.  I had trouble accomplishing an even application - very blotchy like.  The chocolate cherry flavor didn't bother me but, I could possibly see a difference of opinion.

One main reason Sally Hansens lip glaze intrigued me was the no-mess applicator.  So, you can see the great disappiontment by my low rating.  That's the main reason MAC's Tendertones and Loreal Jelly Balm didn't go over - who wants to put gloss on with their finger?!  hello, bacteria!

Lip Looks: Sally Hansen Chocolate Cherry Gloss

Overall, this is beyond a great gloss as far as texture, color pay-off, vitamins and moisture.  The staying power is your typical gloss but with total hydration your lips will crave.  I've read a couple reviews on this product - some good and some bad.  It might vary between personal preference.

Sally - perfect the applicator and you have a true bread winner here!  Heck, just put it in a regular tube!  As far as my supply, I still plan on using it and applying with an q-tip like applicator or a lip brush because the color's fab.  For my swatch above my good ole pinky finger came in handy.

Givenchy Vernis Please in Dandy Moire

Givenchy Nail Polish in Dandy Moire

WOW, wow, and another WOW!  I haven't been this excited since, well, Chanel Kaleidoscope, lol.  No really, this color is absolutely fantastic as I knew it would be.  Ever since I blogged about Givenchy's fall makeup collection - this was high priority on my lemmings list.  With just seeing the product images - it was love at first sight.

If your not familiar with Givenchy products well, their all mini-me size with a hefty price tag.  To break it down, you get .18 oz for $15.00.  Most nail polish bottles range around .4 oz so, it's a mini me size!  A navy blue base color loaded down with emerald green, blue and gold shimmer - speechless, you guys.  So many gals are going to love this shade.

    Givenchy Dandy Moire Nail Polish

Picture above is taken in the sunlight.  The only true disadvantages is the price and limited edition status.

    Givenchy Dandy Moire Nail Polish

As far as comparisons - the best way to describe this is a mix between MAC's Whirlwind and OPI's Yoga-ta get this blue.  If you love both thesse colors, then this is a must!

    Blue Green Nail Polish Comparisons

See how unpredictable nail polish colors can be!  Dandy Moire has some noticeable differences.  First off, a deep navy blue-blackish base color compared to OPI's royal blue.   What's so unique about Dandy is the emerald green and blue shimmer is actually visible indoors.  And, whirlwind is way off - it's not even in the same category as these two.  Dandy Moire is now available at Sephora for a limited time only.

Milani Goes Pop Art in six Gorgeous Ways

Milani Cosmetics Limited Edition Nail Shades

Don't ask me why Milani decided to introduce these gorgeous metallic shades so late in the game.  Just when you thought Fall was here - Milani pulls a little rabbit out of their hat.  infact, six new limited edition rabbits!  woot, woot!  But hey, better late than never!  Plus it's never too late to sport around pop color.

I'm not certain if there's a collection name, but, all six new shades are named after "art/design".  So, I'm just callin them Pop Art.  Shimmers, shimmers and more shimmers -  that's all you'll see in this new collection.   So much shimmer they can be classifed as metallic-like.

The best way to capture shimmers is with the sun and that's not happenin today.  The dark clouds have been hanging around for last couple days and isn't budging.  I would assume alot of us are having this nasty weather (my heart goes out to anyone in extreme circumstances).  But, in the next couple day's, I'll be replacing my swatches with regular ones.

Check out the photo swatches below.

Milani Cosmetics Red Canvas Nail Polish

Red Canvas - cherry red shade with gold and red shimmer.  Good color pay-off, two coats will you give good coverage.  No application problems.

                                               Milani Pink Abstract Nail Polish

Pink Abstract - a hot pink drenched in pink and silver shimmer.  Two coats will give you good coverage and three will make you shine.  No application problems.

Milani Art Deco Blue Nail Polish

Art Deco Blue - a royal blue metallic shade with aqua shimmer.  Two coats will give you good coverage and color pay-off.

Milani Purple Pop Art Nail Polish

Purple Pop Art - is going to be my next pedi shade which, I'll be posting tomorrow.  A magenta pink-purple with blue and pink shimmer.  Two coats will give you good cover but three is recommended for the bottle color.

    Milani Green Impressions Nail Polish

Green Impressions - a granny smith apple green loaded with green and gold shimmers.   One particular thing I like - the conjuction of green and gold shimmers gives the appearence of multi-dimensonel under certain lighting.  The bad news - they are fairly sheer and require four coats or more to achieve bottle color.

Milani Cosmetics Modern Yellow Nail Polish

Modern Yellow reminds me of China Glaze in Solar power with one minor expection.  It's completely drenched in gold and yellow shimmer - very gorgeous!  Just like Green Impresssions, the application required four coats to achieve bottle color.

Milani Pop Art Nail Polish Colors Limited Edition Collection

Honestly, I liked every shade in this collection.  Very suitable for most people - if you love shimmer polishes.  Who doesn't like to shine with every color in the rainbow!  Hope your having a wonderful day!

Givenchy Prisme Quad in Precious Shimmer

    Givenchy Eyeshadow Quad

    Prisme Again! Eyeshadow Quartet
Summary: This chic compact contains two different powder textures, both of them very fine, gentle and creamy, for a variety of effects: matte, semi-matte, satiny, iridescent, or pearly shine - choose your weapon! The two matte textures are in the two upper pans of the case and the two iridescent textures are in the two lower pans. The sexy, bi-level mini case also contains three integrated applicators: two shadow shaders and a liner brush.

Precious Shimmers ($49,50) is another item I purchased from the Dandy collection.  Once again, Givenchy products are mini-me size.  This is frustrating because their products are very luxurious and gorgeous.  But, I just can't justify spending $49.50 or recommending it.  Well, unless you have some extra $$$ here and there.

    Check out the swatches below.

    Givenchy Precious Shimmer Quad

The two greys had excellent color pay-off.  Pink and gold was so-so on my NC-30 skin.   The metallic sheen isn't as shiny as your typically "shimmer based" shades.  Both grey's combined with MAC's Black Tied or Carbon will make a hot smokey-eye look.  So, there's a couple uses Givenchy Prisme Eyes could go for - if only you can get over the price tag!

Givenchy Prisme Again in Precious Shimmer

One feature that tickled my fancy - it's small and compact.  A perfect pick up and go you can use for eye shadow, highlighter and even lip gloss (along with vaseline).  And the sponge applicators brushes aren't cheap - you can actually navigate through them if you have to.

Givenchy Prisme Again in Precious Shimmer

Ahh, so small and so cute!

    Givenchy Eye Shadow Quad

Pretty small, huh?  Fits in the palm of my hand.

Wet n Wild Flash Dry Nail Colors

Wet n Wild Flash Dry in Speed/Vitesse

If there was an "most unique drugstore" nail polish award - Wet n Wild's Flash dry in Speed/Vitesse ($1.79) would definitely win first place.  A navy blue based polish with fine gold, purple, blue and pink micro glitter making this gorgeous and a very unique color.

After the first coat, you'll notice a navy-blue based polish.  Then, purple micro glitter shines through and takes on a whole new level.  Since this polish is drenched in glitter - it was next to impossible to capture the true beauty.  The Downfall: Flash dry is a fast drying formula so there's no time for mess-up's.  And, too many application swipes may cause some bubbling.

Wet n Wild Rush Presto Nail Polish

Rush/Presto - a peach pink shade with gold shimmer.  This is the outcome I would of liked nars orgasm polish to reflect - it's a pinker and prettier version.

The flash dry collection is only available for a limited time only at your local grocery or drugstore.

Prefall collection: spongebob to the rescue

Rescue Beauty Lounge Prefall Nail Polish Collection

It's officially pre-fall and Rescue Beauty Lounge introduces three fun and chic shades this season.   This new collection is inspired from Marc Jacob's love for Spongebob.  Starfish Patrick - a creamy coral shade, Square Pants - a pale lemon shade with subtle shimmer and Bikini Bottom - a watery baby blue creme that top's my favorite.

What a genius idea - prefall shades!  So, it's not an official season - it should be.  From the end of summer to the beginning of fall - what colors to wear?  Isn't that the worst?  Well, these colors are perfect.  Not to dark and not to bright.  End the season right, girlfiriend!

Spongebob who?  Honestly, if it wasn't for my neices of nephews - I would have no knowledge of the popular childrens tv show.   So, regardless of the inspiration - these colors totally rock.  Take confidence in Ja Baek and the RBL team because they never let us down.  The formula is true perfection along with the brush.

    Check out the swatches below.

    Rescue Beauty Lounge Starfish Patrick

Starfish Patrick looks more brighter and vibrant pictured above.  But, in real life, it's more toned down.

    Rescue Beauty Lounge Square Pants

Square Pants is a great color.  It's a soft, pale yellow that's pefect for any ocassion.  Very chic and feminine.

    Rescue Beauty Lounge Square Pants

    Candid shot of Square Pants.

    Rescue Beauty Lounge Bikini Bottom

Bikini Bottom - my favorite shade out of the collection.  A watery baby blue creme that looks stunning on your nails and feet.  Oh boy, I can't wait to use this shade for my next pedi.

The Spongebob collection is now available at Rescue Beauty Lounge and retail for $18.00/each.

Bobbi Brown: Shimmering Nudes Eye Palette

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Nudes Eye Palette

Bobbi Brown introduces a new limited edition shimmering nude palette ($50).  A eye shadow palette consisting of seven cool and warm nude shades that's flattering on every skintone.  This includes a combination of soft, pearlized Shimmer Wash Eye Shadows and high-shimmer Metallics to softly illuminate eyes, and Espresso Eye Shadow to line eyes. Comes with a dual-ended Eye Shadow/ Eye Liner Brush.

The seven shades includes: (pictured above from left to right) Nude Beach Metallic, Nude Mist Shimmer, Naked Eye, Nude Glow Metallic, Mica Shimmer, Nude Spice Metallic, and Espresso.  Check out the photo swatches below.

    Bobbi Brown Shimmering Nudes Swatches

    Bobbi Brown Shimmer Nudes Swatches

I'll be the first to admit, neutral shades usually aren't my thing.  But, something kept pulling towards Bobbi's Brown new shimmering nudes eye palette.   The shades are a nice mixtures of the metro chic colors debuting this fall.  Plus, you get three new bobbi brown metallic shades.  A great deal - espically, if you don't own any of these shades.

When swatching the shimmer nudes palette, I was a little hesitant because the color pay-off wasn't that great on my NC-35 skin.  But, when coordinated with the other shades in the palette, it was well worth it.  You can go from professional and sophicated to a sexy, smokey eye look in minutes.

This palette is now availabe at Bobbi Brown for a limited time and retails for $50.00.

New Fall Shades: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear

Sally Hansen Emerald City Nail Polish

Here's some new fall shades from Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear line that I've had for a couple of weeks now.  More and more, I've been turning to Sally Hansen's bold, beautiful, fall-alistic colors.

It's a horse of a different color (if you don't know this saying, shame on you)!  Emerald City - Don't this so remind you of Wizard of Oz?!  Infact, the name "emerald city" might have a little too much in common with the 1939 classic film.  A true emerald green shimmer perfect for green lovers.

    Sally Hansen Gunmetal Nail Polish

Gunmetal - a gorgeous blue/gray gunmetal shimmer.  It's more on the blue side - very pretty.

Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Nail Polish

Mellow Yellow - a yellow - lime with green shimmer.  This color is "different".  A color that I wouldn't usually go for.  But, after wearing for a few days, it grew on me.

All these shades should be available now at most stores retailing an average $2.69 - great shades and cheap too!

China Glaze Wagon Trail has a twin sister

China Glaze Wagon Trail Nail Polish

One of China Glaze's prize winners from the Fall Rodeo Diva collection is Wagon Trail.  A gorgeous black with goldish green shimmer - that's truely unique.  Yes, it's black - but very suitable for most people.  This is a color that can't mistaken anywhere.  So, when I popped into my local drugstore and saw the new wet n wild display, I knew it was an exact dupe.

    Check out some pictures below.

    Wagon Trail Nail Polish Comparisons

(Right) Wet n Wild Rock Solid nail polish in Stunner - a limited edition shade.  (Left) China Glaze nail polish in Wagon Trail.

Wet n Wild Stunner Nail Polish

Wet n Wild's Stunner applied perfectly within two applications.  The formula was a tad bit thicker than China Glaze's, which was nice.

China Glaze Wagon Trail Wet n Wild Stunner

Stunner is a excellent dupe for Wagon Trail - if you can find it.  You'll probably have better luck finding Wagon Trail since it's readily available online.  Regardless, both shades are equally beautiful.

Lippmann Collection: New Shades for Fall

    Lippmann Collection Fall Nail Colors

Deborah Lippmann introduces a whole bunch of goodies this fall for your nails.  A couple of items I picked up from the fall collection is Party Like a Rockstar Set ($25) and Superstar ($15).

Party Like a Rockstar Set includes two (small size) limited edition shades: Good Girl Gone Bad - a gorgeous purple with pink and silver shimmer, Devil in a Blue Dress - a midnight blue and a small fast dry topcoat.

Check out the photo swatches below.

Lippmann Collection Good Girl Gone Bad Nail Polish

Good girl gone bad - a sexy purple vixen nail polish named after Rihanna's hit album/song.  A gorgeous purple loaded down with pink and silver shimmer.  Since there is so much pink shimmer, this looks magenta purple in some lights.

Lippmann Collection Devil in a Blue Dress Nail Polish

Devil in a Blue Dress - a darkened navy blue - black creme.  This is just your standard midnight navy blue creme - nothing special.

    Lippmann Collection Superstar Nail Polish

Debroah Lippmann best describes Superstar as a copper flecked fudge.  A brown base coat filled with massive amouts of copper, brown and gold glitter.  Superstar is definitely out of the ordinary and different - which is one of the reasons it's starting to grow on me.

This collection is now available online.

Fall 08 Collection: Borghese Wines of Tuscany

Borghese Wines of Tuscany Fall Nail Polish collection

Borghese introduces the Wines of Tuscany collection this Fall 08'.  A collection of seven limited edition shades of vampy reds, pinks, browns, and plums.  Overall, this is a nice collection espically, if you love dark, vampy plummy shades.

Out of the collection, I came home with four of the stand-out shades.  The pink and reds didn't interest me much because it's just your standard hot pink and reds - nothing unique.

Check out the photo swatches below.

     Borghese Pomino Plum Nail Polish

Pomino Plum - a burgandy plum with pink and blue shimmer.

    Borghese Vini Violet Nail Polish

Vini Violet - a deep magenta purple creme.  This was one of my favorite shades out of the collection.  It's a much deeper purple magenta in real life and looks fantastic on toes.

    Borghese Brunello Grape Nail Polish

Brunello Grape - A deep blackened grape with matching shimmer.  A very gorgeous, vampy shade for fall.  There was another similar shade in this collection to Brunello Grape but, not as pretty in my opinion.

    Borghese Espresso Brown Nail Polish

Espresso Brown - a brownish red with red and gold shimmer.  The wines of Tuscany collection is now available at your local CVS or Walgreens.

Hope ya'll had a wonderful weekend!
